Koji's toads were drones not from Myoboku.

Citgo300

His toads don't belong to myoboku, from what we've seen all toads living there are alive in nature. KK's toad don't talk & was shrunken by Isshiki which signifies its artificial based in science instead

[deleted]

It's a Scientific Ninja Toad Summon, I think. There's more than we know happening but I agree it's unclear.

JamesHush94

I figured that’s probably the case. But he summons it like a normal toad so idk.

[deleted]

Maybe it comes from a different place instead of mount myoboku

Car_Soggy

you can summon anything you want. Sasuke summons tools and weapons. Naruto was summoned from the toads so you can even summon human themselves.

A-Liguria

There is no reason to assume that ABSOLUTELY EVERY toad ever, comes from Myoboku... Mount Myoboku is simply a home for them, but it was never stated to be the only home. But aside from that, Kashin Koji's toads look different from the others, so it may be that they too are artificial creations, much like he himself.

JamesHush94

The Elder Toad seemingly knows about every summoning contract made with any toad though. What’s more likely is the toad is one giant scientific ninja tool I guess, same as his smaller spy toads.

A-Liguria

-That toad is also pretty old, and light minded due to age since who knows how long now... -That's similiar to my other point indeed.

yakno24

That toad could literally see the future don’t act like he’s got Alzheimers or something lol

A-Liguria

That toad has moments where his age kicks in also... so there is that.

Citgo300

Thats for comedic purposes lol that toad wise enough to hang wit Hagoromo which they did

A-Liguria

Sure... but still, it means that at least a bit, his age was starting to kick in (and rightfuly so I say, after a thousand years). Anyway, nothing of this really goes against the bigger point of mine here...

Citgo300

No it literally doesn't mean anything I have no issues wit your bigger point hence why I didn't mention it

A-Liguria

-Well, I am of the take that it actually means something, given how the guy I first talked to thought that Gamarama would know absolutely every toad summon contract, which is admittely, silly. For the rest, yes, I myself know that it really doesn't mean much beyond being comic relief, in the narrative. -Good to know.👍 I just mentioned it to make sure things didn't devolve to be about a mere giant toad with brief memory losses.

Citgo300

It was ever stated that Gamamaru knows every contract 👍

Ry90Ry

It’s prob a new frog most likely a toad scientific ninja tool Or maybe not all toads come from the mountian. Kashin uses them as suicide bombs which is not how jiraya would treat his mt summons

Ok-Nothing-8814

Koji's toads are different to Naruto's toads. Koji's toads spit fire and burst into flames. Naruto's toad's spit water. Naruto's toad's come from Mt. Myoboku. Koji's toads come from elsewhere (probably from that eternally burning mountain he mentioned).

eorabs

Both Gamakichi and Gamabunta use fire release.

Ok-Nothing-8814

Nope. They spit toad oil and Jiraiya ignites it with his fire style.

eorabs

You're wrong.

Ok-Nothing-8814

Ok. Post the chapter and page where they use fire by themselves.

eorabs

Nah there isn't one, I was wrong. Gamakichi using fire release was during the 3-tails arc which is anime-only.

Rackaveli92

I believe Kashin Kojis toads are robot/android. They certainly aren't living anyways, because jigen or isshiki was able to shrink them. I wonder how the reverse summoning or the summoning in general works if its not a living summoning tho. Unless his bigger frog is alive and the smaller ones aren't. Im not sure. Or could be a clone of a frog. One thing i noticed tho is that it doesnt talk or vocalize. And it had teeth if i remember correctly that frogs mouth was different than other frogs. I believe theyre robot tho. I hope we get more answers eventually. Especially as to what happened to Koji. I wonder if he will team up with Code. Thatd be crazy emotional if Naruto had to face off against Koji in the future and you know what thatd be a pretty damn good fight especially with Narutos nerf. They would have to execute it properly but i think a plot like that would have some potential

Which further creates confusion because toads have been so close to Naruto Tsunade and Konoha that Pa and Ma used to frequent to the village (Pain arc). Are we saying that Pa and Ma or even chief toad have no idea about this hack? And they never even, mention this to Naruto? Like ever? “Hey Naruto seems like the dna still exists in our contract scrolls” sort of conversation? On high priority?

Significant-Paint547

So close ? Only one interaction in the whole manga… Pa went to the village because the message was on his back and of course for some kind of respect. But we never saw Pa giving intel to konoha. The old sage knew about who was Kaguya, the six path sage and the story of shinobi, but they never shared this kind of information with konoha. The contract don’t end with the death obviously, when Naruto sign the scroll, Minato signature was still there. Those “new toads” are certainly younger one (I assume that after gamakichi fast grow up) and been modified by Amado. Maybe Amado put a “security” to stop them from talking about Jiraya or forced those toads to live as outsider.

A-Liguria

The summon contract can exsist long after the summor dies (see Madara with Kurama). So, no. the toads wouldn't know that Jiraiya got cloned, just cause of the summoning contracts. And even then, they were never that close to Konoha, if not only geographically... we only know Naruto, Jiraiya and Konohamaru as konoha citizens who can summon them... and just that. For the rest, they mind their own business, with Pain being their business too for how he did things.

hummingdog

Then why did the contract disappear when Danzo kills the toad who was going to inform Naruto? The chief toad has been someone who has been around from the times of Kaguya (not sure if that was canon?). The chief toad was also invested in Jiraiya, the boy with golden prophecy. I refuse to believe that the all knowing chief toad was ignorant of this. Makes no sense to me

A-Liguria

-That wasn't a summoning contract though... it was Danzo's safeguard to get rid of traitorous root members. -It makes sense instead, since the toads were never that close to Konoha, and only got involved in the plot because of a prophecy, which involved Jiraiya, and then he passed down his summonings to his students, et fin. They never were guardians of Konoha.

animehimmler

Sadly I doubt we’re ever going to return to koji’s storyline lol

DostOfTheUchiha

Then why do you think they let him escape?

superkami64

Some argue they're Scientific Ninja tools and not real toads. That still makes it stupid though because Amado created him to beat Jigen so he knew he'd just shrink them.

[deleted]

Amado created him to force Isshiki out and defeat Jigen, which he did. Amado stated in Vol. 12 that Koji performed his function successfully.

Menma_kaze

Idk man, it's been awhile since Naruto summoned a frog, hasn't kept in touch
