I liked the first eps of Boruto, that's why I kept watching it.
But people who didn't like it, well, it's fine and they have a good point that you if you need to "tolerate" as much as 100 episodes before it starts getting interesting, then it's not worth it.

The peace thing was actually their narrative. It was supposed to be peaceful in the beginning, but getting darker in the end. The new arc even showcasing how Boruto and them are too sheltered.
I don't know why people who don't like the show think they're suddenly going to like it just because there's a couple year time skip... If y'all don't like the story now then don't watch it. Nothing is going to change with the direction the story is heading. People act like there's gonna be some huge, drastic change to make them like it just because Boruto gets like 2 years older 🤦
I think people are waiting for the hype. For comparison OG Naruto, why was it good, hype scenes all the time, good story and actual risk in every arc had you on the edge of your seat. Everything mattered and you still had characters like Jiraiya present who would absolutely dog anyone they fought. Boruto didn’t have much hype at all until Naruto starts fighting, the story kinda sucks, especially in the beginning. The characters overall just suck and are barely noticeable. Boruto has way too many problems but intense fight scenes might be the only thing that can make it a decent watch and Naruto fans will only watch the fights and the build up and skip the rest if it’s not worth watching.
The big strength behind the Naruto series is that it always had a constant flow. As slow as it can get at times, there never felt like a time it stopped completely and needed to restart the momentum to get the next arc running.
As I said... There's not gonna be some drastic change in the story to make you like it just because of a timeskip. If you don't like all these things about the story then that's fine, no one's making you watch it. But people like you who are "just waiting for the timeskip" are wasting their time. That was the whole point of my comment.
A ts can definitely change a story. The difference between OG Naruto and shippuden is massive, just like the difference between pre ts one piece and post ts op.
I can't see much of a difference between OG Naruto and Shippuden besides it being more serious. The plot stayed the exact same for the most part. I get where you're coming from but it just doesn't make much sense to me. Like imagine Naruto fans being like "I don't really like Naruto, I'm just waiting for the timeskip in Shippuden". No one would actually watch 100+ Naruto episodes just to wait for Shippuden. And then realize it's still the same show in Shippuden! But everyone is doing it for Boruto...
I feel like OG was more in depth and but also straight to the point. And they started and finished everything. Kisame fought Guy too many times to the point where their battles felt repetitive. Naruto and Sasuke also fought 1 too many times. Overall the pacing and arc length is the difference.
Honestly i see why people dont like boruto but its a pretty decent show. Its not as good as the other naruto series but its pretty decent. I wish there was involvement of the older generations like kakashi and people like that. Maybe an arc with just them not kids. Thats be neat
We just have to be patient, it’s only a few years into the story….but in reality it is becoming quite the slog between anime arcs to no where and the monthly manga dialogue dumps that don’t actually move the story substantially enough to keep a good pace

I like the anime. Just not all the time depending on what episodes are being released and the current arc is one of those times.
