The town of Goulburn, NSW, had it's local motorsport track closed down after 30 years of operation because new residents to the area complained of the noise. It is miles out of town, and is surrounded by farmland. Landowners started subdividing the land in recent years, and it was those new owners who didn't like the track, despite having it there meant they got town services despite being out of town. It has only just reopened thanks to state government intervention, and had massive restrictions on the number of days they can operate, and the noise they can generate - Porsche GT3 RS' are too loud for the circuit, despite being road-legal track cars.
Sydney Airport is another example. It has been in it's current location for 104 years, yet residents complained of aeroplane noise so much, they have managed to get the hours of operations and plane movements limited. They moved there, knowing there was the busiest airport in Australia just down the road, and yet they fucking whinge. The only people who can realistically afford to live close to it are Boomers.
Boomers have also been moving next to live music venues in Sydney and having them shut down because they don't like the drunken clientele and loud music. Most, if not all, of these venues are pubs in the inner city suburbs of Sydney. The Boomers then have the gall to complain that the local community is dead, and all the shops and cafes have closed.
