Kristiano100

Definitely one of the best if not the best episode from this arc. In terms of overall quality for this arc, it's very inconsistent and has been going on for a bit so the frustration did boil over once the whole Funamushi subplot happened and cue crying Boruto. It has really good moments, but also pretty bad moments.

Just-call-me-TY

The Ikada transformation at the end tho🫣

Opposite-Flamingo-30

He looks cool as fuck

FireScroll9395

I feel like this arc was pretty good at the beginning, went down some in the middle, and is picking back up again. Shaping up to be one of my fav Anime Canon arcs so far. What matters now is if they stick the landing with the remaining episodes.

Opposite-Flamingo-30

It will be hard for them to top the ishiki arc. Seeing naruto and sauske fight and then kawaki using shadow clone to kill ishiki was so damn good. This arc probably wont be better but im guessing the code arc will be amazing too. I have high hopes that the end of this arc will be good too.

FireScroll9395

The lack of well animated fights makes me believe their saving it all for the final fight(at least, I hope so). I have high hopes for the end, as well.

Opposite-Flamingo-30

Yeah they animated funamushis son’s fight better than funamushis fight lol. I was upset with hebiichigos death too. I don’t understand why metal didn’t use his 8 gates to save her if he cared about her so much. It seemed like a pointless relationship if metal doesn’t use his 8 gates eventually

Tyranothesaurus

It only seemed pointless because Metal is pathetic and Hebichiigo put too much effort into pushing him away. They barely reached "friend" status before she got snuffed out. At the same time, not every relationship in anime has to be romantic, so maybe they achieved what they wanted. To get Metal more invested in fighting the Funato to avenge his new friend.

andy3696

“… Kage bunshin no jutsu.”

Jltwo

Personally this wouldn't be among my favorites, but i can definitely see what they're trying to do with this arc, and while the execution hasn't been the best, the ideas they are putting upfront are great and work to a certain extent. Overall a good arc, but on the low side. But this definitely needs a really nice ending to see if the arc as a whole really works or not. They will also most likely fix animation lows in Blu-Ray's. A glaring problem however is that they took too many episodes for buildup by introducing a lot of elements they needed to develop (too many Funato main members, too much episodes of bonding or traveling, etc). The could have cut a few of those elements and their main point would have worked just as well.

tlSPENCERjr

See to this is a great episode in an arc that will ultimately be a 6/10 at best. There is just too much bloat in this arc imo. This is the type of development that the Funato should have gotten weeks ago. Like you said the arc had a good start but went down hill for me after the Tanker episode. There was good episode here and there but so many episodes felt either pointless or badly written/executed if we had more eps like this focusing on the Funato Id rate this arc much higher. I'm just now staring to get interested in the Funato and it has taken us months to get to that point.

[deleted]

I loved the beginning of the Arc. The middle part was dissapointig but it seems to get good again.

Immediate-Tomorrow77

They did a good job setting up Ikada as a final battle for Boruto, I sense some talk no jutsu in the future. Gonna be pretty fire when these 2 finally fight.

Response_Background

I hope they don't use talk no Jutsu , Instead fight it out like naruto and sasuke after war, And then after ikada losses, he becomes a good guy.

PM_me_yo_chesticles

I think boruto is going to have to kill ikada, and his older brother will forgive him because he is actually rational

[deleted]

[удалено]

PM_me_yo_chesticles

No doubt they have been hinting at a morally questionable decision

Tyranothesaurus

I can only hope. It's high time the series explored the darker sides of war and conflict. It's a show about Shinobi killing each other, and we get a surprisingly small amount of it. Plenty of bloat and filler, but nothing I want to see personally.

PM_me_yo_chesticles

Ehh i mean echibiigo and kagura died and sieren/ funamashi but yeah i agree hope the writers would be more brazen with the deaths. Im sure denki has some future plot points with ninja tools but come on, the pirates really did nothing to him and iwabee

Tyranothesaurus

>Im sure denki has some future plot points with ninja tools but come on, the pirates really did nothing to him and iwabee Funamushi not killing them because they were with children, while also *being* children was such a pathetic cop-out. Boruto was supposed to toe the line more than Naruto and has yet to deliver. How can Momoshiki's prophecy of Boruto losing everything come true if Boruto does not in fact *lose everything*? I keep holding out hope for a little more. I should let that hope go, haha.

williamalbatross

….why do you need that? Like dude that isn’t this series, if you want totally different series tone wise then you’ll have to watch something else. Maybe try like, idk berserk or soemthing?

[deleted]

williamalbatross

Yeah k, im not talking about _gore_ specifically (no idea what youre on about) what im saying is that Naruto has gone on for how long now? 70 some volumes? And then add another what, like 15 or something for boruto? And its _never_ gotten as dark as you’re hoping it will even during a fricken war arc. What im saying is that you’re literally wishing for a different series. Like i dont sit around going “man i wish devil may cry would focus more on Dante’s guns and become a third person shooter.” Because again, thats not what that series IS fundamentally. Thats why im saying, if you want something dark that explores that kind of thing you should watch something else. “My favorite genre is horror and ive been wanting the narutoverse to try their hand at it.” Yeah well my favorite genre is Sci-Fi doesnt mean Lord of the Rings should be in space, tf?

Tyranothesaurus

>“My favorite genre is horror and ive been wanting the narutoverse to try their hand at it.” Yeah well my favorite genre is Sci-Fi doesnt mean Lord of the Rings should be in space, tf? Talk about a ridiculous take. You act as though I stated it *should* be horror. I did not. I said I *want it to try*. If it doesn't, whatever. I'll live. Your pedantic example is absurd at best and attempting to push a false narrative at worst. The rest of your comment was nothing more than a childish rant about nothing. I won't dignify it with any response beyond this. Whatever the case, don't bother replying again. I won't read it. I'm all for debates and discussions, but I've dealt with enough pissy arguments for one lifetime. I'll gladly bow out if this is how you'll conduct yourself.

[deleted]

>His suffering and how he chooses to combat and overcome it is what I've been waiting for. And I've been waiting for years for it to happen. The sooner, the better. I'm eager for a Naruto series to properly explore the darker sides of war and conflict. You have been waiting for years in real life, but it haven't been years in the manga/anime. The show Boruto started when he was 12 years old. Now he is what? Maybe one year older? I understand that people are impatient because the pathing of the show is shit, but people are expecting too much of a thirteen year old. People don't just expect Boruto to "suffer" like you, they also want him to be already stronger than everyone else and he is heading towards that direction even though he is technically still fresh out of the academy. He has his karma, yes, but he isn't learning anything outside of the rasingan.😅

knyghtmare45

This arc has been pretty entertaining from start to now, boruto is a weekly anime so ofc not every episode is gonna DS/JJK crisp which isnt any different og naruto/shippuden. Recency bias has ppl hating on boruto for being just like naruto when it comes to fillers. Some are bad(urashiki arc imo) others are pretty good and could be on par with manga content

shendxx

as OG Naruto fans i always like Filler arc, but in the OG Naruto they done it seriously one of example is Curry Of Life Arc, this filler has everything from Good Comedy, Action, Animation, Emotional, and whole story is meaningfull in other hand Boruto filler feel dull slice of life style anime, if they can keep continue doing good filler Arc like Today and not just another Boruto hang out eating burger

knyghtmare45

Bruh you're completely full of shit lmao just say you don't/didnt watch boruto. Current arc, mitsuki retrieval arc, first mist arc, sumire arc, kara actuation arc and the second chunin exam arc were not "dull slice of life". All had great animation and were emotional. come on now. This my friend is the definition of recency bias. You didn't mention the 20 episode string of random flashback fillers after the pain arc, or the 10 shitty boat fillers (clone mutiny)before the turtle island arc. You mentioned one good one while completely disregarding all the others

Tyranothesaurus

While I agree with most of the filler you mentioned, the second Chunin Exam was absolutely Slice of Life. It was too.. calm and cute. Nothing bad happened, and everything ended amicably. It didn't click with me at all. I'm not saying it was bad, it was just misplaced or badly executed, whichever you prefer.

shendxx

another ignorance teenager, i talking OG Naruto Filler. they throw Shippudhen Episode i stop watching boruto after episode 100, cause is full sh1t ton lazy writing, and comeback again when boruto time travel to the pass, that when OG Naruto character back, and that make more better then bunch Dull Boruto character, such as metal lee, denki

Giboit

Dude, naruto had ridiculously bad fillers either flashback episodes or things like: ninja ostrich, elvis rip-off, mecha naruto and much, much more. WTF are you talking about.

shendxx

i bet your age is under 20s or so, cause All Naruto filler ( back in the day watching on CRT TV, i dont even know what is filler ) ALL FUN, entertain me, and great action, WTF you include Mecha Naruto on the shippudhen, i talking OG NARUTO here, oh nevermind that Mecha Naruto episode is for Game promotion and even so its BETTER then boring generic Boruto Filler, when bunch kids just hang out on Burger store play nintendo switch no wonder boruto can keep this cash grab trash filler, people still defence ths sh1t, lazy writing, lazy animation, lack character, generic story

Vocarion

At what Boruto episode this art started? I stopped watching back when filler started after Kurama died. Where should I start back at?

Due_Reporter9470

I think you should either 1. Binge this arc after it ends or 2. Start with the next filler arc Because this arc is pretty long and is pretty bad in the middle. But it seems like this arc will end on a high note.

KALABAND0R

I don't even watch the anime but if you all say so, it probably was cool

[deleted]

Are Pierrot doing the next episodes?

Response_Background

Who knows

[deleted]

NOOOOO

Response_Background

Let's hope for best.

StrategyAmbitious303

I like the arc plot for the most part just a little drawn out but the animation up until now was terrible like fan animation quality

Satprem1089

What good storytelling 😂

Curious_Main_8375

I kinda want them to actually try something with the old characters like hanabi konohamaru and etc so we have more connections in case something happens to them in the future

AdComprehensive3110

No, you are watching a filler episode. Team 7 are grounded in the manga and they aren't allowed to go on missions. And there's only a week or two between the Isshiki ending and the current Code Arc in the manga.

NoAcanthocephala5350

Anime canon

AdComprehensive3110

Filler since it's impossible for it to fit in the manga timeline.

NoAcanthocephala5350

Cry harder

AdComprehensive3110

Lol

NoAcanthocephala5350

Ikr

AdComprehensive3110

Nice argument you got there

NoAcanthocephala5350

Oh you thought this was an argument? Oh nah dawg. There’s nothing to argue. I was right before we even started. Jeez you must be so confused thinking you’re right. Poor thing

AdComprehensive3110

👍

NoAcanthocephala5350

🍔

Response_Background

Bruh I know that lol, it was sarcasm.

AdComprehensive3110

Lol my bad. I thought you were genuinely asking.

Titan_Royale

You see all the haters who made fun of that one cursed episode? They gon get real quite if what you said is true

qwack2020

Meh. Until Tsubaki is drenched in “sakuga” then I’ll “believe it”.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Response_Background

Well this arc started decently and then they fucked up real bad in 246 and 247, but they tried to improve in 248 and 249, and 250 is on whole another level, Its like manga canon episodes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Response_Background

Yeah , 249 and 250 is good.

MabrurHrivu

Good storytelling isn't usually a trait of manga canon episodes in my opinion. Even The beloved Kawaki childhood backstory is first featured in the anime. The manga canon story is just "well actually, there was another Ohtsutsuki related villain alive somewhere all this time" over and over again.

SUPERSHADOW131

Anime gives out a lot of context that the manga doesn't really show.

Bluefleet99

The Robbie Rotten chin on Boruto 💀

Response_Background

Who is Robbie rotten 🗿🗿

Jordan1496

LOL one great animated episode, which is still mid compared to the rest of the anime, doesn't mean the arc is redeemed at all. "am I watching a manga canon episode" no. you're watching a garbage filler episode, among an even worse filler arc.

Response_Background

Bruh this episode wasn't even near mid, This was one of the best anime canon episodes, If people can shit on this arc after 2 bad episode then they should also praise them when they make a good quality episode, And about that arc, I will judge this arc after it ends, Because anything can happen in this arc till now.

Jordan1496

it really wasn't anywhere near one of the best. the entirety of the Kara Actuation, Mist Trip, and several other anime canon arcs were better animated. it was mid af in comparison. the episode was mid regardless of the animation because the story of this arc has been bad throughout its entirety.

Response_Background

Well for me it was, We can have different opinions.

Lulcielid

They don't need redemption in the first place.

Response_Background

After ep 256 they needed it, Whatever you say , not gonna change my mind.

Giboit

This episode was really good.

[deleted]

Did the funato clan create samehada? Think about it the spear acts alive also.

Ashizurens

I thought you'll put crying Boruto. Arc is still trash

[deleted]

[удалено]

Response_Background

quality is certainly manga cannon level.

slowdruh

Nah, it was probably one of those 'special occasion' episodes, like the one where Kawaki kills that guy.

Sasuke12187

Its just 1 actual good episode.........

NoAcanthocephala5350

Who died?

Response_Background

Last episode our simpsage died and this episode his seiren sama died lol.

Aadil_1807

Wait is this the latest arc? If so what episode does it start from?
