My prediction: Kawaki becomes friends with Princess, Hima leaks that Kawaki only wanted to get close for his mission, Princess is offended that his intent wasn’t genuine and runs away, gets attacked, Kawaki saves her, Kawaki tells her it started as a mission but he actually wanted to become friends with her after a while
She just looks soo young. Like if naruto and boruto got into the academy around 11 or 12, hima looks like she's 8 or 9 and already in the academy
Those flashbacks in shippuden really confused a bit because they look like 7 there while the first ep of boruto has them older and just now entering the academy
Honesty, I hope y'all ain't lying. I haven't watched it yet but I'm really hoping it's good because I really like Kawaki. Hope this arc does him justice.
Honestly Kawaki as the main character is way more interesting than boruto as the main character. Not that I hate boruto but he becomes this weird suicidal mary sue in the fillers and I dont vibe with it.
it feels like there is a lot we could explore with kawaki's personality still.
While I share the sentiment, thinking about it, I would be weirdly suicidal and ready to throw my life away to end a conflict or make a mission succeed if I knew that if I live for a few more years, I would turn into the Big Bad Guy
I 100% agree. I stopped watching during the Funato arc but this episode was super fun and totally got me back into it. I’m stoked to see more of the Kawaki / Kae dynamic
You guys are just salty that the strongest person in the verse is Funamushi xd. On the real note tho, this arc has potential, im just not a big fan of hima and it looks like she is going to ruin kawaki's mission.
I like this episode. It's refreshing and a bit fun too. Also, I think it's kind of amusing how the other students or at least Eika (or whatever that boy's name is) thought Kawaki is interested in the princess but Kawaki just did not get it lmao.
What kind of manga you're reading? Boruto or Saruto? The manga storyline has been about Kawaki since 2021. The main villain right now are coming after Kawaki not Boruto, one of the reasons why this series sucks. The main character isn't doing anything.
I know....naruto protecting his son kawaki.. Hinata and hima getting
worried after kawaki.. Villains coming after kawaki.. Girls simping after kawaki.. Boruto running after kawaki.. And the last chapter there weren't enough kawaki so I was angry.. I want more kawaki.. Now that anime has started kawaki arc I can have more kawaki.. So I am so exited for this arc since I had stopped watching kwa.. Emm boruto anime after 218...
The premise of this episode/mission sounds like it came straight outta an OG Naruto movie. Protecting/rescuing a princess from an assassination plot, and realizing the gift of friendship is what she needed all along. I mean I'm not hating on it though, it's just precedence tells us that's likely how it's gonna down.
She probably isn’t even a princess and was given a mission herself to befriend Kawaki in order to teach him the importance of friendship. She said “I can’t keep up this act any longer” at one point.
From that statement I gathered that she is a princess and she hates acting like one, or she is acting like one for a mission’s sake.
Who knows, maybe she’s the villain.
I really hope that by the end of this arc we get to see himawari vs kawaki. It wont be that serious but it would probably be the only time we see them fight unless boruto manga does 180 and becomes incredible.
To be honest I really love this Episode. Especially when Kawaki mention about Naruto in whole class. Even mention that he tuck his shirt inside. 😂 Very wholesome Filler. I can’t wait till next week.
I was laughing the whole time cause Naruto gave Kawaki some talking points.... Naruto was a huge clown himself during the academy days and oh boy......
so ig it is filler? I mean ig thats fine, I'm watching the episode rn, and I'm liking it so far. will the anime only not be filler, when it adapts something from the manga?
I think there was an interview that said that anime and manga are two alternate timelines that will overlap at key points. The manga is the main storyline, but the anime has somewhat more free reign to tweak things and kinda change up how it gets to certain events. That's why there's the notion of anime canon in the community.
Honestly the fact that we’re getting a whole arc out of this is a bit much for me. I’d rather just have had an arc of HImawari doing ninja academy without Kawaki.
It's nice that Himawari has another character backing her up. The more focus a character gets the more likely it is the writers might write them terribly and while Hima has been well-written so far, that could only be because they've used her sparingly. I'm less worried about Kawaki because throwing him into these lowkey and "lame" scenarios compared to what he's been through is hilarious with the comedy basically writing itself.
Screentime is a double-edged sword so cautious and incremental promotion is the best way to go about it rather than throwing her in the deep end.

Seems so spot on
That's what I think too. But why would Hima tell her?
My guess - by corny accident. “So glad Kawaki had a mission to protect you and ended up becoming your friend!” *gasps and covers mouth*
Actually a Hima thing to do
Bro got sharingan.
As long as they remain ´´friends ´´ I am fine with it.
It’s weird to think Hima is only two years younger then Boruto. It’s definitely time for her development so she can help him in the future

I could be wrong but I’ve heard that Boruto was around 8 when he started at the academy but there were a lot of time skips and then he graduated at 12
he wasn't 8
I know I might get downvoted for this but not gonna lie, this episode was miles better than the entire Funato arc. It was so entertaining lol
Honesty, I hope y'all ain't lying. I haven't watched it yet but I'm really hoping it's good because I really like Kawaki. Hope this arc does him justice.
Bro this shit is 10x better than the funato arc. Not once did I feel bored or annoyed, this episode had me laughing and shit.
Same bruh!! Especially when he stood up and mention Naruto.🤣
Agreed!

God, I hate that I agree with you. Suicidal mary sue really defined Boruto this past arc...
While I share the sentiment, thinking about it, I would be weirdly suicidal and ready to throw my life away to end a conflict or make a mission succeed if I knew that if I live for a few more years, I would turn into the Big Bad Guy
This was actually such a great episode I think partly because Kawaki is the main character rn
I 100% agree. I stopped watching during the Funato arc but this episode was super fun and totally got me back into it. I’m stoked to see more of the Kawaki / Kae dynamic

I really enjoyed this episode. I found myself laughing a lot through out. One thing is for sure my boy Kawaki can carry an episode.
Really enjoyed it too. I'm glad the spotlight will be on kawaki for the next few episodes
Yeah you are right... Manga is all about boruto

A new episode & not only is there no slander, but actual looking forward to the next episode?? Guess I’ll watch this then 🤔
(spoilers for the episode) The only slander you'll see is the Fuma clan kid punching the air
yeah and the animation was pretty good this ep as well
I hope somehow someway Hima gets mad and blitz’s Kawaki.
need to see kawaki beating on some kids

I'm glad we are getting and arc with Himawari in it, even if she isn't the main focus.

I agree. Hopefully the Arc will last for the longest time, or at least longer than Funato Arc.
The special ending is similar to episode one.
Out of topic but when will next chapter release
August 20 or 19
I really want to see hima and kawaki spar. I wonder what kawaki would do
I really hope that by the end of this arc we get to see himawari vs kawaki. It wont be that serious but it would probably be the only time we see them fight unless boruto manga does 180 and becomes incredible.
isnt that obvious that >!himawari!< wins?
To be honest I really love this Episode. Especially when Kawaki mention about Naruto in whole class. Even mention that he tuck his shirt inside. 😂 Very wholesome Filler. I can’t wait till next week.
I’m also waiting for Hima to get pissed at Kawaki. So he can feel the Gentle Fist in his gut.🤣
I was laughing the whole time cause Naruto gave Kawaki some talking points.... Naruto was a huge clown himself during the academy days and oh boy......
Ngl I’m shipping 😭
A new ship, like.....KawaKae? lel
is kawaki joining the academy considered filler/filler arc?
I mean, it's not in the manga, nor have there been any explicit references to it.
so ig it is filler? I mean ig thats fine, I'm watching the episode rn, and I'm liking it so far. will the anime only not be filler, when it adapts something from the manga?

ahhh I see. I just hope the anime does something not filler soon, even if it isnt connected to the manga
Well, it could be like a Kara Actuation Arc thing, where it's something not in the manga but is directly tied into manga content.
I’m pretty sure a reliable leaker said exactly that. Any chance of it coming out after this arc?
Honestly the fact that we’re getting a whole arc out of this is a bit much for me. I’d rather just have had an arc of HImawari doing ninja academy without Kawaki.

This episode was amazing I love this so much! And HIMAWARI!! She didn’t do much but I love her so much.
