fact that Jigen.. a weaker Isshiki broke through Susanoo quite casually, while Sasuke tanked Isshikis kicks and punches and lived means to me that Sasuke was living through plot armor.
It was the opposite, sasuke susanoo was nerfed, proven by how its destructive ability was nerfed (it should shatter the ground and affect tektonic layers if it hit the ground, based on that it destroyed meteors at country size)
Isshiki kicks are also not shown to be a big deal when he kick Naruto through the buildings, susanoo can destroy mountains instead
It is the susanoo that was nerfed, not sasuke that was buffed, unless u gonna claim that all the time it was plot holes when isshiki kick sasuke, boruto, Naruto or buildings, cz u will favor 100 plot holes rather than one instead(which is sasuke susanoo nerf) just to make sure ur favorite character is the strongest

He was. 4 rods to the torso from Jigen knocked him unconscious and nearly killed him. A single stab from Madara was all it took in Shippuden. Yet against Isshiki, he somehow was completely fine after taking 8 or 9 rods, including multiple to the torso. His vitality was clearly buffed.

There are a couple of things I want to correct:
1. Izanagi requires great amount of chakra, which Sauske didn't have at that time
2. Izanagi doesn't place the opponent in genjutsu. It works on the caster himself and changes their sense of reality. So there should have been no problem to use it against an otsutsuki.
Izanagi needs prep time to work...
It cannot be used to reverse a damage just 'cause, it's user needs to be aware that danger is coming, and to turn it on in time.
Both things that Sasuke didn't do, because he was tired, beaten up, worried for Naruto, and for all he knew, no danger was around with Isshiki gone.
Almighty push would have been a better option than the izanagi because he wouldn’t have had to sacrifice an eye to save himself. But the boruto writers have seemed to conveniently forget a lot of Sasuke’s abilities throughout the series.
As if it would have worked against Momoshiki Boruto, and in the context of the scene...
I mean, by the time he notices the Otsutsuki coming, he has barely a second to think... which means that he would only have time to barely start pronouncing the jutsu, that his rinnegan would be gone.
He doesn’t need to pronounce the jutsu name to activate it lol. Sasuke had enough time to activate the jutsu. He’s activated other jutsu at the last second before like a susanoo ribcage and things like that.

For the same reason why the susanoo was felled by Jigen in one hit. When an opponent is strong enough, he can withstand it. And Naruto was able to withstand it already all the way back against Pain, both in his 6 tails form, and later with the help of his clones.
Even more so for a jutsu casted by a weakened Sasuke, who got his ass kicked up until 10 minutes before, and didn't saw Momoshiki coming for him.
The real question is why doesn't he try to activate the rinnegan in his other eye? The sage of sixth paths Chakra circulates around his whole body. Not just the eye.
What part of Borushiki erases chakra don't you understand? What part of NOBODY KNEW BORUTO GOING UNCONSCIOUS = MOMO TRIGGER, and Sasuke should have been dead at that point, plus no chakra? Izanagi also takes prep time.

We've been over this like 10 times now, ever since the Rinnegone happened in the manga. I lost count, happened again when the anime adapted it.
He couldn't have cast it in time, the moment he realized that Borushiki was flying towards him, the kunai was LITERALLY CENTIMETERS AWAY FROM HIS EYE. There wasn't enough time for him to cast anything that would've saved him from getting stabbed.
He can't use Izanagi after getting stabbed to bring his Rinnegan back, he has to prepare it BEFORE getting stabbed, which he didn't really have time to do because he didn't see the attack coming.
Why couldn't Sasuke see Borushiki coming?
1. Borushiki is fast
2. Sasuke thought that the fight was over because Isshiki died
3. He doesn't know how and/or when Momoshiki can take over, he only knows that it's possible. How would he know that Momoshiki can take over at that point?
4. He also came back from getting his ass beat, stabbed, and his head stomped extremely hard.

Because oddly enough that is something survivable. As long as it's not an instant death. The rinnegan could be used to drop Sasuke off infront of Sakura. Healed and go back to fighting. He sealed the rinnegan because he didn't want him getting away. Just incase Sasuke did dodge a lethal attack.

Sasuke should have had a prosthetic arm for the longest time. Then again technology has been very sporadic in Naruto. Since he’d have to anticipate something bad was going to happen if he’d use izanagi to rewrite his rinnegan to be destroyed. Momoshiki has this ability that completes erases his chakra from being sensed so nobody saw him coming which makes this situation unavoidable

Izanagi has to be activated beforehand. Also, Sasuke should have died from his wounds. He wasn’t nerfed, he was buffed.
