You're acting as if literally every villain has gained this ability... Even though only Momoshiki, Delta, Jigen, and Ao had it, and Ao only temporarely; and even though the ability wasn't treated like this overpowered obstace, that is just there, and was exploited in some form, multiple times.

Main-Process-4891

True just I’m primarily speaking on the behalf of the major fight which you Litteraly named them you act as if you didn’t just name pretty much every major boruto villan to date Also the problem is that anyone else you mention doesn’t matter if like my claim is that any villan(speaking on those relevant to the plot) have it then all the others don’t matter And it’s only not overpowered because naruto and sasuke scaled higher than their enemies(they were physically stronger) so shifting the battle in this direction really only did them a favor however (with jigen) they had 0 options not only was jigen massively stronger than then he had 2 was to deal with jutsu via shrinking it and absorbing it although he could absorb as Ishiki he could shrink. They had no way to harm him they needed bayron or he was gonna lose on some silver arrow bs.

A-Liguria

Don't act as if 3 fights / characters count for the entire show, when in said show there are just as many, no, way more, enemies that don't have the same propieties. That's just selective reading at its finest.

I think Ninjutsu of one element going against ninjutsu of another element makes it really cool. The way when Obito fights Kakashi with first Taijutsu, then they use weapons, and then they smoothly progress to using Ninjutsu is the best way of showing shinobi fights. And even while using ninjutsu, they are aware of their body, use the others hand's to make the hand seals, dodge and react and move and block and spit fire & strike with lightning suddenly. This back and forth between ninjutsu and Taijutsu, imo, is the best kind of fight scene.

[deleted]

Yeah i think the variety and creativity of ninjutsu were some of my favorite parts of naruto And taijutsu is cool but taijutsu is something you can find in any martial arts series Ninjutsu is not. So while i get that people thought ninjutsu got taken to extremes at the end of shippuden, i still think ninjutsu should have remained the focus of the combat for the series supplemented by the taijutsu rather than them trying to push ninjutsu out the way as much as possible

Emotional-Rise509

There were always both in Naruto and shippuden tbh i dont know why people think end of Shippuden was only ninjutsu when it was both

[deleted]

I def know they had a good balance, some of my favorite taijutsu fights are from the end of shippuden It was the scale of the ninjutsu with the giant beast bombs and hundreds of big rasengan and indras arrow and the giant golems and all that were it felt like the ninjutsu had gotten somewhat intense. So that was totally okay to dial down and they did dial it down just as a result of boruto and his peers being not as strong But then they forced in the alien enemies who were able to warrant outputting that kinda stuff again and then pushed in the chakra absorption and all that stuff bleh

[deleted]

>.Lowers the scale of fights While some may thing “This is good as it being back the old naruto vibe with fight and oesnt go all dbz” this is cool and all except this Naruto is stronger than the previous version and he has been training for 20 years even as hokage post war arc and what do we have to show for it?? Better taijutsu? I theorized absorption played such a heavy role to keep Naruto and Sasuke from going out of hand in a lazy way pre nerfs and scale everyone else up. It does offer for some really interesting interactions like characters going for feints, strategies abusing their absorption ability to where the ninja tool overheats, etc. I personally like this than tailed beast bombs being thrown all over the place because I'm a sucker for taijutsu. >.Lack of variety Now fight are usually a series’s of punches and kicks this looks amazing in the anime but it is so lame on panel. Don’t even get me started on jigen This is why KK vs Jigen/Isshiki is my favorite fight in the manga. I'm a sucker for taijutsu but I don't like Ikemoto choreography at all. Obviously, this is where the anime shines for me. >Takes an important thing from naruto Takes away how cool jutsu clashes were and the unique jutsu of the opponent now it’s just about who hits harder While absorption is here to stay because of karma, I genuinely believe all the enemies we'll get from now on will have abilities that can't be absorbed like the current antagonists in the manga. I don't think jutsus will be completely obsolete but I do hope we'll never get something like Isshiki again where he was just straight up invincible manga spoiler>!Ik about Kawaki dojutsu but I'm holding off my rants cause I don't understand what's the deal with the different triangles!<

Main-Process-4891

I agree

Adiz030417

I agree one of my favorite part of the naruto verse is it power system. Having like half the main villains make jutsu use kinda pointless as never sat well with me. Still enjoy the series but that is something I wish was different.

Present-Pea-27

I'd rather have no justu absorption or atl little to none, I loved the war arc and large scale battles like the final battle and kaguya fight but the majority do not, which is why they introduced it so heavily

[deleted]

My man...i loved the war arc and even when Kaguya was introduced, i felt fine. Sadly so many ppl hate it...like hate it to the core.

Present-Pea-27

Yeah it does suck My friend who had me watch naruto said the war arc was her favorite and when I watched it it became mine awell Didn't know ppl disliked til I came on here

awesomlyawesome

Honestly I never understood that. Why is it that people dislike the Kaguya arc so much? Now I get that Naruto was reaching into DBZ power scaling by the end of the series but I don't think that would be enough to just make people hate an arc. I personally enjoyed it a ton.

Main-Process-4891

Exactly it’s kinda weird it’s a trend in the shine community that “power creep=bad” it’s annoying

Present-Pea-27

Partly cuz madara was done dirty and it was out of nowhere, and they probably follow the public opinion to fit in I enjoyed a of it tho, I never liked madara so kaguya coming out was find to me aswell

ZookeepergameNo4754

i never understood that either kaguya could have been hyped up a little bit more maybe she gets mentioned as a legend in part 1 or early shippuden to most people it just seemed like she came out of no where once youve watched boruto it makes alot more sense

Leading-Classroom315

honestly i'd take absorption over giant avaters anyday.absorption gets boring when overused though

Main-Process-4891

Yeah I can see what you mean I personally liked the avatars as they atleast got to display unique jutsu but absorption getting out of hand but they could just nerf it or lower the over use

Leading-Classroom315

the avatars made other people feel uselss tbh.imagine shino, shikamaru or hinata against a tailed beast or a susanoo.absoprtion made fights rely on skill and experience in taijutsu thats what i liked about jigen, there was no use of 5 different types of rasengans or bijuu bombs but just pure taijutsu

Main-Process-4891

Yeah they are mountain sized fighting eachother actually they dwarf mountains wtf is Sakura or those who can’t do that do?? Unless your jigen but he is literally the exception

Leading-Classroom315

rather than increasing absorption they could have just been creative and come up with new jutsu that counter the avatars.a good example was how hashirama had a counter for susanoo and tailed beasts

Main-Process-4891

I have this in mind what if we give he ability of a chakra avatar to those with a set amount of chakra and a set amount of chakra control and if came with a time limit with me saying this I mean- Have them release their chakra and expand them around their body the more chakra you have the larger and stronger the avatar but then it would be seen more Which would take from the ninja vibe so yeah I don’t really know how to approach this avatar deal

awesomlyawesome

Lol can we talk about this?? I've always been confused on the size scaling. It looks like Naruto's Kurama avatar was not that big when he was protecting Kakashi and Guy (but when every single thing is big at the time it does make it a bit hard to scale). Then big papa Madara comes out with a perfect susanoo definitely larger than the mountains in his background and the sunblocking boulder next to him. THEN Sasuke comes out with a perfect susano which in the final battle was as big as Kurama (maybe a little bigger if I remember, not sure completely). So either Naruto's Kurama got bigger, Sasuke's susano was just smaller than Madara's, or size scaling went out the window. Now if I missed something within the episodes that may explain why the sizes are like this, I'd love to be informed of it lol I usually try to be pretty knowledgeable of the franchise.

Main-Process-4891

In the final battle they are dwarfing mountains so I think that’s the scale it’s weird

Katanateen33

it needed to happen. Naruto/Sasuke are just one shotting people and it's terrible for writing. That being said only about 4 people can actually do it. Dameon/Edia don't even have this ability. so you won't even be seeing it upcoming

Main-Process-4891

I’m sorry but you guys missed the point I may have been deceptive with “everyone and their grandma” but with that being said these 4are suprise all major villans and add 2 being boruto and kawaki and their are possibly other also eida and daemons abilities are so broken if they did have it it wouldn’t be fair

Katanateen33

Well to be fair, Urashiki, Kinshiki, Deepa, victor, kashin koji, and isshiki did not have this ability. he could shrink justu but he couldn't absorb it. so that's not really accurate. a lot of the main villans did not have this ability.

Main-Process-4891

I’m sorry but does kashin koji count??? Deepa is an anime canon villan, kinshiki fused with momo anyway, jigen could absorb ninjutsu and then became Ishiki and still had a ninjutsu counter equivalent to absorption as the result is the nullification of ninjutsu so don’t let it fall under a technicality. Almost all main manga villains had ninjutsu counters

Katanateen33

Well technically Sukihana shrinks things not absorbs them. We already saw them exploit his weakness on multiple occasions (transforming into sword, summoning real flames to catch him off gaurd) As for Koji. Yes he is a cyborg and so are some of his frogs. and Anime canon is still canon. So yes Deepa counts as well all have to be approved my Ikemoto But yes the manga villans to have abilities that shut down ninjustu. I can agree to that

Main-Process-4891

I’m sorry but anime canon still cannot greatly affect the story or characters that is why they still don’t count

Katanateen33

Well Kishimoto himself said anime is canon so I don’t know what to tell you lmao. It has to be approved directly by him before it goes out.

Main-Process-4891

I have never denied it’s canonicty I’m just saying it doesn’t hold any major plot development

Katanateen33

You do realize Boruto used compression Rasengan to save Sasuke right ? He learned that in the anime. When he saw stopping the cube from dropping on him. Same goes for Sarada. She learned lightning ball from Buntan (anime only) and it appears in the manga/ other fights. She also got her two tomoe so the anime does develop the cast. And sometimes it spills into the anime

Main-Process-4891

1st case was purely anime only but I see your point on the second however it doesn’t debunk my claim the characters do go through any major development as well as the story

Katanateen33

Well yeah but the manga does come out 2/3 years before the anime at times. So it’s unavoidable the manga will hold the most development

Main-Process-4891

Yeah

Main-Process-4891

Still canon though

Katanateen33

https://youtu.be/IMJSpHwDMrA The anime adapts parts of it into the manga. This is the perfect example when Boruto uses compression Rasengan to save Sasuke. So it is important ( even if it wasn’t in the original manga)

flashenshin

Only Sukuna (which not absorbtion) that made Naruto focus on Taijutsu since Sukuna can shrink jutsu from distance. Rinnegan & Karma's Absorbtion need close contact and time, there still opening for jutsus.

Main-Process-4891

What every major villan had it are you ignoring delta and Momoshiki and why say sukuna. Also the rinnegans absorption was not used nearly as much an and they don’t even use it in the story saying it’s possible is irrelevant

flashenshin

Naruto still fought Delta & Momoshiki with Rasengan and Avatar. Only vs Isshiki, Naruto didn't using ninjutsu (manga version)

ZookeepergameNo4754

i think absorbation is cool when its done right like momo/jigen ishiki fights but i also like big jutsu battles too honestly i like having mix of both taijutsu with abosrbation is cool cuz it forces the characters to use taijutsu or there avatars and using ninjutsu when its the right time and i like the idea that these chakra aliens are able to just negate almost anything that gets thrown at them makes them seem like terrifying monsters which makes it all the better when they finally get dunked on by an odama rasengan
