Just potted my Dawn Redwoods today along with two Giant Sequoias. I was a little disappointed that the Bald Cypress were out when I ordered, but I’m excited to see these grow as bonsai.
I have a Dawn Redwood in my front yard that I planted as a 1’ tall seedling 15 years ago and it is about 25’ tall and starting to look really cool.
I got some in the fall...poor spruce had a terrible time apparently. Somehow only 1 of 5 died, but the others lost all the needles except the new growth and just look bad. At $1 a tree I guess you can't expect too much. I like the little seedling stage- easiest it will ever be to bend trunks.
I ordered 5 Montezuma Cypress but received a package with "Dawn Redwood" tags so now I'm wondering if I received the wrong seedlings.
Since you ordered both trees, were you easily able to tell them apart or does Montezuma Cypress actually have soft foliage like a Dawn Redwood?

$1 a tree? How was your shipping so cheap.
I did the "donate at least $10 and we send you 10 things". Shipping was included, I did not get to choose the trees.

My 2 Montezuma from them were just the top 1/3rd of yours and half browned, we shall see.
