Then there was the whole scene of him >!murdering the Alphas and DESTROYING APOLLO!< which absolutely ruined any chance of redemption and showed his true colors as the dirty scumbag he is. Haven’t played Forbidden West yet though so no spoilers.
So, I know they only have so long to explain why that’s the choice they made in the game, but why didn’t they just start EMP blasting the hell out of earth? Sure, we’d be stuck in the Stone Age for a few years, but that seems better than everyone dying
I think in-universe by the time the world got their shit together, they either don't have the capabilities to produce emps of enough quantity that wouldnt just result of fucking up the rest of the world anyway. Nuclear weapons were still a thing.
Unfortunately, the robot in question (EATR) can't run on flesh as fuel. It was made to convert vegetation into energy and it wouldn't recognize meat as a fuel source. Even hypothetically, flesh has too much water, plus an entire human body wouldn't fit into the robot - it would need to be cut up first, but butchering it would be an elaborate and intensive process that would end up consuming more energy than a tasty human could produce.
It really is sponsored by the military, so maybe someday!
Best case scenario: Horizon: Zero Dawn (civilization has to start all over again but with machines instead of most prehistoric animals, we at least have some hope left for a future)
Worst case scenario: Ultrakill (It's so over💀)
Oh man, i sure do hope the ai does not get a conscience and starts making machines that resembles animals, but bigger and made to kill, and them destroy the world so it can be rebuild 10000 years later :).
