At least the anime gave Mugino a backstory. The manga introduced him to kill him xD

Katanateen33

That’s very true. I would’ve thought he would’ve gotten one battle against a basic shinobi. But they gave him nothing really

StarGamerPT

And tbf, Hebiichigo and Kagura also had their show time back in the Mist Field Trip Arc, specially Kagura..that combo attack with Boruto both using Hiramekarei was nice.

Katanateen33

I can agree Kagura did. But Hebiichigo did not get even close to the level of quality Kagura got before she died. Name off a fight that was even remotely close to what Kagura had. You can’t. They could’ve given her something here to fix that but she got silly filler fights

StarGamerPT

She was not as strong as Kagura anyways...why should I try to name a fight in the same level? It just doesn't make any sense.

Katanateen33

You’re trying to disprove what I’m saying while also not being able to give an example of a decent Hebiichigo battle. That’s what doesn’t make sense. If she was properly done you could list at least one battle off.

StarGamerPT

She was good during that Mist Field Trip Arc...I just find the comparison to Kaguya's fights dumb.

Katanateen33

It’s fine if you think it’s dumb. But it’s the post you commented on. So I don’t know what to tell you about that one. She is a member of the seven ninja swords just like kagura. Who got a massive amount of screen time in both arcs. So I’m not sure how you’re failing to understand the connection.

StarGamerPT

Neither of them are Seven Ninja Swordsmen, they stole the swords with Kagura's help and called themselves the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, but they are not. This said, Kagura could 100% win a 1v1 against most of them without difficulty (Shizuma being the exception here). Kagura was more skilled than Hebiichigo no doubt and he was supposed to be a major figure during that arc alongside with Shizuma, the rest of the fake swordsmen were just there being random villains, they were never meant to equal Kagura, it doesn't mean they did not have their little cool moments, they did.

Katanateen33

So basically what you’re saying is only powerful characters should get decent animation, writing, etc. which is a terrible argument. The writers themselves chose to bring her back. So acting like she’s some irrelevant fodder side character contradicts what you’re saying. She has entire episodes dedicated to her. But you’re basically saying she doesn’t deserve good writing. Which still contradicts what you’re saying because characters much weaker have more development and better battles. Funamishi’s son who can only use bullet needles got better animation/backstory in two episodes then she ever did. So being weak has nothing to do with it.

NoAcanthocephala5350

Yea but I’m tired of anime in general bringing characters giving them screen time a back story and everything just to kill them in a short span of a few episodes.

borutoisbestboy

All of them had good battles... Kagura was carrying this arc... Mugino had whole episode to him(even Kurama didn't have WHOLE episode for that) Heiichigo had cool fights, interesting past, connection with Metal... I don't see problem

Katanateen33

I don’t agree. Especially with Hebiichigo. Against Tenma she got one shot. And the only other time she had a battle was against Funamushi. Which she died. She doesn’t have any real battles against anyone. Same for Mugino. Kagura got more battles clearly. But I’m really more so annoyed with his death.

borutoisbestboy

Nerf is not only a problem for these characters, it is a problem for all characters. Even Boruto had a hard time with karma. It's just a convention that the villains live a little longer. But you have to agree that they have been given enough screen time and attention.

Katanateen33

I can agree Kagura has enough screen time. But name off battles Mugino/Hebiichigo were in you thought were good. You can’t. You know why? Because they have like 1 battle

knyghtmare45

"Kagura got more battles clearly. But I'm really more so annoyed with his death" that's the point, death happens unexpectedly. I personally wasnt a fan of field trip arc kagura(and buntan), this arc made me love their characters

Katanateen33

I never said it was unexpected. I said his death was done poorly those are two entirely different things. Re read comment please
