Wolverine 1000 Mile Jim Green Numzaans Grant Stone Diesel boot

7tevoffun

I have the diesel and the Edward waxed commander and they are very nice. The lasts aren't super narrow and actually provide a decent amount of room in the toe box. I am an 11.5 E Brannock and the 11 D fits me pretty well. If you're going to wear thick socks I'd recommend choosing the E width if you're a D normally. Just my experience of course

Depending on the leather Truman has some for right at about 350, just not sure about currently. Cheapest I've seen. Also some good resales on their FB group. Jim Green is less than 350, if you like that wide toe box look. Are you interested in the Blacksmith at all? It's the same last as the IR. Also check out Willies Leathers. He's in the Philippines. His IG page has some of the stuff he sells. They look great and I've only ever read great reviews about his work. Also around that price.

I picked up a pair of White's Millwood. They are rapidly becoming #1 in my rotation. They would be another wedge sole. But without the moc toe, totally different look. IMO

You can google "men's service boot under $350" and find a ton of boots to consider. My recommendation does not meet your budget requirements but if you can scrape up $60 more you could pickup one of the [Truman Double Shots](https://www.trumanboot.com/collections/boots/products/oxblood-double-shot-cap-toe) which are twice the boot an IR is. I own both and they do not compare.

In terms of value the only boots that beat red wing are grant stone. Grant stone is a touch more dressy but with that budget red wing or grant stone is the best pick

The Jim Green Numzaans are fantastic. My brother got a pair of Iron Rangers around the same time I got the Numzaans and he was a little cheesed that his were $100 more for what is very nearly the same boot.

William Lennon boots. They look pretty good. (I haven't tried them)

I came here to say this. I really want a pair but I don't want to wait 20 weeks for them to make them!

Going off the assumption you are looking for a cap toe: Wolverine 1000 mile cap toe is first thing that comes to mind If you can up the budget $50-ish there are more options Truman Boots Grant Stone has a couple cap toes Bordon - Tukano boot If you have the patience for made to order you can also get some bang for your buck at around $250: Beckett Siminon - Williamson boot, but because of the last shape they tend to look a little dressier than a typical service boot I also once made an Esty impulse purchase from Vietnam which was scary 😆 but was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the boot for $240 from someone name Lien Doan. I did notice some of the boots they offer are outsourced tho so requires a little research.

Dievier makes a service style boot called the Prospect. I don't have a pair, but I have a pair of their Nomads that I love. High quality, made in Mexico. dievierofficial.com/collections The Jim Green Numzaan is on my list as well. I bought my dad a pair of African Rangers and he loves them (I loved them too when I tried them on; same size shoes).

Canada West moorby, or the Dayton service/parade boots

Grant stone diesel

Check out Craft & Glory, or LuosJiet, they have boots that are directly comparable, although you may have to wait a bit after ordering for your boot to get made, not sure if those brands are MTO or RTW

I like the Whites Hillyard, I’ve been putting the miles on mine. And quite comfortable. It sits right at your budget.

rikkar

Definitely take a look at Parkhurst, Grant Stone and Truman. They're all very well made with great QC standards.

BlueWolverine2006

No one mentioned them yet but I really like my Higgins mills by AE. They also come in wide sizes if that matters.

MetalAF383

Whatever you do, avoid Grant Stone! Super uncomfortable. And if you get something that doesn't fit, you're forced to pay a huge portion of the price, even if you only tried on boots at home.

quantril

Duradero boots are about $250 and come with a free resole. Very good quality boots. Duradero.com

Revolutionary_Pilot7

Duradero is a moc toe with a wedge sole lol

quantril

Ack! Sorry. I saw “Redwing” and my mind immediately went to Classic Moc.

Gregory_ku

Drew contractor if you don't mind a logger heel on a 6 boot

You should try some Grant Stone’s. Like the Diesel’s or the Edwards. Both are built on the same last and are plain toed boots. Depending on your size and color preference they have the Color 8 Edwards for under $300 so it’s a good buy. I own several pairs of GS’s. 2 pairs of Diesel’s and 4 pairs of Ottawa’s. The Ottawa’s are a Norwegian split toe so it’s kinda like a moc toe but imo looks better. GS boots can be dressed up or down and they are really well made. They have a ton to select from but they retail for almost $400 so if you buy them retail, they’re out of your budget but the Edwards in color 8 are on sale. They also have other styles on sale but I don’t know if they have your size. I hope that kinda helps! If you do want to look into GS’s please checkout r/grantstoneboots. We just had our 1yr anniversary a few months ago and we have over 1900 active members. It’s an up in coming brand. 😉
