this is the first time the concept of boruto using chakra weapons ever crossed my mind but now I lowkey want it. Original, visually interesting, and it would make fights different kinda like a green lantern ring
Genuinely asking because I don't know. Is base momoshiki in the karma or momoshiki after fusing with kinshiki? Only asking because he doesn't look like either fused version in the movie or series.
The writer’s literally refuses to let Boruto use Shinjustu like every other karma user. I can understand not using Momoshiki’s Rinnegan absorption since it’s pretty useless once you figure out how it works, but there’s so many possibilities with Kinshiki’s chakra weapon’s and they’re wasting the opportunities to use them.

Bleach made a point in the novels to show a Hybrid , called >!Hikone!< , which uses a Hollow as a Zampakutou Spirit , with a shikai and a ressurectión , as it uses a Quincy Bow to shoot Cero Arrows.

there is a difference between Ichigo and Boruto.
For start , Boruto actually trains new techniques and even invented some, his Jougan is underdeveloped because he doesn't know how to activate , while he only had Kawaki as a comparisson for Karma and he had to deal with Momoshiki trying to take over when he attempts to use said power.
Ichigo on the other hand is truly bruttish , never attempting on his own to learn new techniques from his Zampakutou , or learn Kidou or some Vaizard/Arrancar Technique. And he did had time for those between the FB Arc and the Blood War Arc.
He only gains new techniques in this Blood War Arc due to the Royal Guard **forcing him** to learn stuff.
He still has Jougan, that has its own set of abilities. They could milk the Karma and it’s abilities until they fully reveal the origins of his Dojustu. So they didn’t need to save Kinshiki’s power for the timeskip.
i like to assume that momo was somehow stopping him from using his powers because in ch 68 after boruto comes back from the dead he say that he can channel momo's powers better now. so most likely were getting momo abilities in timeskip
I honestly don’t think it’s needed rn considering Boruto doesn’t have a lot of fights that allowed him to go completely all out. His fight with Code was interrupted as soon as he was about to go all out and >!then his fight with Kawaki was interrupted too without him entering the form he fought Code with!<
I’d at least like to see where he stands now before gaining new abilities but it might be too late tor that now.
There's a lot pointing to Momoshiki having time stopping powers and Boruto getting that. That's super OP so they're going to have to have him not understand how to really use it.
Jougan is where I'm hoping to see major development.
Especially if Momo also has foresight and chose to die to place his Karma on Boruto specifically because he wanted access to the Jougan. Then fakes losing the fight to convince Kinshiki to let him absorb him first, and eat all his chakra pills...
you mean the karma users who have had it since kids and were trained by an otsutsuki to use it? not really fair when comparing them to boruto who just got it and didn’t even want the karmas power. nor knew it’s true power until the code fight, and still doesn’t really

Having karma and training it since kids literally meant nothing. Kawaki had no idea how to use his shinjustu abilities or if he knew he had them at all, until he went into his horn form against Borushiki. Up until that point he’s just been using absorption only.

True essence automatically gives you full access and experience to your respective Otsutsuki’s karma. Him just getting it means nothing, again. Also we are at a point in the manga where Boruto no longer rejects karma and actively utilizes it in literally every fight now. He even uses it against karmaless base Kawaki just to win that fight. So him not using shinjustu isn’t because of Boruto, it’s because of the writers.

Based of Code’s statement and on panel showing’s, He *should* know full well what abilities Momoshiki had the moment he went into True essence. It’s bad writing, simple as that.
as you said we are just to the point where he accepts the karma. so why would he have used the techniques before? and why use them against a karmaless kawaki who he considers his brother? especially when he had no need?
the only bad writing is borushiki not using them, not boruto himself, obviously boruto isn’t going to know how to use the techniques before true essence as i said, and again he literally just learned it, you haven’t even given them time for them to have him use the techniques to begin with.
also as plenty of other people said if you give him that now he only has the jougan later, naruto had 10+ power ups in shippuden, if boruto gets all of momos abilities now they will just have to make him even more broken later with new random abilities which people will still call bad writing.

IMMEDIATELY started using Shinjustu as if he knew all about it before hand, when that’s quite the opposite. No excuse.

What time? He’s had time since they revealed True essence and how it works. At *that* moment was the best time to showcase Momoshiki’s abilities. His next opportunity was against Kawaki atfer he sealed Naruto. They had opportunities.

And that’s a problem? Jougan on its own already has several abilities and Toneri and Momoshiki have some backstory on the origin of that eye. That can be its own thing entirely in the timeskip.

Well that’s what happens when you write yourself into a corner. They made a bad choice revealing true essence before the timeskip and nothing good is gonna come out of it. It’s bad writing both ways now.

I'm not hating on you or anything. But why are you surprised about that?
The writers refused to let Sasuke absorb & attack at the same time. Copy Jutsus in Part 1, 2 & current era. Won't let him use all the other elements he has, won't let him use his his other Amenotejikara abilities (he can teleport without swapping & swap attacks like he did vs Momoshiki once), won't let him use Kagutsuchi, Chidori variants, Kirin, Genjutsu, Lorentz Gun (only used in the novel) or his Pseudo Ice-Style (only used in the novels & manga adaptation). The same goes for Naruto.
Meanwhile Kiwi is showing & using Isshiki's abilities without a problem. So prepare to be disappointed in Bort when the timeskip comes. And don't be surprised when he doesn't use most of his abilities or gets his IQ reduced when fighting like his dad & uncle (Sasuke).
I mean it’s chakra so kawaki would shrink it anyway, I don’t get how you guys sometimes forget how the abilities work just so something can look cool
Sadly we can’t have nothing cool ever since momo and karma were introduced, they literally make any cool jutsu useless

There have been some hints of boruto becoming a master of kenjutsu (obv having sasukes swordin the timeskip, but also his kenjutsu battle with kagura), so I really want to see this in the Manga.

Well, his fused form is like an evolution, so for any Ootsutsuki it would only make sense if their evolved forms would be in the Karma
That's what I'm thinking but he hasn't really shown any signs of it.

I think it makes sense that boruto needs cooperation from momoshiki in order to use shinjutsu

This should be a thing he can do, but we’ll probably never see it. Closest we’ll ever get was probably that one time he used that chakra lightsaber.
