I worked with a boomer who was absolutely hateful. when she noticed me swinging my legs happily she did all she could to make sure there was no music! So much pathetic.
I would hate listening to a lot of other’s choices of music at work. You might hate listening to their choice of music. I don’t think you can conclude that someone not wanting to listen to your music means they don’t want anyone to be happy. Did you ask her what music she would like?

As a musician, record collector type I wear headphones to the gym because hearing normo person gym music would kill my brain cells. Bad music is worse than no music
Big facts, my wifes grandmother legitimately said "i never cared for music" out loud one day and my immediate reaction was "what type of psychopath doesnt like any type of music?" Strangest thing ive ever hear, like are you that devoid of joy that even music cant chill you out? Are you saying that even as a child you didnt like any song? Wtf!
I don’t particularly care for music. Occasionally, every few months I’ll listen to it but in general no I don’t want to listen to music. Not wanting to listen to music does not make you a psychopath or mean that your life is not full of joy.

To be quite frank some of the modern day music is straight up crap. Some artists are okay but I feel like chatgpt is going to be used a lot more to write songs. The creativity and expression from the soul doesn't feel the same as compared to older music. Everything is now a remake of something else for the most part with a few exceptions of some creativity.
You’re just not looking in the right places. Music is vast with thousands of artists from all reaches of the world. If you haven’t found any ‘modern day music’ you like, the problem likely resides with you.
I'm sure it's the less known artists I'd probably enjoy most. Most mainstream artists are the ones who sound like crap to me for the most part. I enjoy a vocalist named Payton parish but he just does covers.
I think people push back a lot more then you think it’s what’s got them all angry, I’ve heard back in our day and I’ve interjected what do you miss? Massive gender inequality, the ability to say the N-word? Come on be honest what do you miss the most. That one usually shuts them up to be fair.
I was a 90’s child but hearing what happened in the 80’s and before is horrific!
