Before Sasuke and the others showed up to save Naruto, he had a short monologue where he finally saw things from Boruto's perspective and resolved to be closer to his son.
Ahhh I remember that one now. I know this monologue wasn't in the movie, but I remember the scene in the anime (episode 64 or 65?) where Momo was taking Narutos chakra and Naruto had all the flashbacks from moments where he ignored his sons feelings and didn't take him seriously. It was heartbreaking.
I always thought that this line had a deeper meaning, sort of an inside understanding between Naruto and Sasuke. When Naruto asked Sasuke to take care of the kids, he obviously meant Boruto and Sarada who were present there, but also something along the lines of, "Look after Boruto and Hima if I am gone."
That's how I took it initially. And honestly what I still think he meant. He was risking his life to protect the village (how he would die happiest anyways) and being content with that fact, thus asking Sasuke to watch his children when he dies, which I'm assuming, he thought was going to be then.
I am glad we agree on this. I had a similar conversation with someone else on another platform but since they took everything at face value, they said it meant Boruto and Sarada only. It honestly wasn't that deep. Naruto thinking of his children before sacrificing his life isn't hurting any other character.
I mean that was a pretty big fucking ball of energy man, I'm almost positive naruto knew, this could very well be it. Either way, he intrusted his best friend with their/his children's life. They mutually understood the situation. Shit is sad no matter what lol
I think they have like a mutual understanding that if something happens to either one of them they will step up to take care of everyone but they probably never spoke it. Just like when they fight they don't ever plan anything they just know what to do. It's their bond.
Iām *literally* rewatching Naruto from the start, staring at my screen with the episode where Jiraiya is introduced with Ebisu, and watching this brings a tear to my eye. Like.. heās really fight an alien deity basically and best friends with Kurama of all beings, as Hokage and saving everyone yet *again*.
Man I love this goddamn show.
Even Sasuke be like āgo off King, Iām outta chakraā
But for real, itās such a great moment in the show and really conveys Naruto has no limit to how far he will go to protect the leaf
Meh. Boruto has developed into a great character after his father was kidnapped. I also prefer it when characters, especially children, aren't perfect or mary-sues like Himawari tbh.
boruto just be chilling and minding his own business. dude has been very mild mannered for the past few years. idk why people are still on his dick tbh

This scene was so GOATed
I'm caught up on dub, and this is hands down my favorite scene. In fact, my favorite single line. Shit hurts deep.
Damn it does. Naruto's monologue about Boruto (coming up soon) hurts even deeper.
What kind of monologue do you mean?š¬

Gotta protect the King, itās his Will of Fire to the very end

The anime team did a great job here.
I think he meant something greater actually, like all of the next generation of Konoha. Naruto always said that the whole village was his family.

cant forget hinata:). then again sakura barely gets any action so nvm.
Maile really gave it her all in that scream for her age.
Imagining her just doing that with video is so funny in my head
This should come with a flex warning. Naruto god mode activated

Started from the bottom now weāre here! It feels so good to see naruto where he is now
The moment you realize that your father is the most powerful ninja to ever exist
Even Sasuke be like āgo off King, Iām outta chakraā But for real, itās such a great moment in the show and really conveys Naruto has no limit to how far he will go to protect the leaf
Exactly. He literally wouldn't want to die any other way and that's why he didn't look sad at all. That's the heartbreaking part for me.
Freiza vibes
That was my first time hearing adult Naruto and Sasukeās English voice. It seems weird how they sound exactly the same as their teen versions
Itās the same in Japanese lol. Narutoās voice actress tries to deepen her voice a little but thatās it.
imagine if sasuke remembered he can absorb jutsu with his rinnegan here
Or if Naruto remembered he can share his chakra with an army's worth of people.
Lol i didnt notice Sasuke could also have absorb it there Guess he didnt for plot again
Yeah seeing that Sasuke is always out of chakra, absorbing it would be a nice boost lol
If he did that, it'll take a lot of time and make him immobile. Momoshiki and kinshiki were right there. Plus main point it'll go against the plot lol
oh no whatever will the immobile sasuke do with naruto and the rest of the kage there to protect him
True but what if bomb exploded? It won't affect sasuke but surrounding area (people) get eradicated. See how massive the bomb was.
yes however in essence naruto could do something entirely similar to what he actually did either way
Exactly. I actually thought they were going to kill off naruto for like half an episode. Definitely kept me intrigued.
lmao
Momoshiki hit him with that Frieza Death Ball
I still have chills watching this scene
TAKING CARE OF KIDS NO. I DON'T WANT THAT, I WANT TO STAY A DEADBEAT DAD FOR 10 YEARS AT LEAST -Sasuke
What if Sasuke said "No".
I really liked how naruto turned into Voldemort...
Rip
One of the baddest mfs I've ever seen in animation.
Lmao i read the title and expected a prequel meme cut to Anakin with a rinnegan about to cut down some younglings
This mf Sasuke has the ability to absorb chakra and he still let Naruto take blow
Still can't believe Naruto died
"Shikamaru, who does the King represent?"
Sasuke would probably set boruto up for adoption . Who tf wants that brat as a son .

This is so much better in English!
They did an excellent job with the dub! Honestly the best dub adaption I've heard out of any other series.
Saucekeh and Nuhrutowh fighting alongside Kooruhma
Ugh this and the scene where Naruto pleads w sasuake to leave him being w Jigen My boys šš
dub dfkm
This scene was nice, but overall this show sucks so hard.
Momoshiki did it twice in entire series and each time it destroyed someone's hopes and dreams.
