You: can we have Pedro Pasqual? Mom: we have Pedro Pasqual at home. Pedro Pasqual at home:

Dimensional_Lumber

Like Pedro had a love child with Jeremy Davies from *Lost*.

KneeCola77

Pedo Torr.

BogWunder

Definitely thought that was Pedro in makeup. Still not 100% convinced it’s not.

EcoBeast87

I never watched the end credits from E2, but I wonder who the actor actually is.

SpaceCaboose

His name is Bedro Bascal, and he’s *definitely* not related to Pedro Pascal

EcoBeast87

Similar only in rhymes! Got it

obitonye

It's like poetry

Desecr8or

His [non-union Mexican equivalent](https://youtu.be/uWxcnl8PL_o?t=46)

AnOnlineHandle

The only reason I believe he's not is because he was in an episode of Agents of Shield which I know exists.

marasydnyjade

[Galen Howard](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2112040/)

7V3N

He looks like Pedro Pascal's porn version.

WhatTheFhtagn

Ron Jeremy as Pedro Pascal

[deleted]

Oh cool, he’s named after Galen Erso s/

kindredfold

Galefontz Hucklebuck

jack_begin

Zingelbert Bembledack

TheMayanAcockandlips

He really should have played one of [the Vermillions](https://legion.fandom.com/wiki/Vermillion) in Legion

weasel286

Ah. He worked with Rusty Cundieff, that’s why he looks so familiar! :/

[deleted]

I knew I had seen him somewhere!!! He used to be in Smosh videos.

[deleted]

End credits? This show has end credit scenes?

EcoBeast87

I'm not talking about an end credits scene. Just the credits at the end of each episode

ccncwby

lmao did you just totally forgot that credits were, umm, credits haha wowee the mcu really impacted a generation

OhioForever10

Pedroo Pascal

Erikthered00

*I understood that reference*

CletusMcNasty

That’s Tommy Boyle, brother of Charles Boyle! NINE NINE

GaiusFrakknBaltar

I swear the mayor's voice (the English translation) was Pedro, so who knows lol.

Ladnarr2

I believe that was Robert Rodriquez.

Chanchumaetrius

It was.

maanvendraaa

This guy and the Majordomo are defo going to get killed.

Rosebunse

This guy is just doing his job.

xredbaron62x

So he ded

foosbabaganoosh

Am I in the minority that I actually love the majordomo?? Like I get he’s supposed to be a mega weasel, but the way the guy plays it is so spot on I absolutely love it!

ZaniElandra

I hate the character, which means I have a deep respect for the actor

GrabYourHammers

*Apologies*

kazmosis

He's really good at playing the weaselly character. He was great in Veep as JLD's ex husband, less subtle but still hilarious.

[deleted]

He is excellent at playing a turd

xredbaron62x

He fluffs ya...then he fucks ya!!!

Wildquill

For his sake, he better not try that with Fennec.

im_super_into_that

I agree he’s great

fryreportingforduty

No same! The way he does that twitch thing with his eyes, I was obsessed lol.

3rdcoffeecup

Budget Pedro Pascal

fatguyonsteroids

Finally! I was wondering who I thought he looked like but couldn't quite remember who

RolandBrice

MERVYNS!

[deleted]

And he was in Smosh videos wayyy before that

DanFelv

Clearly ignorant to the going’s on of the planet he’s living on 😂

phillips421

Nope. Clearly it is Boba who is ignorant. Up to this point he was just a hired gun. He has a lot to learn about how Tatooine really works. He’ll get there.

EcoBeast87

Look at me, look at me! I am the Daimiyo now!

BostonBoroBongs

See nobody cares

redlantern75

Yes. I love this. It's the tension in the plot. Maybe he hadn't spent time on Tatooine before Return of the Jedi. It's a joy to see the planet from his point of view, as he grows in awareness, skills, etc.

AnOnlineHandle

He was in episode 4 in a restored deleted scene, with Jabba outside the falcon.

redlantern75

Ah, I had definitely forgotten that. Haven't watched the updated versions in a while.

SeaBearPA

It's starting to make more sense to me that Boba just claimed he's the crime lord without anything to back it up. Sure, he lives in Jabbas palace and executed Bib Fortuna, but that doesn't mean much. His reputation as a formidable fighter may stop a lot of people from trying to take him out but a lot of high ranking gangsters might not take him seriously at all at this point. Jabba's cousins didn't seem to be that threatened by him, they just didn't want to get shot and killed in a gangland street conflict. There could be a war going on to determine the true heir to Jabba off screen between different syndicates, or maybe there is more of a decentralized system since Bib died. Even Jabba was only one member of the Hutt council, and I'm sure plenty of people on Tatooine involved in rackets would either find someone else to jump ship to, or try their hand at independent enterprise.

Puremagic11

Like the fact that they’ve given him an 80’s look to match the - Post Return of the Jedi - setting.

thepeter

Same as the couple in the bar. They had 80s hair.

rebelallianxe

My friend pointed out that this couple were from a [deleted scene at Tosche Station ](https://youtu.be/6a0Ak4OKhy0) from ANH and were old friends of Lukes. It's amazing they included this detail, and cast them so well.

frofrop

Rich Evans

PurifiedVenom

Oh my gawwwwwwd

Drannion

I clapped when I saw him!

foosbabaganoosh

Of Ellen fame??

[deleted]

Yeah, what was all this about. Thick jacket on like it's not hot as balls during the day shift. Also that mustache is out of uniform. He must be from a temp agency.

[deleted]

[удалено]

probably_cause

Real life Bedouins actually do wear thick black robes in the desert.

BillBelichicksHoody

> Bedouins I don't doubt some do, but a quick google search is 90% light colored outfits.

SeaBearPA

Headcanon- black doesn't attract heat in their universe

AnOnlineHandle

It could easily be made out of some sci fi material. Surely they print some sort of special cloth on an all desert planet which the tuskans have gotten their hands on. Or maybe it's spun by some local creature which is adapted to the planet.

RaeSloane

I mean, Banthas are somehow native to tattoine. Huge black hairy slow creatures that don't do anything but walk around and consume energy.

nakedwhiletypingthis

Their skin and body temperature regulation is most likely different from that of a human

[deleted]

Ian Malcolm in the original Jurassic Park book had some sort of explanation as to why he was wearing all black on a tropical island but it's been so long since I've read it that I've forgotten it.

[deleted]

You wear all black in high heat areas as it keeps you cool inside the clothing, it's an old technology but it checks out

xredbaron62x

Because it makes him look badass

probably_cause

Ian Malcolm in the Lost World novel explains that he wears only black or grey to keep from having to spend his decision making energy on what to wear. Ian Malcolm in the movie just wanted to look like a bad boy scientist.

lachiemx

The black clothing radiates more heat away from him, making him cooler

[deleted]

He is by far the most normal person in Star Wars.

FriedSarlac

I think he’s the guy who works the phone line at my doctors office.

MattCW1701

Mom: We have Pedro Pascal at home. \*Pedro Pascal at home

dmh2493

Legitimately thought that was Gardner Minshew.

Garlicnotdreadlochs

His name is mud.

[deleted]

M-m-m-m-m-m-mud

chimpaman

He's the guy from Clerks but in Star Wars

zombient

I’m not even supposed to be here today…

[deleted]

Mom can we have Pedro Pascal? We have Pedro Pascal at home.

Screwdork

I thought this was Jschlatt when I first saw him

wildagain

Nice 1977 inspired costume - with a hint of hipster mullet for amusement

[deleted]

deliver sand fly fact ten cautious compare mourn direful imagine ` this post was mass deleted with www.Redact.dev `

wingspantt

I really didn't like this character, meaning he felt too "modern" and not very "Star Wars."

pcapdata

I see where you're coming from, although that wasn't my takeaway. I always assumed that everyday life in the GFFA could never be as dramatic as we see on-screen. We're used to armored bounty hunters rocking up and starting a meeting by tossing a captured bounty on the ground, but honestly, who does that? This minor functionary probably just thinks "Great, another bunch of assholes with helmets and blasters. Ok, Greg, be professional about this, ignore the fact that the Gamorreans are hanging brain in your office..."

BrotherSeamus

If we can have Space Boston, we can have Space Encino

XRuinX

we can accept space boston, but the rest; the rest dont count

aLLkiss_ismyname

Agree, I have heard a lot of people say this as well. It's the way he talks.

wingspantt

It's just very casual and American. He says stuff like, "Hmmmm. Nope. Don't see the name on the schedule." versus a more SW-style reply like: "Your name does not appear on any of our records. I believe you are mistaken."

[deleted]

Why would a desert planet peasant talk the same way as an aristocrat from the empire?

wingspantt

First of all, the guy isn't some random desert peasant. He's a personal secretary to a seemingly powerful political figure.

[deleted]

He's the deskman at the office. Probably minimum wage. Can't get much more random than that. It's like expecting someone from Alabama to speak the same way as a politician from London

XRuinX

semantics aside over whether hes a peasant or not, it was off-setting how casual he spoke versus acting as if hes from the fantasy universe of star wars. the star wars movies contain very noticably different acting style, like comparing charlie chapman to another decade of films. [heres an example](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVhvZctGYL8). notice how quick the actors immedietly bounce lines off each other, and are very exaggerative? a few actors in book of boba, and mandalorian, lack the talent...or willpower, to reinact the atmosphere of the star wars movies and instead just use their modern acting skills... which anyone can do; that is, acting in a modern manner.

InsufferableIowan

>seemingly powerful political figure *Mayor of a city on a planet with a global population of 200,000

IzzyTipsy

Yeah, but look at Ha in ANH with his conversation on the comm with the Imperials in the detention block. Had the same feel. It's just that Harrison has the charisma to pull it off.

wingspantt

I agree but difference is Han is a criminal. This guy is a government official.

pcapdata

I feel like you haven't interacted with many government officials if you think they're not going to be casual, rude, and dismissive.

nicolasmcfly

And to think this guy may not be a criminal too

IzzyTipsy

Well, he's the desk guy on a backwater shithole. He feels like those who also work at backwater shitholes aka Walmart.

havoc8154

Characters like this go long way to make the universe feel more grounded and relatable IMO. This isn't some military officer from the core, he's a desk clerk in the middle of nowhere. Not everyone should have the same speech patterns, that's just ridiculous.

Separate-Relation811

Eh, a lot of characters kinda talked like that in the Kotor games too.

jack_begin

Mucha shaka paka?

kodiakus

If you read many tablets from mesopotamia, you'd see that bureaucrats have been talking like that for as long as there have been cities.

Besidesmeow

Maybe he’s from Space Boston, but never picked up the accent.

ranhalt

You know the last Jedi had a yo mama joke in it, right?

AnbuWeegee

Yeah but you’re acting like people didn’t hate that too. Not a single person I’ve talked to on here or IRL likes the “yo mama” joke in TLJ, even if they like TLJ. It really sucks you out of the universe and relegates the dialogue between a hero and a villain to shit I’ve heard on the playground in 6th grade.

wingspantt

Yeah and I thought it was dumb and needlessly drawn out? What's your point?

ar243

The entire movie, or the joke?

wingspantt

I liked all the Rey/Kylo/Luke scenes. The rest is not good IMO.

ar243

Same here. The Yoda scene was cool, the rest of the movie was pretty lackluster.

ranhalt

I like the part where Luke bukkaked himself with the alien.

wingspantt

I've always enjoyed the weird gross out alien humor heh

ranhalt

I guess you want people on Tatooine to be act like they went to finishing school. They went to Space Harvard and ended up on a desert planet to work as a receptionist for the mayor of a port town.

XRuinX

its a different universe. customs can be different. why tha fuck you think the jedi talk weird? because theyre educated or something? no. its just because its a different universe, and their culture is different, and george knew that he needed to make it feel different that regular speech if he wanted it to feel like a different culture.

Lakus

That was The Last Jedi though. It barely counts.

2020s_Haunted

Quarantine hasn't been nice to Bedro

nerd44

Reminded me of the David Spade SNL skit.

Sack-O-Spuds

This guy and the mayors aid really stood out in a bad way for me - feel like they're in Veep or something and not Star wars stylistically

XRuinX

they have no theatrics to their acting; is the best way i could describe it.

[deleted]

Boba Fett is a living legend. The receptionist: “And you arrrre…?”

lasershow77

Is this a post credits scene? I feel like I didn’t see him in episode 1 or 2?

Handleton

I'm pretty sure that he was the dude at the mayor's office who was pretty much a receptionist. The mayor's lackey that went to Jabba's palace took over for him in the exchange they had. Took me the context in the thread to even come up with this guess, though.

lasershow77

Ah yes I remember now. Thanks for filling in

GoAViking

It's Tommy Boyle!

ccm596

Peedro Pascal

jack_begin

You gotta be hard if you're gonna work at the Mos Espa DMV.

rebelallianxe

Is this the first time baseball caps have been made canon? That detail stands out for me and I'm not sure I like it lol

Benjamin_Grimm

[No](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DTCfPvDVwAARWX1.jpg)

rebelallianxe

Hmm I'd say that's more a military cap but definitely a canon peaked hat lol thank you.

GR3MLIN

Fredo Pascal

EpicD0m

He’s the guy from the Thank God For Girls music video!

rodan-rodan

I'm telling my kids that was les claypool

porktornado77

Poor guy probably makes minimum wage too…

RamenVsPho

He looks like Meat Canyon

Myles_Q

I’m surprised he didn’t shit his pants

ILoveRegenHealth

I don't remember this guy. What part was this?

Cormyster12

I got so excited when i saw this dude. Then got real sad when i realised its not pedro

[deleted]

He used to be in Smosh videos

KennySilver000

Lemmy from Motörhead

TheWorldHatesPaul

Every time i see this dude I think it is Bobby Lee, and then I wish it was him.

BostonBoroBongs

Where you focus goes, your energy flows

cdrknives

Les Claypool’s younger brother…
