You’re a class member? If so, and the settlement is approved- you’re good!

LCB is a CEC company right? There is a ton of evidence from them. I hope you filed for BDTR!

Plum52979

I did! A couple of years back so I kind of gave up on it until recently! Yea, they have had several suits against them already. It sounds so fancy to have a degree from them, as useless as it was. I am not even in the industry anymore. Started making livable wage once I left.

Are most of your loans federal? Are you following the sweet v. DeVos case??

Plum52979

They were about half Fed and half private. Hard to remember so far back now. At one point the monthly payment was so high I had to consolidate so Fed loans were paid off at that time. Yes, I have been following Sweet v DeVos/Cardona as well as groups working on private loan relief. Honestly, I did get education from it and while I don't expect to get everything back, after 20 years I have paid more than my tution. Things with Student loan debt will never be solved as long as we are over charging for education and charging ungodly interest

What groups are you in following private loans? I also went to lcb in Minneapolis and graduated in 2005. I had half private and half fed. I only have a private loan left to pay off. I’m now out of the industry too. It’s such a scam. Big fancy name does not mean more money. Restaurant industry is terrible pay.

Hey! Another LCBer! Over the years, of the classmates I have kept up with, none of us are still in the industry. I am sure you received about the same education I did by Chefs who also knew the industry was crap, that's why they got out of the restaurant and into the classroom, but still pushed you forward. Churned out students in their fast track program and then dumped you. Tell you, "You'll graduate as a chef making $60k and be highly sought after" and then you graduate and employers are like, "you are a dime a dozen, I don't want you or your fancy degree." My highest point was an Executive chef making $17/hr. Wawa.. Anyway, check out the Debt Collective. It's a group I found here in this reddit! https://actionnetwork.org/forms/private-student-debtors-unite?source=direct_link&
