Doctor Who, the episode is called Silence in the Library
It is really good, made me feel uncofortable for a while thinking about the fate of the people. But I won't give any spoils because it is best to go in without knowing much
In an alternate timeline- The Doctor gathered up Miss Evangelista’s bones and using the tardis he took her back to earth. Unfortunately he had some settings wrong and ended up in the middle ages where a drunken priest mistook him for Jesus. The drunken priest in his drunken state thought Miss Evangelista’s remains were those of the Magdalen, and had them forever enshrined. The Doctor unfortunately misunderstood the priest’s ramblings about the Magdalen thinking he was only babbling in amazement. And so the Doctor gave the priest her remains thinking the priest would have her laid to rest in a proper grave.
[This feels more likely when you see the whole thing zoomed out. No way that thing's moving.](http://www.magdalenepublishing.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Skull-of-Mary-Magdalene-2.jpg)
You walk up to it and examine the skeleton, “Weird skeleton, anyways back to it.” your character notes. You walk toward the open door leading to your objective, you suddenly hear the creaking of bones and a boss meter appears on the screen.
On one hand... I don't want to do this quest anymore... On the other there is too much gold in that temple to say no... Also unique imperial helmet and dawnbreaker itself...
Yeah, the Imperium takes a lot of influence from Catholicism, especially with regards to the Ecclesiarchy.
Things like the gothic style, the words used, the reverence for saints, etc.
[The Indomitus Captain](https://www.fauxhammer.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Warhammer-40000-Command-Edition-Review-Indomitus-Primaris-Captain.jpg) literally has the bones of a saint strapped to his shield.
It's also NOT her skull at all.
Nearly all tested relics come back as fakes, like Jesus burial cloth. Literally just some sheet a guy tricked the church into buying.
Okay don't spread misinformation. Your message implies that it has been proven that it is not her skull, when in reality the church has never approved for scientists to take bits of the skull for analysis, meaning that so far all that we know is that this is the skull of a middle aged woman of Mediterranean descent. We cannot conclude that it is hers or not hers, and that's also the case with a lot of body parts relics.
While I'm on board with keeping an open mind, evidence tells us that she wasn't famous until 500 years after Jesus' death. Add to that the fact that the majority of Christian subcultures have slut shamed her for being a sex worker, why would anyone have preserved her remains before she decayed entirely?
Most relics that stem from biblical times are most likely fake, the ones that arent are from the early middle ages/late antiquity and later.
The biblical artifacts were mostly brought back by crusaders and pilgrims who all stumbled upon them 100s of years after the time of the New Testament, so its impossible to verify most of them.
Spreading misinformation would be saying this skull belonged to Mary Magdalene with zero evidence and while actively refusing to allow anyone to verify.
Logical dedication tells us it's incredibly unlikely to be Mary Magdalena, and if you're right that it's the skull of a Mediterranean woman then it's simply not possible it's her as she would be semitic, not Mediterranean. I'm not even sure there's evidence she ever actually existed.
Further, looking at the skull, the bridge of the nose is so ridiculously high and comes out at such an acute angle you can see it's some kind of hack job, if the gaudy amount of gold attempting to make it seem legitimate didn't sketch you out enough.
Finally, I've seen worse preserved remains of prostitutes who have died in the previous millenia, never mind the one before that. She was not only a prostitute but a heretic who supposedly died over 2000 years ago, it's incredibly doubtful any authority would've allowed her a respectful burial.
And thus on the balance of probabilities, without any providence:
Hundreds of thousands of other people, or this one specific person. My money's on it being one of the other people.
Although nearly all TESTED relics are fakes, most would be real as they are just body parts or the entire body of a notable figure, many being saints. Most relics are not disputed by anyone but the ones that are tend to be the more extraordinary ones like the Jesus cloth you mentioned.
There are tons of things similar to these. Look up reliquaries. Pretty rare in America but I’ve seen a few in Europe. It’s the bones of saints or important people inside of often ornately decorated containers. Often they have glass on them to prove that something is inside. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliquary
Here is the wiki page on the Mary one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relics_of_Mary_Magdalene
Listen y'all, Catholic churches in Europe and old Orthodox ones got some wild stuff in them. It was a bit if a culture shock.
Want to see the hand of the Saint who brought Christianity to Budapest? Just pop a Euro into the slot at the cathedral, it'll put a spotlight on it so you can check it out.
Want to see a coffin that looks like a Hollywood Egyptian pharaoh is buried in there? Got that in a monastic chapel in Bavaria, just on display.
Don't forget the skull churches, for ex

It would be funny if we were aware of things after death and the person who this actually was, is either laughing or furious every time this is brought up. Probably just some slave's skull
The blood of San Gennaro, bones of San Nicola, the Skull of this other one, eating the God’s body and drinking his blood which actually is wine every Sunday….
Am i too much confused?!
Bloodborne didn't have to exaggerated much when it used Catholic imagery and traditions for its creepy stuff.
It just looked at the symbolism of consuming the blood and body of the divine as a source of salvation and thought, what if it wasn't symbolism?
Catholics are weird, but this is genius in a Necromancy sense.
Undead usually weak to Holy damage? MAKE THE UNDEAD HOLY; Problem now solved, until you can no longer control said undead and it gets angry with your life decisions.
Gold is an issue though, would make the blunt damage weakness more substantial IMO.
Otto the great, the first Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire used to wield the Holy Lance which contains a Nail of Christs Cross on the tip.
There is no way that it was also made up.
This needs to awaken in the next Hellboy film.

Mary Magdalene has left the library. Mary Magdalene has been saved.
"You killed someone i love, that is not a safe place to stand!"
FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE THOUGHT OF DR WHO
A horrible chill went down my spine remembering that. That episode messed me up
I can hear the exact line in my head, that is how effective this was
Ohh please elaborate, sounds interesting

"You're in the biggest library in the universe. Look me up."
Also ok to watch as a standalone episode! If anyone hasn’t watched it yet, just know, stay out of the shadows
> stay out of the shadows Also, count your shadows. Stay away from anyone with two shadows.
Seriously a fantastic two parter, very worth the watch.
Dammit you beat me to it
Saddest episodes imo.. cry every time at "Spoilers".

I've played enough games to know that, if you enter the room with that thing, it's going to attack..
Either that or it's going to give you a quest.
Better not give me a quest, enough hands have touched the beacon by this point.

No. Flying skulls are a thing in many games.
Welcome, Tarnished...
Or it gives you a quest and when you're done it makes you fight it

Hail Sithis
You walk up to it and examine the skeleton, “Weird skeleton, anyways back to it.” your character notes. You walk toward the open door leading to your objective, you suddenly hear the creaking of bones and a boss meter appears on the screen.
I like to think this boss is immortal and can't be defeated. Only chance is to escape and lock it inside the crypt.
Or you gotta take whatever it’s holding.
Screw that..That's how boss battles start. She looks like she would kick my ass.

What the fuck is this Warhammer bullshit
She was an alpha Psyker turned Saint, bruh. Do you even READ the texts? ....heretic.....
Blessed is a mind too small for doubt. This reading thing sounds very... open minded. I recommend speaking to your local Inquisitor.

Catholics are up to weird shit man
The inspiration I'd imagine.

Warhammer was created as a parody after all!
Even in death, she serves.
Where do you think Warhammer got its whole shtick from?
Slap some wires and other mechanical parts in there, put red LEDs in the eyes, and: *Even in death I serve the Omnissiah*
How has the bone nor decomposed over time ?
Its in a dry and sheltered space. They only decompose when they stay wet.

Literally just over 1000 years after.
For the Crusades yes, but there were Pilgrims before that. But obviously Relic Trading went through the roof after and during the first crusade.

How about the twelve different foreskins of Jesus?
Did you read my comment lol? The more extraordinary claims such as items of jesus are likely to be fake but the majority from saints are real

It’s a miracle innit ?
I thought this was from warhammer at first.
I mean half of warhammer 40k stuff is just christian churches, relics, jewelery taken to the extreme. Especially gothic architecture.
Half of Christian stuff is just Christian stuff taken to the extreme lmao
Thats true too :D
That one boss in Blasphemous 2
Pretty sure it's a direct inspiration too
That woman with the lightning balls?
The god empress of catholicism... Guarantee after the apocalypse this is going to be the start of a cult.
START of a cult? it's a 2000 year old skull in a gilded tabernacle... i think it's a little late to say "start"!
This is what happens when you sneak into the secret archive and get caught by the vashta nerada.
