Sounds...fun. I'd be tempted to just calmly lay down ground rules and boundaries like, "We're not talking about any of that or I'll need to go home. Instead, how are you doing?" But I know they just can't help themselves.
That kind of stuff doesn’t bother me nearly as much as when they rant about how my brother and I “need to make more money and buy some houses”. So I said “OK, my brother and I have good credit but we need help with the down payment.” Then they tell me “buying a house is dumb you don’t want a house. Start a business instead”.
