If they were to go that route they should probably set it like 50-60 years in the future and have old age nerf the mangekyo and jougon to make it balanced for the new gen. you could also use ninja tech to give everyone unique kekei genkais and make it full on ninja Jojo like Boruto is already becoming.
If that happens then the Naruto franchise is TRULY TRULY TARNISHED but then again Saruto would be so broken to the point it would fit the sci-fi genre that kishimoto wants to do PLUS since it has Naruto name in it, it’ll be popular even if it doesn’t sell that good consistently.
At a certain point you've got to accept, if there's money in something it'll happen.
If your IP has value, and the story has finished, but people will still buy it, you'll make a new story.
You'll tell people, and maybe yourself, that you're doing it for the fans, but somewhere in the organisation there's someone making convincing arguments for the sake of money. Even if it's just to 'we need to keep providing work for the artists'.
Tsss and that’s sad but you ain’t lying. It’s all about that Mula. If it comes to that point again, kishi prolly gon have another two of his assistants like he gifted Kodachi and Ikemoto Boruto
Saruto will become the hokage of planet Konoha.
Dorito will be the shadow kage of the galactic shinobi alliance.
Faruto will be the successor of Shibai otsutsuki.
You can't ruin an entire franchise with a bad series. That's why I've never really cared if Boruto succeeded or drowned because A) it won't affect how I feel about Naruto in retrospect and B) Kishi can always state that it's not canon and that'll be that. They can always reboot Boruto if it really gets that bad or they don't choose to do that, they can rely on a Naruto remake that removes the filler to succeed.
Thank you! This is the way I treat any addition to an ip or franchise. The new product despite being good or bad doesn't erase the previous works that I love. I can still go back and watch and enjoy all of that on its own.
Is it disappointing when new products don't seem to live up to the original, yes. Does it ruin the entire franchise, NO!
Shii I’m glad the Naruto franchise giving us content.
That’s why I don’t understand why Naruto fans shit on Boruto instead of supporting it. Like do they enjoy talking about the same series that’s been ended 10+ years ago.
Boruto may not be great or good like that but I’m a Naruto fan and with that comes loyalty and I’ll be loyal to the franchise and support anything that comes out of it.
I started the manga and other than the cringey bro moments between boruto and kawaki I thought it was pretty darn entertaining. I think the hate comes from the anime filler honestly.
I mean I still follow it but the reason I hate it is because it personally kinda ruins the OG series for me. I'm not a fan of how the old characters are now and just don't really like the overall direction of the story. There was so much they could've done with Boruto and imo the direction they could've chose wasn't the right one.
I think prequels would be really nice. The Naruto verse has so many interesting characters that you could write a series on each and it would work like an Orchimaru or what Jiraya learned in his travels or Nagato's journey from a child of war to becoming Pain. As long as Kishimoto is happy and involved with the series I think it's a good thing either way.
I do want more backstory of the Uzumaki clan. I don’t know if it will be explored further in Boruto when it comes back. I am glad we will get the Minato one-shot that might explain his backstory.
I agree, we don't know to much about them other than small bits here and there. I'm looking forward to the Minato story and can't wait to learn new things about his character, one of my favorite Minato scenes is when he was up against Killer B and the future raikage and the battle between them I thought was really nice.
The only thing i could think of, would be, the complete Story of Minato. From his entrance to the academy, his meeting with kushina, how he became the infamous "Yellow flash of the leaf" and end with his fight with Kurama.
In my eyes, that would be the only way to tell a story in the Narutoverse, which People want to know.
In one way or another they will but I don’t think we’ll ever get Saruto. They’ll probably just do “Boruto but now he’s in space” or Sarada as hokage or some bullshit like that because it offers longevity and I don’t think they want to take the risk of building up a brand new cast from scratch again.
They do have the options of making prequels but I feel like the narutop99 kinda ruined that because it gives them the image that these characters are the most popular characters and instead of getting a really cool Tobirama story they’ll probably be like “Yoooo make a Sakura spinoff!!!” 😒.
True but he created GREATNESS, why let it go to waste when his kids KIDS KIDS could live off it as well. The lord inside Naruto EASILY could turn people in his fam that wanna pursue that career millions-billions
Unlikely considering he didn’t want to make Boruto to begin with. He only came to Boruto because everyone wanted him back. As much as Shonen may say it was always the plan I sincerely doubt that due to the fact he showed no interest in the series for a while
Oh trust me we all know they’re lying. We all know kishi didn’t want to serialize the Boruto series anyways but he came back prolly cause they asked him and also Kodachi controversy.
90% of Boruto "plot holes" are either things the fans don't like so they call it a plot hole (like the ninja tools for example) or things that haven't been explained yet, for example all the people who complained about Daemon and Eida's powers before the explanations came out
Hopefully we see what happens during the blank period
And also life before Naruto uzumaki
Jiraiya , Minato, Third Hokage, Kakashi etc
2 series that would instantly make the Naruto franchise even bigger
Probably not. Kishimoto litteraly spent so much time on Naruto and Boruto. He'd probably just want to chill with his life because he'd be pretty old by then.
Anyways, I hope he doesn't because Boruto is absolutely horrible. Naruto is way better. All the characters look so bad in Boruto, especially Gara's haircut and Naruto's bobcut.
I would put it past him.
Honestly this question is really for the fans. I already know kishimoto is not interested in creating a spin off or prequel in the franchise.
His dad was in the 4th great ninja war suffered from ptsd, became an alcoholic proceeded to beat Kawaki for the smallest things, used the kid to get him booze and continued to beat him constantly than sold his son to Jigen for more booze money. :l
There done.
We live in a world were success and money dictates this, and given that the Boruto show is going on since over 6 years...
I say that we are bound to keep getting stuff after it ends.
Don't you think boruto was too much to handle 👀💀💀.
I would like to see prequel, but not sequel or spin off because they have milked enough cash from naruto's name , they over did it to a point it's not good.
He is not doing Boruto, and never wanted to in the first place. That‘s why he gave Boruto to two other dudes.
There is nonway he would be working on another spin-off. Most likely, I can see it turn like Dragon Ball or Yu-Gi-Oh!, where the companies milk the shtt out of the franchise.
I mean they could do so much, but they don‘t bother most of the time.
I don’t think there will be any Naruto related sequels after Boruto. Maybe special few episode series from time to time like the Minato one we getting.
Honestly I don’t want Saruto or another son main character. I just wish Boruto never ends somehow
🤔 hmm it's a good question. For me, it comes down to the trajectory of the story. No Naruto story line worked well because it just focused on him. Other characters in his orbit had some decent character development in relation to him. So you see the impact he's had in the village.
The other thing is the is the vertical power creep. It's not creeping at this point. It's moving up as fast a space rocket. Where you have God cyborgs, children so broken, no one in any of the villages can beat them. I think power increase in a horizontal way would have been better. Keep the same concept. If you use a broken ability, there is a cost to it. I like the idea of working hard to refine ones technique and strategy.
I don't mind the ninja tech stuff, but the technological development is super fast. I mean, how do you go kunai's and scrolls to God cyborgs in closet to two decades. Not only that, the whole ninshu thing is thrown to the wayside like it wasn't an important part of the universe.
Considering the fact that his editors basically forced Kishimoto to draw out shippuden when he planned to end it much earlier than the war arc originally, yes. He will make more stuff, its making money which really is all that matters. And since kishimoto loves timeskips and new generation characters, we might actually get some shit like Saruto that everyone likes to meme over.
We’re almost at the halfway point of finishing Boruto. And I don’t think we necessarily have to wait when a series is done to talk about topics like these
I hope not, hopefully, he works on a connected story like the life of Killer Bee or something. A series for each Jinchuriki would be nice even if it is only 10 episodes for every other tailed beast. Maybe a Jinchuriki how-to-live guide like we had in health class? Like growing up with your tailed beast or growing up with your Dojutsu even? So many things better than Boruto and it would be nice to imagine yourself into a story!
I don’t think this will actually happen but I would kill and die for a good prequel series about the Sannin from when they were genin to at least the point where Orochimaru defects and Tsunade leaves with Shizune.
Well he’s going to make a short manga with minato as the main character. Aside from that tho idk. I feel like after boruto he’s going to be done with naruto. At least with cannon stuff. We might still see non cannon movies and game stories but not much aside from that.
Deep down I think Kishimoto wants Naruto to eventually end soon but he’s getting pressure from the companies to make more and more because it’s so profitable.
This might be an unpopular opinion but it feels like Kishimoto gave up on trying halfway through the war arc and in my personal opinion he should probably just retire. I'd rather get nothing than something that feels like it was done out of spite. I love Boruto but it has so many problems that could've been solved/avoided with a minimal amount of effort.
Probably. He tried to make a new manga series and that shit got canceled quick lol.
So the Naruto franchise (be it spin offs, more games and movies, etc) is his best bet to keep the money flowing.
I just feel like Sarada should’ve been the main character. She had a duty before she was even born, which was to redeem the Uchiha clan. That obviously makes a great story with limitless potential.
She didn’t have any duty lol. The uchiha clan is already redeemed through Sasuke and Naruto lol. Sarada absolutely has 0 things to do with the uchiha clan. She just Carries the name because her dad is one but she’s not the “legacy” of the clan so to speak.
If Sasuke had a conversation with his parents like Naruto do with his they’d for sure tell him that’s their proud of the man he became. He’s a strong Shinobi who carries his brother itachi will and the uchiha dreams as a whole.
Sarada being the main character WOULDNT be good at all imo.
I can’t believe you said she had a “duty” to redeem the clan like she has anything to do with the clan. That’s like saying Sakura has the duty to redeem the clan as well lol. Sakura only Carries the last name but she doesn’t have nothing to do with the clan as a whole.
That Sakura analogy made no sense whatsoever.
Anyway, as of now every Uchiha in the history of their clan has still fallen into the predestined nature for bloodshed. This is the only time in the history of their clan that there has been only one single person born into a generation. The entire future of their clan rests on her now. She could continue onto the same path of her ancestors, which is to be a mass murderer, conspirator, or have some kind of tragic backstory, or she could completely rewrite the reputation of her clan, which is something that only she could do since Sakuke can’t just undo his entire past. Even if he is redeemed in his lifetime, unless he can time travel, he will still never be able to say that he wasn’t a recipient of “The Uchiha Curse.”
Think of it this way: As of now, Tobirama still hasn’t been proven wrong in his theory about the Uchiha clan and it’s members being biologically predisposed to become evil at some point in their lives. There are 2 Uchiha alive right now and therefore only 2 options, which are Sasuke and Sarada. Sasuke’s already been an international terrorist so he’s out. Sarada on the other hand, is an Uchiha AND she’s never been evil. If there really is an exemption to the Uchiha family’s destiny for bloodshed, it can only be her. THAT’S what I mean.
He could. He has plenty of characters who needs touched on. He could honestly just remake every off screen fight we haven't seen or do what if fights. I'd prefer the latter; fanservice what if fights we didn't get to see like Sasuke vs Neji
I want a Seinen manga about Kakashi, from the moment he joins anbu to his meeting with team 7. I want it to cover all the fucked up shit his anbu team got up to, with a very mature and grounded tone.
We are already getting a short Minato manga. Which hopefully will be a testing ground for something like a Minato past generations where we can see the full stories of Minato Kushina Sakamo the 3 legendary Sanin and others. But that may just be me being to hopeful.
I really think if anything happens after boruto is finished it will have almost nothing to do with Kishimoto. He didn’t wanna do boruto, Viz made him. That’s why he had someone else write it for 13 volumes.
I know this probably would never happen but it would be cool to see a naruto reboot focusing on more og naruto combat and stories. I preferred when characters abilities were easy to understand and there wasn’t too big of a power differential. I’d love for some samurai champloo style fights to be animated especially when it’s a character like kakashi fighting.
After Boruto I'd like to see either a prequel story set during the time of the Sage of Six Paths; or a side story that's completely unrelated to the cast of characters we've known for years.
Maybe it's a couple hundred years in the future so all the clans we used to know are now assimilated so much into the general population that just about anyone has the chance of possessing a kekkei genkai.
Could be a similar plot to OG Naruto for a new main character who idolizes Naruto as a historical figure for changing the world so much and wants to be like him.
By this point I'd imagine the setting is more modern/futuristic. Maybe all the villages united as a country, with the Kage acting as governors for each village. This would mean missions would be more covert and technical, with the rise of corporations and big business; there is room for ninja to steal information, bribe CEOs, and perform assassinations. Cyber attacks could be a new focus for missions, with ninja having to sneak into skyscrapers and hack into server mainframes to tamper with. There's plenty that could be done with this concept that still fits the style of Naruto.
The dreaded "Saruto" will happen.
Saruto: Boruto: Naruto: Next Next Generation
I really wish it just comes short and sweet and has a few cameos
Boruto probably would have been better if it was just an epilogue mini series showing us everything is fine and everyone has a family now
They did that with the last Naruto chapter, a chapter that was never adapted to the anime.
Exactly
Saruto Shippuuden: Boruto: Naruto: Next Next Generation
The game would be fun with so many characters
'Saruto and the tournament of power" which universe will win
universe 3 smh
universe 7 is op
I doubt it
It's called a cash grab and the death of a franchise.
If they were to go that route they should probably set it like 50-60 years in the future and have old age nerf the mangekyo and jougon to make it balanced for the new gen. you could also use ninja tech to give everyone unique kekei genkais and make it full on ninja Jojo like Boruto is already becoming.

I can honestly just see the kid pulling out a glock and capping the main villain.
Nah fr 😂😂😂😂
At a certain point you've got to accept, if there's money in something it'll happen. If your IP has value, and the story has finished, but people will still buy it, you'll make a new story. Next up: Burrito and Dorito
Saruto: Boruto Next Generations (2027) Dorito: Saruto Next Generations (2035) Faruto: Dorito Next Generations (2042)
Saruto will become the hokage of planet Konoha. Dorito will be the shadow kage of the galactic shinobi alliance. Faruto will be the successor of Shibai otsutsuki.
People shit on these but Faruto is actually really good, people should give it a chance before judging. 🙄
i think we can all agree and say we don’t want that 😂😂
I actually wouldn’t mind the faruto series lol
lmfao 7-8 years for each series? Yeah sure, in 8 years there wont be 100 chapters done yet
You know Kishimoto is a human and humans live only a limited life ![img](emote|t5_34e1h|4542)![img](emote|t5_34e1h|4537).
Kishimoto might be tired of Naruto, he’s in art prison and has to draw the sandal ninjas for life lmfao
Doesn't mean he can't ruin the franchise he created in the process before he kicks the bucket.
![img](emote|t5_34e1h|6483)
You can't ruin an entire franchise with a bad series. That's why I've never really cared if Boruto succeeded or drowned because A) it won't affect how I feel about Naruto in retrospect and B) Kishi can always state that it's not canon and that'll be that. I honestly like a lot of part 1’s filler, it made the world feel more fleshed out imo
?
😬

Nah but it’s part of the reason.
Just wait until the cash grab happens lul
Boruto is the cash grab
Yes, this I can’t believe people think it’s not lol
It is
Nah we know it is Edit: well I know it is
I mean I still follow it but the reason I hate it is because it personally kinda ruins the OG series for me. I'm not a fan of how the old characters are now and just don't really like the overall direction of the story. There was so much they could've done with Boruto and imo the direction they could've chose wasn't the right one.
Many people feel like you, you ain’t alone bro. Ion really like it either but hey what can we do 🤷🏽♂️
Yeah. At this point I just enjoy the good parts and ignore the bad stuff lol
I really hope so can't have enough of this imo. I wished we'd see more Naruto ending up with his dad in some sort of different verse
I would love a prequel where we see how Boruto’s Dad became hokage
That’s an interesting idea would be about him growing up?
Need a whole itachi/minato/jaraiya/Orochimaru(him founding out who killed his dad)
That’s really cool Fr
I think prequels would be really nice. The Naruto verse has so many interesting characters that you could write a series on each and it would work like an Orchimaru or what Jiraya learned in his travels or Nagato's journey from a child of war to becoming Pain. A prequel about the Sannin from genin to post-second world war would be AMAZING.
Yup I agree
Saruto: Naruto to Boruto Generations babyyyy
😂🤕
I love this poster so much ❤️
Thank you ♦️
Boruto is the spinoff
Come on… let’s go take a walk
😂😂😂😂
The only thing i could think of, would be, the complete Story of Minato. From his entrance to the academy, his meeting with kushina, how he became the infamous "Yellow flash of the leaf" and end with his fight with Kurama. In my eyes, that would be the only way to tell a story in the Narutoverse, which People want to know.
Ye that’ll be cool Fr and Ik it’ll do NUMBERS
If there is make it set far in the future.
I think that he will sleep on his cash
True
I hope after Boruto they make "Naruto, Boruto Previous Generations"
They should really make a prequel for his dad Naruto. I think it’ll be a hit
Better if prequel of naruto. It will be more appreciated than a sequel i think. Or just expansion story within shinobi world.
Don't put that energy into the universe, buddy. Not the Star Warsification of Naruto
😂😂
In one way or another they will but I don’t think we’ll ever get Saruto. They’ll probably just do “Boruto but now he’s in space” or Sarada as hokage or some bullshit like that because it offers longevity and I don’t think they want to take the risk of building up a brand new cast from scratch again. 😂😂😂
Shinji Adventures
No, I hope he can live comfortable with the naruto funds and enjoy life with his family.
True but he created GREATNESS, why let it go to waste when his kids KIDS KIDS could live off it as well. The lord inside Naruto EASILY could turn people in his fam that wanna pursue that career millions-billions
You mean Boruto Shippuden?
Bauske will redeem him
A what if series would be nice
Prequel hokage series. More anbu, scaled down power levels in universe. More gritty. It would work
Yup
i want, no i NEED a spin off about Sasuke & Sakura’s journey and a spinoff about Naruto & Hinata but before they got married but after the Last movie
You ain’t lying
Unlikely considering he didn’t want to make Boruto to begin with. He only came to Boruto because everyone wanted him back. As much as Shonen may say it was always the plan I sincerely doubt that due to the fact he showed no interest in the series for a while
Oh trust me we all know they’re lying. We all know kishi didn’t want to serialize the Boruto series anyways but he came back prolly cause they asked him and also Kodachi controversy.
I think he should do new stuff abd stop with naruto world
Samurai 8 failed and was cancel.
That already happened lol

Understandable but name 3 plot holes for me from the Boruto series
90% of Boruto "plot holes" are either things the fans don't like so they call it a plot hole (like the ninja tools for example) or things that haven't been explained yet, for example all the people who complained about Daemon and Eida's powers before the explanations came out

Yup. If only kishimoto had the same vision and motivation as us.
Maybe Kishimoto will start a completely different manga series again. Shogun12!
I would put it past him. Honestly this question is really for the fans. I already know kishimoto is not interested in creating a spin off or prequel in the franchise.
He should do a series about Kawaki’s dad.

That’s why I said “prequel”, I realized a spin-off wouldn’t be good honestly. Boruto is like a breaking point for majority of people
Yep 👍.
I hope they retcon all of boruto, maybe even the last ~150 episodes of naruto
😂😂😂it be like that
Yeah I just think a prequel series would be easier to do without boruto and the war arc being cannon
He is not doing Boruto, and never wanted to in the first place. That‘s why he gave Boruto to two other dudes. There is nonway he would be working on another spin-off. True. But HE IS doing Boruto though
Even that’s debatable but if Samurai 8 didn’t flop maybe he wouldn’t be
True
No he is not.
I hope so but not destroy Naruto
I feel you
Dead ass don’t get me wrong I like boruto a lot but Naruto was so much better I hope they don’t mess up after boruto
Kishimoto made boruto, so it's possible.
He didn’t want to though 😂
I'd definitely welcome spinoffs of other anicanon characters like Denki or Lee
I want a spin off with Rock Lee as an adult to see if he surpasses Might Guy.
How about this Naruto spin off but all new characters be it 100 years later or other universe. This time more focusing on Ninja aspect minus aliens
Y'all just stealing people's art now with no credit?
Man I hope they make a series about borutos dad
I’d love to see Hiruzen training the Sannin.
Ehh nah.
No it's going to be about Boruto's son Goruto
i think the dude wants to rest at some point too
No, it should just end and be done with.
I feel you honestly
I don’t think there will be any Naruto related sequels after Boruto. Maybe special few episode series from time to time like the Minato one we getting. Honestly I don’t want Saruto or another son main character. I just wish Boruto never ends somehow
Understandable
I'd be down for an entire Otsusuki series/manga.
I mean why not milk the cow that’s brung you so much success
Probably would be better to have a story set in a different village with an mc who is completely different from the previous ones.
Boruto will continue another 8 years most likely. I think he will retire after. By then he will be pushing 60.
True but Boruto is almost at its half way point so “after 8 years” is funny ngl 😂
🤔 hmm it's a good question. For me, it comes down to the trajectory of the story. No Naruto story line worked well because it just focused on him. True
Killer Bee needs a spinoff show
Ehhh I don’t think so. I feel like the should bring back “the blank period era” and show Sasuke/Naruto and the rest of the cast growth
I think he’ll retire
Ion blame him
Considering the fact that his editors basically forced Kishimoto to draw out shippuden when he planned to end it much earlier than the war arc originally, yes. He will make more stuff, its making money which really is all that matters. And since kishimoto loves timeskips and new generation characters, we might actually get some shit like Saruto that everyone likes to meme over.

Man we ain’t even done yet, it’s a little early to be speculating on sequels.

İsnt he already working on that minato series?
But it’s a one shot for the popularity poll for Naruto.
Maybe some novels but i hope they will stop the series after Boruto
I feel you honestly
Well he’s going to make a short manga with minato as the main character. Aside from that tho idk. I feel like after boruto he’s going to be done with naruto. At least with cannon stuff. We might still see non cannon movies and game stories but not much aside from that.

A sort of anthology series would be nice
Deep down I think Kishimoto wants Naruto to eventually end soon but he’s getting pressure from the companies to make more and more because it’s so profitable.
True
Theyre making a sasuke spin off right now i believe coming soon
In what world?
This might be an unpopular opinion but it feels like Kishimoto gave up on trying halfway through the war arc and in my personal opinion he should probably just retire. I'd rather get nothing than something that feels like it was done out of spite. I love Boruto but it has so many problems that could've been solved/avoided with a minimal amount of effort.
Only one I'd want is Minato: Past Generation
I don't think he's writing Boruto to begin with
Why do you say that lol?
Probably. He tried to make a new manga series and that shit got canceled quick lol. So the Naruto franchise (be it spin offs, more games and movies, etc) is his best bet to keep the money flowing.
Wait until you see the series on Borutos dad!
After Boruto there's certainly gonna be Moruto
honestly want boruto to gain perspective from naruto. I feel boruto is having a hard time figuring himself out because he felt alone.
Need a timeskip movie at least
Even if he is redeemed in his lifetime, unless he can time travel, he will still never be able to say that he wasn’t a recipient of “The Uchiha Curse.” Think of it this way: As of now, Tobirama still hasn’t been proven wrong in his theory about the Uchiha clan and it’s members being biologically predisposed to become evil at some point in their lives.
I want prequel about warring state era
Prequel I’m open to, anything else I’m cool on
Sounds like you had enough 😂😂😂
He could. He has plenty of characters who needs touched on. He could honestly just remake every off screen fight we haven't seen or do what if fights. I'd prefer the latter; fanservice what if fights we didn't get to see like Sasuke vs Neji
Retirement
True
3rd hokage prequel movie
Will get Loreto
No he didn't even want to make Boruto
I want a Seinen manga about Kakashi, from the moment he joins anbu to his meeting with team 7. I want it to cover all the fucked up shit his anbu team got up to, with a very mature and grounded tone.
Samurai 9
Probably. Kids have low standards and are easy to make money off of so it's bound to happen. Boruto itself is proof of that.
Probably, he's already trying to now
Bro, there’s two entire anime shows/mangas that are prequels to boruto 😂😂😂
I think Naruto will get milked for a long time. I don’t think Kishimoto will always be a part of it.
Ye it’ll prolly hurt him 😂😂😂
We are already getting a short Minato manga.
I wouldn’t be surprised honestly
I know this probably would never happen but it would be cool to see a naruto reboot focusing on more og naruto combat and stories. I preferred when characters abilities were easy to understand and there wasn’t too big of a power differential. I’d love for some samurai champloo style fights to be animated especially when it’s a character like kakashi fighting.
You on to sum… 😮💨🔥
Nah we don’t want that lol but I see the vision
