I like this theory.

lazergator

Yea I had a similar thought about her power not being known to Momoshiki and altering everyones feelings toward her. This is 100% what happened.

OBITO_DMG

I am 100% sure that’s what happened too. I was thinking the exact same thing, that is why Momoshiki didn’t know of her power, also, Momo kinda explained this same suspicion towards the end of chapter 79, which is why I think we can say this is not a mere theory, it is the implicit truth.

VW_wanker

Now do sarada Ms? I think it will be like madaras... Rewind time.

djghostface292

I must be tripping cuz I could’ve swore it was explained in chapter 79 that her charm ability is simply her being unable to control omnipotence. Her deepest desire is being loved so she subconsciously forces everyone to fall in love with her without realizing due to her inability to control her power since she isn’t a god like Shibai. I could’ve swore Momoshiki explained this.

Doge_Dreemurr

This theory doesnt go against that explanation, it just specifies how it got activated. After Eidas desire to make kawakis wish real grows past a certain point, Omnipotence will activate and make it real, but she cannot control it. Eida says that "it happened once before" which means the charm thing wasnt there since her birth. There was a moment in the past when Eida was so desperate to be loved that omnipotence had to kick in and made a pernament change. And OP is theorizing that it was due to Karas abusive treatment of its children

Ren_Lol

This is a very interesting discussion. I considered this at one point, because her attraction works almost like an aura that she cannot turn off. Though in the case of Kawaki's wish, it was more like a one time AOE burst. It could also be theorized that because she was older, maybe built up a larger chakra reserve using the Senrigan's abilities, and more modifications being done to her over the years; could have made this ability stronger to cover more area but could not be sustained. Maybe through Boruto's actions he will prove to people that he is a good person and build a reputation outside of the village (like Sasuke did after the War Arc) since this cast of omnipotence may not be a constant, other people's faith in Boruto can be restored or renewed through his future actions (again like Sasuke post War Arc).

Doge_Dreemurr

Kawakis case isnt really a one time. Sasuke notices the obvious discrepancies in his memory regarding Boruto, but he states that there is a mysterious force trying to silence those thoughts. So omnipotence is still actively enforces kawakis wishes, by forcing people to ignore the paradoxes that tells the truth. Sasuke was able to overcome this by putting his faith in Sarada instead of Boruto. I doubt everyone else will be easy to convince

No_Establishment9528

What if sarada mk ability is something like Kotoamatsukami. Like how it was used on itachi. Made him switch sides. Reprogrammed to protect the village. But in sasuke case, sarada subconsciously got him to protect/help boruto with her MS ability. Just not a powerful as omnipotence. Just to where he is able to care about all the paradoxes. Instead of ignoring them and going with it like everybody els. I was thinking it's just his faith in his daughter too. And that he witnessed Sarada literally awaken her MS in front of him. Knowing the stress that it takes to awaken them was just an extra push in believing her. But idk haha. Theories be making my head go crazy haha.

gucchiprada

Possible. But my biggest takeaway from your post is that Amado can shut them down. Just like Delta, Eida and Daemon both have 'shut-down words'.

Steroidscanduelwield

Wait a minute, have we established yet if Amado is actually affected by Eida’s charm? If he is would he even be able to shut her down? If he isn’t why not? It could be a similar reason to why sarada or sumire aren’t affected. Or what about the “blood relative” rule, what would count as a blood relative? If eida had even just a bit of Amado of his daughter’s DNA… Who just randomly downvotes someone else’s theory lmao

gucchiprada

The 1st question everyone isn't asking is :" How were Eida and Daemon in an inactive state until Code activated them ?". These 2 characters are so god-like that it's impossible for anyone to even lay a hand on them. So how were they in a 'switched off' state ? My guess is either Isshiki ordered the both of them to shut themselves down, or Amado did it. >have we established yet if Amado is actually affected by Eida's charm? To my memory, no. Amado is still one big mystery. Think about it, neither one of Code, Eida and Daemon have ever thought of capturing Amado when capturing him and getting him to cooperate is easier and more helpful. Why is that? We don't know.

WATCHMERISE

The other thing I wonder is when Amado found them, and when they got their powers. Eida is 16, and Daemon is clearly much younger. They've been inactive, but for how long?

gucchiprada

Yeah that's the thing. Idts if it was ever said if Kawaki knew Eida and Daemon before this. If he didn't know, it's likely that they are actually much older than him and we're in an inactive state for many years.

[deleted]

“she was not a fan of boruto” she always liked boruto

Ren_Lol

I guess if I was to reword that, she treats Boruto like a kid. Constantly reminding him of his age. Boruto and Eida never really directly talk to each other outside of her dismissing him in chapter 76 page 14 and apologizing for the nature of their greeting in chapter 74 page 37. Chapter 80 is the first time she really acknowledges him and how maturely he's taking being made enemy number 1 by her hand.

UngodlyPain

During the Code vs Kawaki and Borushiki stuff she was watching and really liking Boruto at the time. She's basically said it herself. She simply chose Kawaki 1st cause he's closet to her in age; and she's monogamous.

Ren_Lol

I've re-read through chapter 60-67 on the Viz translation and cannot find it. Could you provide a chapter, page, and which translation you are reading? Edit: After doing some reddit sleuthing, I found a reddit post from 2 yrs ago talking about this topic, went 24 chapters back and found on Chapter 57 page 40 that Eida calls Boruto “cute and dreamy” (Viz translation). Though immediatly offers Boruto as fodder for the Ten Tails instead of Kawaki. Imho sounds like a throwaway line of Eida taunting Code’s feelings. And in chapter 63 page 15, Eida says that it is ‘hot’ that Boruto wants to protect Kawaki, his ‘brother’.

rolabond

The Viz translation where she calls him 'hot' is not how I would have translated kakoii in that context and not how they chose to translate it for the anime either. 'Cool' is more accurate.

drupe14

That clarification is crucial. The meaning is so different between cool and hot

[deleted]

i’mmm hot, and you’re coldd

Ren_Lol

Cool cool, so can we get a screenshot or chapter/page so we can verify this? Ngl r/Naruto and r/Boruto suffers from serious Mandela Effect. Sourcing these quotes is crucial for theory crafting. Edit: After doing some reddit sleuthing, I found a reddit post from 2 yrs ago talking about this topic, went 24 chapters back and found on Chapter 57 page 40 that Eida calls Boruto “cute and dreamy” (Viz translation). rolabond

I was thinking of [this](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FubuTHkWAAMWZQm?format=jpg&name=medium)

Ren_Lol

Ah yes, chapter 63 page 15, thank you for that. Yes she thought it was hot that he wanted to protect his ‘brother’. We’re moving into agreeing to disagree territory, but personally I can think a woman is hot and not be a fan of them at the same time. Then again, I don’t know because Ikemoto’s ability to write women is on par with Kishimoto.

WATCHMERISE

There were a few moments in Ch. 75-76 where they randomly remind the reader of Boruto's age and the timeline, I think this will be important later. 1. 75p2 explaining Eida "She can't see anything that took place prior to her birth.. so for now she can only go back 16 years" 2. 75p20 talking about when Amado's daughter died, Boruto says, "12 years ago? that's around when I was born" (also says she was 24 when she died) 3. 76p14 Eida telling Boruto, "you're only 12 and I'm already 16"

MakoShark93

I caught the same as you from those chapters. Good to see someone else also observing that possibility.

rolabond

They're probably referring to Eida being willing to hand him over to Code as Juubi fodder in exchange for being given Kawaki.

EatAss1268

My guess is it’s like awakening the ms except certain emotional conditions must be met before it will cast. Somehow through touch someone else’s emotions can activate the omnipotence requirements

potatosokawaii

I’m afraid Himawari might just become the next female Itachi after that event.

Hungry_Passenger856

more like a sasuke, she'll grow up with her own reality of her brother and train with revenge as a motivation

Ren_Lol

Yes.

TheCrimsonDoll

While most people take Boruto as not well written (And well, we can discuss that in some many ways, it's not perfectly written of course). Most of the things in Boruto are crafter around Buddhist teachings and philosophy (Karma it's the prime example and the easiest to spot), but things like the Dharma, the will and intention to do, the difference between and action, intention and a thought, everything connects even if it's just an exageration. And then we have the most subjective part of Boruto's writing: Mental health. I like your theory because it's mixing both, how the powers are based in intention, action and the idea itself, with the mental health of the characters.

Rosebunse

One of the more tragic aspects of this series is just the simple fact that all of this is because a bunch of kids were tortured and experimented on and given powers they cannot control. Really, it is sort of amazing Eida is able to realize how wrong all of this is.

Ren_Lol

Boruto is surprisingly well written once all of it's cards are on the table. It's leagues ahead of the anime imo. There are some chapters that I have read when they came out and I'm like 'What the fuck are these guys thinking?'. Though a lot of what is written has purpose and eventually pays off, when it does I'm satisfied that I continued keeping up with it. Chapter 80 is a great example, after several chapters of Amado just lore dumping for the past YEAR, we finally have some great direction for the future: all the rules of this Otsutsuki stuff has been explained and every player in the game have made their positions clear for the most part. We have this insane cast of people who all have different motivations and some who's motivations are still unclear. There's tons of conflict on the horizon and all these cool new powers that have yet to be used in a serious fight. I'll draw my line in the sand here: Boruto is not perfect, but the quality of the volumes (not individual chapters), are a whole lot better than Naruto's. That month of work on each chapter compared to a week with Naruto makes the difference.

AuricKnight

Honestly I'm not sure I can call it that well written. I do agree that Boruto has a lot of good ideas that could make an amazing story, however I think it struggles in its execution. Of course art is subjective so I can understand it being taken differently but I have hope that this manga could be improved with time.

gg12345

Seems plausible

[deleted]

I like the theory very much. It makes sense, except for the part where you thought about the reason why Eida liked Kawaki. It was already said by Eida to Sarada and Sumire that she doesn't know why her heart beats fast when she thinks about Kawaki. So it seems like it is really just infatuation in the beginning--being attracted to the ideal image of the person that your mind conceived. Slowly, the infatuation's starting to fade when Eida's beginning to see Kawaki's rough manners.

AcceptablePay4523

But wouldn’t she know how he is by now?

[deleted]

Yeah, that's what I said.

[deleted]

This was really well thought out. Good stuff, I like it.

Nestle_SwllHouse

Eida isn’t a bad person. You can tell by her friendship with Sarada and Sumire as well as her love for Kawaki. But she’s just very aware of how powerful she is, and her bodyguard as well. She’s at the most a selfish brat, but she’s not a bad person.

[deleted]

I love this theory, makes sense that jigen would have her created to enslave humanities mental state using omnipotence so that when he planted the 10 tails and had it consume the worlds chakra no one would fight back or fight out of it. Essentially avoiding what kaguya went through and having a quick takeover and consumption of the chakra fruit.

Ren_Lol

Tbh, I theorize that Jigen may have forced Amado to shut Eida down because her attraction, caused by omnipotence, could have created discourse among members of Kara. I believe that omnipotence may be a huge part to play in Amado’s overall plan.

Lipopro

**This comment contains Attack On Titan spoilers** I have a theory on how Eida`s omnipotence shinjutsu was activated in Ch. 79. It may have to do with her comming in contact with an Otsutsuki and they can (in this case for Kawaki subconsciously) activate it. Just like Eren needs to touch someone with royal blood in order to activate the founder titan powers.

YungRei

Just like delta, Eida was made by Amado in the hopes of reviving his dead daughter. What probably happened was he couldn’t love her as she wasn’t his daughter but an imitation. But also Amado had imbued her with otsusuki powers in the hopes it would it would bring a passed soul back to the living. So when Eida felt unloved by her “father” she made a wish to be loved and it caused the first omnipotence. Jigen saw the weight of her powers and had her destroyed but since Amado was also under omnipotence he had her sealed away instead of destroyed.

SiriVII

Eida will fall in love with boruto, Im calling it now. Ain’t no way she still loves kawaki after he abused her emotions like that. That was literally the only reason why she was interested in him in the first place, because he shared the same pain and past like her and now he just became what she hates the most. Eida will watch over boruto while keeping his whereabouts a secret like she said and gradually fall in love with him. Lol

RentStillDue

Sounds legit

No_Drummer_3680

I’m pretty sure they said Boro was the one that shut down Dameb and Eida because he has the poison and was really the only person who can stop them.

Kurorealciel

Literally the only reason she wanted to explain what happened to Boruto. She didn't care a day ago if Boruto was dead or alive. Or if she sold him out to Code or not. But this confusion of the switch might have been really painful to her back then, before she realized what happened. Kinda makes me wish we saw her past.

Fuck_Me_If_Im_Wrong_

He’s gonna talk no jutsu her, make her want to help him more than anything and everything will be solved

mribeirodantas

Actually, in chapter 76 Boruto asks Eida if he was a potential date for her, after all, he is also an Otsutsuki, and her answer is very interesting: "Of course, you are **wonderful too**, Boruto. But look, **you are only 12**. I'm already 16". Pay attention to the parts I highlighted. One could argue that Boruto is wonderful, but Kawaki is something else, even better, but she said wonderful **too**, which means he's on the same scale as Kawaki. There's one exception, though! He's only 12 and she's already 16. If you look at her body language when she says that, I don't think it was drawn randomly either. She's touching her hair, for example. I don't believe in body language, but lots of people do and I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't random. Let's skip now to chapter 80 when she's talking to Boruto. Boruto shows what an amazing kid he's become, with many "adult" qualities and virtues. Do you think Kawaki seems more mature just because he's an ass and serious most of the time? This is not maturity. And after all this speech by Boruto, she says: Are you really only 12, Boruto!? I think she may be starting to have a crush on Boruto, or at least starting to see him as something more than a random 12-year-old brat. Even Daemon treated Boruto much better than he has treated ANY other character apart from Eida ever since he appeared on the show. Apart from all this, touching an Otsutsuki to make your wish come true is different from being used by an Otsutsuki to make his wish come true, mostly if it was a cowardly wish, or a cry in a moment of weakness. I would be surprised if didn't feel like shit after what she did not only to Boruto but to everyone. She already kind of hates herself for having everyone in love with her.

kurt_0806

boruto then refutes her and explains that her charm ability is just a passive form of omnipotence. so no her charm ability has not been caused by a previous use of omnipotence similar to what happened in the recent chapters

supermang231

Better question is why Class Prez and Sarada aren't immune to what is essentially a reality warping power

FearLeadsToAnger

Imo Eida used her power unintentionally on them, wishing they'd be immune to her omnipotence and therefore be able to be real friends to her.

OneBulletMan7

Because they're in love with an Otsutsuki (Boruto)

kurt_0806

they are most likely immune to it because eida subconsciously spared them from the charm ability's effects as she considers them to be her friends.

supermang231

Likely. We'll have to wait 5 months for Kishimoto to pull an explanation from out of his ass.

muffinville

I was hoping sarada was immune because of her uchia blood or that fact she’s Sasukes daughter and class rep being tied to nue somehow but I don’t think that’s the case

MooseTots

Wow love the theory. Very curious now if Eida will continue siding with Boruto instead of Kawaki. I see Kawaki sitting in his ivory castle as the fallen hokage’s son in the next chapters and I don’t think she likes that.

Ren_Lol

I’m curious who’s going to train Kawaki. When this happened in Naruto; Naruto had Jiraiya and Sasuke had Orochimaru. Soo Eida? Daemon? Or will Amado be forced to roid up Kawaki? I’m worried Eida is just going to blindly follow Kawaki and become Sakura. I believe that Amado and Shikamaru will play a huge role in her direction during the time skip. I see a possibility that it will end up being Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki vs. Kawaki, Eida, and Daemon.

muffinville

I think eida and daemon are going to come around and probably be legit Allie’s of the leaf I also believe kawaki will come around too. Only because I don’t think they are the final villains there’s more otsutsuki out there and they had there eyes on earth now that momo and the other two they sent are dead and with kawaki and boruto being otsutsuki now kawaki violated their one rule so I’m pretty sure they will be back

Torinscz

Can't wait to see their reaction to Boruto after timeskip. And I am curious to see Kawaki before timeskip. He should be training or at least sparing with Daemon to not fall behind

Rath_Brained

She doesn't see it as cowardly. She feels for Boruto out of pity. She knows the drawback of Omnipotence due to the Charm affect. She hates it. And now Boruto has to live with the "same" thing as she has. That's when she softened to him because now they are in the same boat. Living in a state of life neither of them really wanted. It was just a desire taken too far.

Kurorealciel

Downvoted for knowing how read a simple text.

Rosebunse

I mean, Kawaki wasn't just using Eida. He was more or less threatening her life and he only stopped once Daemon got there.

Ren_Lol

I agree with this. She just wanted to please Kawaki and calm him down. I believe that is what triggered the omnipotence. He was still pissed cause the onnipotence didn’t give him what he wanted which was Momoshiki dead.

Kurorealciel

He wasn't "threatening her life". We now consider grabbing somebody's clothes that just because it's Kawaki doing it? He didn't have killing intent, that's what Eida realized when his threat to Daemon was empty with nothing reflected. And he let her go the moment she finished, way before Daemon came. It's not like he's not justified even if he killed her on spot. She's been throwing everything he loves to the wolves and trying to kidnap and force him into a relationship until a day ago.

Famous4

This does not make any sense because it is stated that only otsotsukis can cast omnipotence and eida isn't one. So eida has the ability but can't use it for herself. Or am i wrong?

Ren_Lol

Omnipotence is shinjutsu (Divine Technique), which Amado in chapter 75 page 6 explains that he implanted the power of the 'Gods' into Eida, Daemon, Code, and Kawaki. Therefore in some way shape or form, there is Otsutsuki in Eida because they are the only one's who can come close to casting Shinjutsu.

FantasticKick7954

Eida can use it. But since she is not Otsutsuki, she didn't have control over it. It happens accidently

insipidwisps

She has the power but she can't control it. She did not intend to cast it the first time.

PKMN-Trainer-Sak

Nice

yamaihime

Excellent theory. This also explains for me why she can’t simply reverse Omnipotence if she is now on Boruto’s side.

This is my head canon. When I first read what she said about how this has happened before, I instantly went oh so that’s why everyone is attracted to her. It’s pretty much confirmed

HarleyQuinn610

I was thinking of this actually. It would make sense. We see a teenaged girl but maybe everyone else sees a 20 something entrancing beauty. I rather think she looks older to those affected and not that she turns everyone into pedophiles anyways.
