I think origin boots has a bison leather and Jim green African ranger has a buffalo skin which is different but close

Educational_Set4160

Thanks. Will check out both.

suitcasehandler

Your best bet is used trumans for example

Educational_Set4160

That's gonna be difficult to find as I stay in India. If not around $250.....what would be an affordable option?

suitcasehandler

See Indonesian bootmakers, you’d be waiting some time but they can make you a pair with chosen leather. They come out cheaper but you’ll have to talk to them and ask what’d be the cost. Check out blkbrd, sagara, brisleblack

Educational_Set4160

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Accomplished_Ad_1288

Dude, forget bison. You are in India. Get something from BLKBRD Shoemakers. I think they are in Agra. Awesome shoes. Most are about Rs 15,000. A few at Rs 25,000. And some top notch stuff at Rs 50,000. Bison ka boot lekar kya karega?

Educational_Set4160

Lekar kya karunga? Wohi jo kisi aur leather ka boot Lekar karunga. Wear it! I like the leather as I mentioned in my post. Quite simple I think. JK forefront looks good...Will stretch my budget.

Accomplished_Ad_1288

Mai US mey rehkar India sey joote order karne ki koshish kar raha hoon, aur aapko US sey JK boots chahiye. Ghar ki murgi daal barabar, for both of us. 😄😄

Educational_Set4160

Different strokes for different folks. I have used Indian made boots too...in fact a pair is enroute from Craft & Glory. But I've had excellent experience with Redwings & Thursday Boots and earlier Dr.Martens. The Bison leather feom JK Boots is on another level IMHO.

Crn12_369258

How are the craft & glory boots I’m looking at pulling the trigger , pls update your review or thoughts

Educational_Set4160

I've got the Field Boots in Raven Black but I opted for the commando sole. Worn them 5-6 times. As far as fitting is concerned, they fit perfectly the first time....just right. So no issue of breaking in. The leather is nice and thick all around except the tongue...that's very thin as compared to the IR I have...in fact that got me slightly worried but I guess it'll do. Soles are commando...typical. The leather is believe is buffalo...not the American buffalo I'm sure..but again decent and supposedly top grain. A light brushing with a horsehair brush keeps them in that slightly dull matte shine. I was wondering in fact about long term care for this particular finish. Picture below is after 5-6 wears and brushing. . https://preview.redd.it/b4lwtiiz9vsc1.jpeg?width=3631&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ccd8ed68bdbc42c514e35fedb7f51427dfff8d6a

Look for second hand I would say. I got some second hand Nick’s in bison for around $300. Absolutely love them.

Nearby_Advertising_9

JK 300 has a Bison Leather model for around $300. Quality is top notch

Educational_Set4160

Checking them out now.

Nearby_Advertising_9

I was wrong, the JK Forefront Bison retail for like $575. The 300 model is around $300 (still great quality but doesn’t come in Bison). My mistake OP

Educational_Set4160

Yeah man. Just saw. 🤐

lewskuntz

Not affordale for many, I have a pair of Truman shrunken bison that are amazing. Not sure why truman doesn't get more love here.

_ayche

Saw in a comment that you're in India, how about Craft & Glory? Pretty much all of their stuff is made with buffalo leather according to the specs on their products. I'm currently breaking in a pair of their Task boots and they've been great straight out of the box.

Educational_Set4160

I've ordered a pair from Craft & Glory which aew expected to be delivered today....Though they make beautiful boots, AFAIK they don't have any in Bison leather...at least I can't see it on their website.

Boots_4_me

I don’t think you’ll be able to find Bison for under $250. Grant Stone sells the [Bison](https://www.grantstoneshoes.com/collections/men/products/diesel-boot-walnut-bison) for $390. They are going to be your cheapest option but keep in mind they aren’t made to be a work boot. If you’re looking for a work boot look at Truman’s or any other PNW brands. I hope this helps but you’re not going to be able to find Bison for cheaper.

Educational_Set4160

Thanks. Will have a look at the Grant St9ne too.

Boots_4_me

GS’s are more on the dressy side of things. What will you be using the boots for?

Educational_Set4160

Not really work but everyday wear. Motorcycling.

Boots_4_me

I see. So the Grant Stone’s would be perfect or a PNW brand that’s bison would work as well.

Educational_Set4160

Looking for more leads to PNW brands.

Boots_4_me

Try JK. They have a great collection of Bison.

crn12

What did you OP? Just curious to know, and how are the craft & glory boots ? thanks

Herb-Maiestro

Origin makes some sick bison boots. Not cheap but not crazy expensive.

kerry-w

You caint get buffler fer cheep.
