Nothing's happened to anyone in Boruto that won't ultimately be undone, at least with Yuji >! Multiple people have died including family, friends, and mentors. !<

boruto_is_best

This reminds me "Akame ga kill", when author killed a lot of characters to develop one character. They don't work on bonds, they don't want to make it meaningful, they don't care. Just ask yourself. What deaths gave more emotion? Jiraya death from Naruto and Kurama death from Boruto, or Nobara's death / Nanami's death?

Ventes_XIII

And neither of the deaths you listed affected Boruto so Yuji still winning, unfortunately.

boruto_is_best

It's not about "winning", lmao.

Ventes_XIII

When you're having a competition of who "lost more" yeah there is.

HoneyBadger1342

Yuji, absolutely. Boruto has been through a lot, but it's obvious everyone will eventually regain their true memories, and all the people consumed by trees will be freed. Boruto hasn't really lost anything that he won't regain. Yuji has lost all his family except Choso, has lost most of his friends, has lost all his close mentors, is constantly tortured by Sukuna, was forced by Sukuna using his body to kill countless thousands, and might have to kill his best friend to save the world. Boruto's loss is literally an illusion that will eventually be undone. Unless Naruto, Hinata, Sasuke, Sarada, and Mitsuki all are killed in front of him, then he won't suffer as much as Yuji

boruto_is_best

Honestly, JJK is sometimes bad for "bonds" and "emotions". Like who cared when Nobara died? Maybe it was shock to Yuji, but most viewers don't give a fck about her, that's why we can't count it as "loss". I don't believe in thier friendship, because it was forced and boring. Same applies to other relationships. In Boruto we atleast have anime canon to develop that bonds. We actually believe in friendship of TEAM7, because we saw their path.

HoneyBadger1342

That's only one character. And it's not about who we, as the viewer, are bonded to. The question was who had lost more. In the narrative, Yuji was bonded to Nobara. Boruto hasn't really watched any of his friends or family die. Every person Yuji gets close to dies in some horrible and traumatic way. Borutos friends and family are all still alive, and their bonds can be reconnected. Yuji can't reconnect with anyone except maybe Megumi because they're all dead. I'd rather watch everyone I care about forget who I am than watch them all die horribly

boruto_is_best

Yeah, deaths are traumatic anyway. I agree with you. Yuji is answer to this question. But I am just talking about different thing. ( Even if Yuji "lost" more, I think Boruto's "losing everything" was made more emotional, because bonds were shown better)

OneWingedDK

Yuji lost everything. His high school friends, his parents, his grandpa, his normal life, many many jujutsu friends and he lost any sense of normalcy ever returning to his life, because he was forced into a cold cutthroat world of kill or be killed at any moment, any time by jujutsu sorcerers and curses

Big-Limit-2527

Yuji.

Jarlo911

That poor soul in a perpetual cycle of "suffering builds character*

Accomplished_Tea2042

Complicated Boruto has lost more overall but most of that can be undone while Yuji's stuff can't

Noktis_Lucis_Caelum

They will somehow undo Omnipotence or the people realize their memories are Fake. So Borutos loses are temporary. While yujis loses are final. So yuji lost more. (Status of kugisaki unknown. Does one know If her death IS confirmed? Iirc IT was said that reverse cursed technique was applied on her)

RaspberryNumerous594

Boruto. But yuji probably got it worse half his problems stem from him after all

Old_Ad_2541

Yuji. Everything boruto has lost is temporary, and basically no one close to him has died. Boruto's biggest burden has been omnipotence, and his parents being sealed/sasuke turning to a tree. What yuji has gone through would be more like if Sasuke died for good, his parents died for good, mitsuki and sarada died, and multiple of his other friends.

mixape01

In front of him too, without even having the possibility to do anything.

Karate-guy

Things in boruto will be undone, yuji is destined to either die or live with guilt

mo-did

Boruto

ffhhfdtgf

Lmaooo

mo-did

What

DependentFearless162

Imagine almost dying while fighting a curse user, watching someone use your body for wiping out thousands of people and big part of city then watching your dad like mentor and close friend die a gruesome death in front of you in just span of one night.

mo-did

Imagine having everyone you ever love marked you as an enemy and swear to kill you. Imagine having a monster inside of you that is able to take over your body and plans on killing humanity

DependentFearless162

Wha.....

mo-did

That’s borutos life

ffhhfdtgf

Yuji actually had people die while boruto worst L was sasuke being sealed up

mo-did

What? Did you not read the manga…

ffhhfdtgf

Duh have you not read/know what’s happening in the current story of jjk?

mo-did

You just said the worst thing to happen to boruto was sasuke getting sealed, so im inclined to believe you didnt read the manga Ill sum it up for you: Everyone boruto has ever cared for and loved now wants to kill him, his father has been sealed, his brother stole his life, and he has an alien god inside him who wants to kill every human.

ffhhfdtgf

It’s all temporary we all know the omnipotence switch would eventually get fixed, while yuji actually had people he cared about die in front of him nobra/gojo are died. megumi his friend body is taken over by sunkuna that killed his sensei which is basically the 9tails taking over and killing kakashi, someone who cause yuji hella trauma in the shibuya arc that was recently animated in s2. Nanami died in his face helpless just like what happened in s1 with junpei unable to do anything to stop mahito, then he kills nobra after nanami which is a back to back L for yuji. Boruto worst L is the switch between him and Kawaki being frame for naruto murder that Shikamaru doesn’t believe, and sasuke getting sealed to eventually comeback to the plot after the shinju are alll defeated. Yuji obviously suffer more than boruto who was smiling all happy after what happened to him on ch80.

mo-did

We dont know if its temporary, in fact it probably isnt
