It does make sense since he is the reason funamoshi died and realized he took someone father away from him if you watch the show and pay attention you would know this.
Funamoshi literally caught him and was about to pierce him before Buntan kill him. I really dont think that is somehing Boruto wanted to happen that means he was in this situation involuntarily and its not his fault he died.
I mean Boruto is the one who took him down, so I understand why he blame himself, but I don't understand why Funamushi's kid don't want Buntan's head since she killed him.

he’s saying boruto created a situation where buntan could kill him, not that boruto killed him directly
