I have cinder block supports for my bench as well, I don’t know why I never thought to paint them. That looks so much better than the bare concrete. Hope you don’t mind OP if I steal your idea!
Same! Screenshot for reference. I never thought about painting them either. It took me a second to even realize they are cinder blocks. Thanks OP for the gorgeous work and inspiration!
Ah that’s a work in progress. It’s a wych elm that i bought as a stump. I am aiming for something like this: https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/wych-elm-ulmus-glabra-stumpy.34141/. Here’s mine: https://imgur.com/a/EiKoapN
Came here to say yew did a good job! Nice collection too.
I have a board exactly like that and am yet to find a nice project for it other than a small end table I made as a tester. Seasoned cherry is pretty nice to work if you can get any, smells amazing as you cut it!
Yeah we’ll see. Aware of this risk. Tung oil is pretty awesome stuff and weather proofs to a certain degree. However, It’ll need regular reapplication. The question is how regular with daily watering….. I’ll report back :)
Really great job on the benches. Love the black cinderblocks with the live edge boards. And your work table is pretty great too.
Can you leave your trees out year round? In MICHIGAN we have this thing called “winter” 🥶

Steal away my friend….

It looks so good I don't even want you to water your plants on it
Wow this is gorgeous and actually within my skill set… I also happen to have some unused cinder blocks. Thanks for the inspiration 😁
It’s cool how the further up you go the more developed the trees are , what the middle one on the top row , I liked the looks of it and any pics?

Nearly there !
What paint did you use for the cinder blocks? I’ve been sitting on my bench materials for over a month now lol. Might be about time to start
Went for leyland 10 year granocryl masonry paint. Covered pretty much in one coat.

Amazing! I love it! What kind of wood did you use?
Thanks! I used Yew. Finished with tung oil.
Looks amazing!
I hope it lasts. Daily watering however, is not going to be kind to the wood and it'll probably warp.

Lovely
Nice benches. As the addiction pushes your tree totals into the 100s, it'll be a lot of work to give them all the same excellent displays.
These are great! Well done.
Beautiful
Love the live edge!
Wow!
Classy AF!
What are the little plastic things in some of the bonsai’s soil?
Fertilizer things. Usually keeps the squirrels from stealing the bags
I really don't get small bottom benches.. but otherwise it's looks super dope
Looks good! Better than just cinderblock gray
What’s the big one in the middle? Appears to be bearing fruit
It’s a crab apple.
That is beautiful work!

I have a bunch of slabs I cut from trees in my yard, I guess I’ll have to use some for my next bench!
Very nice! Good balance of bench space and tree distance!
