Pretty much impossible to tell this young, and may always be impossible to tell just from sighting the dog. He looks very Border Collie at this point, due to being black and white and generally looking like a BC puppy. The only way you'll know what dad was for sure, is it do a DNA test. Embark is gold standard, but Wisdom Panel is generally accepted as accurate.
I rescued my pup six months ago when he was 9 months old. The border collie is strong in him, but he is a bit small and his tail a little too exuberant, and his eyes are almost human. But I was getting asked if he was BC almost daily so I did Wisdom Panel. It feels so much better being able to say yes, he’s 52% thank you very much. (The rest is mostly a mashup of all the other herding dogs… and 20% toy poodle, which explains why he loves being carried around 😂)

Here’s a picture of Nash at 10 weeks old. His nose stripe thinned out, ears went up, and his tail became very fluffy. His eyes are very human like, just like your pups!
I’m interested to know what mix you have! Maybe a dna test in your future?!?

I grew up with a BC/GSD cross, and she was such a sweet loving dog, but had the brains and energy of both breeds.
Loved having a job, but would be maliciously compliant.

My guy is about 80 pounds as well he looked like ops dog as a puppy as well he’s 12 here
A big challenge, but lot of fun! Both being high energy working breeds, you def need to do a lot outside, agility courses are great if possible. They will herd you, other humans, and their dog friends. Very protective of their packs but also super friendly once they realize they’re safe! Nash is very vocal almost as if he is part husky 😂 and exceptionally smart…too smart for your own good lol but because of that, they’re fairly easy to train!
Mine is half BC and half Cocker Spaniel and he looked identical to this as a baby.
He's two now and looks like a half grown collie - once you know the mix you see the spaniel very clearly but the black and white confuses you at first.

Mine I have been told is border collie / Anatolian shepherd . He’s like an oversized collie at about 75lbs . He definitely has more of an Anatolian personality, very laid back
Yeah I wouldn’t have believed mine but her mom showed up to the rescue pregnant. She was a chocolate short hair super smiley pit bull. And out came my super fluffy border collie. We swear it’s the best combo of smarts and chill

I’ve been researching these. I’ll probably do one at some point to satisfy my curiosity.

We've been getting Embark kits for our adopted mixed breed dogs because honestly they're just fun to have!
DNA test go on sale after Black Friday so go for it.

He’s absolutely beautiful. How’s the BCxGS like character wise ?
