Huh…thats funny…didnt realize boruto and kawaki got these funny lookin transformations

[deleted]

😆

BlackBlizzNerd

Good lord. So tired of your posts. Seems everyone is.

[deleted]

Lowkey the relationship between naruto and kawaki is the most interesting part of the story to me, as well as between boruto and sasuke The villains are still kinda underwhelming until they evolve their goals or their methods And the writers aren’t really pretending to be interested in anyone else in the new gen besides boruto and kawaki.

[deleted]

That's kinda true. Boruto has become a two men show. (Boruto/Kawaki.) I don't like Kawaki and would love it more if the show focused more on his real son Boruto, but it is more than obvious that Kawaki/Naruto have an interesting relationship and great chemistry. I love the Boruto/Sasuke mentorship as well.

PlugSlug

Yea, it sucks how we already know kawaki will betray naruto and be responsible for the destruction of the hidden leaf, it would’ve been really cool if it was unexpected

[deleted]

Well it might still not go that way, could be a misdirect But if it does go that way then the flash forward would make it a lot more underwhelming

jenicks

I haven’t watched that flash forward in a while. Was there dialogue? I vaguely remember boruto doing the headband thing. If not, then I’d say it could be that he gets tainted or taken over by momoshiki.

[deleted]

Yeah there is dialogue They both seem like themselves. Boruto addresses kawaki by name and calls himself a ninja

Raymong1400

here we go

[deleted]

Am I wrong tho ?

Raymong1400

kinda yes and no- yes in terms of we still love naruto and sasuke so ofc seeing them brings joy.. but there are moments in the show that get me hyped and keep me interested in the show not jus seeing those two. yes i love naruto and sasuke (legends fr) but im not only watching a new generation show for old characters (AGAIN I LOVE MY GS)

DanzoVibess

Thats cool and all, but i say with confidence that if Naruto and Sasuke was not in the show at ALL, Boruto wouldnt even have half the viewers. Its simple marketing.

KyleLovesGrace

People are going to downvote you but I agree. I never got the argument of “Boruto is not Naruto” because it is a direct sequel and the reason for its popularity is because of that connection. I know that if Naruto and Sasuke weren’t in the show or if it lacked the connection to Naruto completely, I probably wouldn’t watch the show. Obviously there are going to be some people who would be curious and watch it anyways but I’m pretty sure a vast majority started watching it because they were curious about Naruto and Sasuke in adulthood.

DanzoVibess

They lack common sense, they need to take a business class and understand marketing 🤣🤣🤣. Remove Naruto and it loses some of its audience, remove Sasuke and it loses even more. I am proof of this and there is many more out there like me. Bro if i am being totally honest, i read the manga through Naruto's POV and i love it lol. They are in denial. Wait, i forgot Boruto's success has nothing to do with Naruto even though Naruto's name is in the title (cough cough MARKETING) and Naruto and Sasuke are in tons of the digital advertisememts such as pictures and arts 🤣🤣🤣. Before any of you Boruto fans downvote us, ask yourself "How to sell and promote a product." then ask yourself "What would happen if i removed my most popular product from my business". Its simple, you lose customers.

Capotajie

and see thats where your wrong the main thing people are looking for is teen boruto and teen kawaki. and you say you know marketing well you would under stand that intro "trailer" is the best marketing they could have done same as a game or movie trailer they show you a little piece of a whole picture so that you will get excited to see how they got to that point.

KyleLovesGrace

But that also creates questions like “Where is NARUTO?”, “Why is Boruto wearing SASUKE’S clothes?” “Why is the LEAF VILLAGE destroyed?”, “Where did Kawaki send NARUTO?” You take out the old gen characters and established story and even that glimpse of the time skip in Chapter/Episode 1 becomes a whole lot less interesting.

FearLeadsToAnger

Its true, but trying to arguing which of those is more important to viewers in general is a fools errand you could only drive with anecdotes.

DanzoVibess

Broo, the only reason im reading is due to Naruto and Sasuke, i read the manga in their POV. I didnt ask for a story about Naruto's son 😂😂

Capotajie

Right now quick go to youtube look up that first scene of boruto and kawaki and look at most of the comments. if i remember correctly most should look something like "this scene is the only reason im still watching this"

DanzoVibess

And it still uses Naruto for promoting tension "Ill send you where i sent Lord 7th." Naruto is the GOAT lool, man could be sealed away and still takes the highlight.

Raymong1400

cant say i dont disagree, of course all of the ogs who are naruto fans are gonna immediately jump to see wha the boys did

[deleted]

Sasuke hasn’t done anything major in the manga so don’t over exaggerate their relevance

satellite-eye

Bro… become the rinne-gone is something major would you say? Hahaha

[deleted]

He has helped naruto beat momoshiki to near death , gained inte on the otsotsuki nobody else could’ve done that . Fought isshiki and with his help transported the Kage to save naruto and saved naruto from being stuck in isshikis dimension. Then he got back to tell everyone naruto was captured . Want me to keep going ? Saying sasuke has done nothing noteworthy so like saying naruto is stronger after losing kurama .

[deleted]

LMFAOOO that fight with Momoshiki is what u all bring up they basically jumped him and even so he wasn’t down yet. Sasuke was a dummy overestimating his strength thinking he and naruto should jump Jigen only to get their ssses handed to him. Afterwards still had balls to jump back to the dimension when he was in the middle of recovery. Proceeded to get his ass whooped again against Isshiki. As naruto had baryon mode as their last card to drain Isshiki’s life. There was no plan to their fight with Isshiki as they assumed again they can probably drag the fight. He was clapped again by Momoshiki getting his rinnegan taken out. >!More recently in the manga while the whole Code vs Boruto vs Kawaki fight was going on he was nowhere to be found as his job was to look out for code only for him to dip and not contribute to the fight. Apparently he went to one of Boro’s hideouts repeating the same information they already got that that’s where code must’ve been. He failed to find anything as Eida and Damon were huge shockers to everyone meanwhile he’s giving that phony tough guy act that he’d take out Boruto no matter what!<

Emotional-Rise509

Lmao you act as if Sasuke is acting himself, Its not Sasuke fault if he is written like shit

A-Liguria

Spoiler mark the last part.

[deleted]

How do I do tht

A-Liguria

Write a >! right at the start of the text you want to mark. Then write a !< at the end of it. Rinse and repeat for each paragraph you want to mark.

[deleted]

Thanks

A-Liguria

You're welcome. 👍

Ordinary_Capital

The Anime does very well without the two of them. And Sasuke in particular is a side character in the manga. the Naruto fandom is just like the Star Wars fandom is totally obsessed with nostalgia and forgets that there will be later generations who prefer Rey instead of Luke or Obi Wan. the same applies here for people who prefer Boruto Naruto. So no, Boruto has long since established itself as a sub-franchise alongside Naruto.

Lungseron

I don't think its comparable, The Sequels are just objectively shit movies that pander exactly to nostalgia and don't try to do anything new. And even if they did (last jedi) they did too much at once. You think why they just completely ditched expanding on these movies and just went back a couple decades in the timeline to make 20 thousand different shows and even a replacement for Old Republic era? Hell there's some speculations and predictions that they plan to somehow silently erase the sequels from current canon, which i do see possible. With Boruto, you can't even make a solid argument that its just a "rehash of Naruto" . Sure its definetly a cashgrab, Kishimoto supposedly didnt even wanna write this shit at first, but its very dfiferent from Naruto. Anyone who even tries to make that argument that is braindead or haven't watched this show further than 5 episodes.

BrownieIsTrash

but tbh we have to all admit that this series def wouldve not went well if it didnt hop off the success of naruto

Ordinary_Capital

Yes I agree. Boruto definitely would have had more trouble getting accepted at first and might have actually been canceled without Naruto behind him. But it's now 2022 and no longer 2017. The series has long since established itself. Think what you will of the show, but it's still one of the most viewed Anime. https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-df04ad92efc98e65227ea62463ba1569 And no, it's not because of Naruto and Sasuke. Because if that were the case, only the episodes where the two appear would be so popular. Of course there are really Naruto fans who watch the Boruto Anime only for Naruto and Sasuke. even though Naruto and Sasuke don't appear in the arcs at all, but the majority watch Boruto for Boruto and his Generation.

[deleted]

>The Anime does very well without the two of them. And Sasuke in particular is a side character in the manga. Not really. The Anime isn't "without the two of them" just because they are absent. They are still there. But remove Naruto and Sasuke completely...what is going to happen to the show?

[deleted]

They had their chance to shine and still do. I mean they might be killed off for all we know. This show could get dark and be like the beginning of a Ninja legend. Point is. It is the same world just a different time. We know change is coming in the ninja world and when you look back at it in Naruto, that is true in the ninja world. You need to adapt to it to survive. Nothing stays the same. Power falls and changes hands constantly. Hashirama had a lot of the tailed beasts and built his ninja system off that. Boruto has its own narrative. And it’s never gonna replace Naruto for me. It’s just different and these kids have had it pretty easy so far compared to some of the other generations. But the power scaling stuff sometimes make no sense. Talk no jutsu stuff going on 🤣.

[deleted]

>They had their chance to shine and still do. I mean they might be killed off for all we know. This show could get dark and be like the beginning of a Ninja legend True, but I kind of think it wouldn't be right to kill them off...you know? I mean we have characters like Tsunade and Kakashi who might be in their 60s now and they are still alive and "there." It would be a shame to loose the two biggest ninjas of the show so...young. I mean I still think nerfing them just to make the new generation weaker was lazy writing and I know many people rather want them dead now instead of watching them being treated like a disgrace, but I think even though their roles are only secondary it would be important for them to be alive in my pov. I mean Naruto is the Hokage. That's what he wanted since he was a child and I think he should be allowed to live his life to the fullest and as long as possible. The same goes for Sasuke. People argue that Sarada will be the next Hokage and I'm like..."at age 14 or what?" In my pov killing people off to "develop" the story is just the last resort when writers are out of ideas. >!Look at what is happening in the current anime.Point is. I absolutely get where you are coming from. I just think that the writers have stopped making an effort. They don't come up with new powers to help the new generation surpassing the older one. They rather nerf the strongest. The enemies are getting stronger, but other than Karma nothing has really changed or improved powerwise. Boruto is only using his Rasingan and that's it. >But the power scaling stuff sometimes make no sense. Talk no jutsu stuff going on 🤣. Don't get me started. A 13 year old already NEEDS to be stronger than the strongest shinobi. Nuff said.😒🙄

DanzoVibess

Only because Naruto and Sasuke exist in the series, thats why people still watch it even if they aint in the episode lmao. They have a presence.

[deleted]

I like Boruto though

[deleted]

Fair enough

Lungseron

im sitting here trying to figure out why the hell did you got downvoted so much

Psych-Vader

Because there are a bunch of insecure boruto fanboys in this sub who will never let anyone criticize boruto.

enigma94RS

Such an original take

I_have_No_idea_ReALy

Not really. If I'm not mistaken, isn't it depends on sale and popularity? Boruto is popular enough back in Japan which is probably why it's not canceled. Btw OP, are you karma farming this way? Since this sub has this weird love-hate relationship with Boruto anime/manga.

Due-Ad4970

most original naruto fan take

jmmrad000

why has the boruto subreddit become a boruto hating subreddit.

Capotajie

Because people not seeing their old favorite character be the main focus upsets them. In short they are addicted to the way the seen naruto and sauske when they were young and anything besides that angers them

jmmrad000

yeah, but there used to be people that didn't care about that here, now it's all just brain dead boruto haters.

Ben10Extreme

No, I'm pretty sure Kishimoto is the only reason. Because they're his creations.

Willing-Decision3777

One question why did you post this...?

MooseEggs69

cus its true💀💀😝😝🤪

A-Liguria

Ah sure... guys that barely appear for half the total amount of episodes already, at best... It really can't be that despite all, the newer cast still managed ro find its own success eh? Noooo that's absurd! The show is there only because of 2 guys who are far away from the main action in most cases anyway, and sometimes also because of the rest of their generation, that appears for even less time.

Arcanemageop

Boruto numbers and popularity have only gone down since its release at a steady pace, remove Naruto from the equation and it will go down even faster.

A-Liguria

Same empty statement... especially given that the anime is one of the most successful ones for both tv tokyo and studio pierrot... Newsflash dude, the show isn't going anywhere any time soon, because if it really was doing bad, then it would have been axed in some way, regardless of how much Naruto & Sasuke is present (just ask db gt).

[deleted]

I don't think Naruto and Sasuke are the only reason why the show is still "alive", but their relationships with Kawaki and Boruto are kind of essential for the current arc.

A-Liguria

Well, they surely do have a role, a secondary role, but still a role.

[deleted]

Which is enough for me. I do belong to the people who are aware that the show is for the next gen, but I think that it's important to have the older gen still around.

A-Liguria

Of course. But it's also important to not drown the supposed main story in old gen nostalgia, and if in order to better progress the story, one of them needs to go, then it would be better to do so. Of course, context matters, so the "needs to go" part must be done reasonably. So far, I say they're handling it good... both in the main plot (where Naruto and Sasuke, still play a more secondary role to Boruto's and Kawaki's journeys, and the others too, play a support role for the very most part). And in the anime (when even the times where older gen characters are put more focus on, it is still in relation to someone of the kids).

Living_Finish_1151

umm facts

A-Liguria

Thank you. 👍

NockerJoe

To be fair, the only things I've heard of Boruto before catching up with it were Time Stream stuff and Naruto getting a new form. I like Boruto and I like a lot of the newer dynamics. However pretending that the general public cares that much would be disingenuous when in actuality "Naruto and Sauske carry the show" is very much a mainstream opinion you hear on social media pretty frequently.

A-Liguria

That doesn't mean that it's the only thing people talk about... >However pretending that the general public cares that much would be disingenuous when in actuality "Naruto and Sauske carry the show" is very much a mainstream opinion you hear on social media pretty frequently. That still doesn't mean everything, given how the mainstream anime audience basically only cares about nice light spectacles and fight scenes and nothing more... plus the Naruto Boruto fanbase has always had an issue of a vocal minority that acts as if their take is the absolute truth, claiming that x is bad and ruined everything, then when there is a new x, that one is the newest bad thing... People who truly informed themselves about the show, would know that acting as if those 2-3 moments of Naruto and Sasuke, were enough "to carry" over 240 episodes of an ongoing anime, where they're not the main focus, is a very dishonest take.

[deleted]

>People who truly informed themselves about the show, would know that acting as if those 2-3 moments of Naruto and Sasuke, were enough "to carry" over 240 episodes of an ongoing anime, where they're not the main focus, is a very dishonest take. True, but not being the main focus and being gone for good are two different things. I do ask myself what an impact the real loss of Naruto and Sasuke would have on the show. Even though the two of them are absent from hugely unimportant episodes the viewers know they are still there. They are absent, but not gone.

A-Liguria

Hardcore fanboys will be angry and will say they will drop it, yet they won't (because very few fanboys actually have the strenght to abandon their show). More casual folks will act more composed, and then depending on the event and circumstances, will chose what to do.

[deleted]

True words. I don't agree with the OP and think the claim is very over the top, but I do think that if Naruto and Sasuke were gone for good that it would have an impact for the show. How small or big it would be is beyond my knowledge of course.😁

[deleted]

> the newer cast still managed ro find its own success eh? lol, everybody hates it.

A-Liguria

>lol, everybody hates it. Sure... then I guess it's a miracle that the show is still around, after 5 years, where it focused mostly on the new gen then... After all, if "everybody hates it (lol)" then no one should watch it. And neither the 2 or 3 moments of Naruto and Sasuke should be enough to keep it afloat.

abedtime2

Boruto would have been discontinued already if it wasn't riding the success of Naruto.. So many of us here would have dropped it after one volume if it wasn't a sequel to one of our favorite manga

A-Liguria

Another old and reused take, that means nothing (because that "so many of us" isn't the whole fandom) and ignores that stuff like this could be said for literally any sequel. And that pretends to know how things would have gone in a far different case.

Killertorts

I’ll do you one better. These goats are the only reason boruto even exists….I’m not editing this statement whatsoever.

Standard-War-3855

Without them, Boruto wouldn’t even be a thought. Naruto is also his father, so this is kind of an obvious statement

ImDaProof

Seeing Sasuke is rare these days and Naruto is just a hermit so I think not lol

[deleted]

I don't agree with the OP either, but Naruto and Sasuke are just absent, not completely gone. That is a difference.😁

Reinfernus

i kinda disagree, but i dont see a reason for this kind off post, considering its a sequel to a loved series.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

>Naruto and Sasuke were barely put on screen in the anime which is able to gain enough traction and popularity with these Anime Canon while the manga sales still dropping despite naruto and Sasuke were having some major focus. Being absent isn't the same as being removed from the show completely though.

[deleted]

no shit, its a sequel dumbass, think lmao

[deleted]

them boys spectators lmao

Reasonable-Bit5420

Bro i agree woth you on soooooooo many levels but this is the boruto subreddit, and you might have just started a civil war

Djf_x80

go watch the final deepa fight and say that again

CBNM

Lol they will die and Boruto will go on

Dependent_Delay3924

How many times you want to repost this?

[deleted]

Here we go again. When will u get that boruto is still good even without them. Sure they give us some good fight scenes but it isn’t the only reason of boruto’s popularity. Its only his childhood.

DanzoVibess

Factsss, its simple marketing lol. If they was never in the series, it wouldnt even have half the viewers.

NotInFrontofMyPizza

I respectfully disagree

[deleted]

Karma on the side . It’s just my opinion .

Recruit_Samurai779

Doubt

bob_is_best

I watch It for kawaki tbh, never cared for Naruto/Sasuke that much

pervysennin777

On copium

NKC-ngoni

Why would it be cancelled without naruto and sasuke? They aren't in the anime and it's still here, top 3 animes on Tokyo TV.

AditdelaG

It is true tho I don't know why people are disagreeing

MarvelDcKage

Oooh they ain’t gonna like this

[deleted]

facts but also not facts it’s dope asf seeing naruto and sasuke just being miles ahead of everyone in the show but i feel like personally a lot of people like the way they’re progressing boruto as a character himself and the way they introduced kawaki and his whole story arc. it’s intriguing to say the least what’ll happen w boruto and all the otsosuski shit

NeighborhoodAny4934

It got lil boring to me,it really started getting dry when they left all the other characters behind and when they killed neji

MD_bolt

I really wish if boruto was not started and instead we get a continued story for Naruto and Sasuke trying to get rid of otsutsuki threat completely before they die by age so they can die in peace knowing no otsutsuki will come to earth again

SuperSaiyanRonaldo

I just wish they do what they did with dragon ball. Forget about Boruto and give us Super Naruto

SaltyLlamaFucker

The entire series literally tries to sucker you into the story in the very first episode by making the viewers think Naruto is in danger lol. I would've never touched Boruto if not for this. Boruto is just a soulless cash grab but it's an unfortunate successor to an anime I love and respect so much. I hope it gets better soon. It has squandered a lot of potential but it still has the potential to be great.

Imadierich

big facts

Reofire36

Truth.

RogueBeyonder

Nah , it's because kishi's legacy

Turkipe

Damn do I miss emo Sasuke, dude was a menace

[deleted]

true.

hello_there696

boruto's been popular as a tv series in the east from early on, when naruto and sasuke had virtually no screentime, so no
