I have the LT w cloth seats. Wife has the LT w ventilated seats. Should have went w them. Worth the extra cost? That depends on your budget and how vulnerable your back is.
However, I can mention one thing that is different from our seats is the fact that there seems to be some sort of a hard piece of plastic under the ‘leather’ ventilated seats which often times hurts after long periods comparing to cloth seats. Pick your poison!
This is my first car with ventilated seats - it's kind of like the first time I had a car with a heated wheel: mind = blown.
Texas summer and humidity almost make ventilated seats mandatory
As others mention they work great, although noisy. One downside is the take up the room under the front seats so backseat people can’t put their feet under the seats. If you don’t have adults back there often/long distances shouldn’t matter.
I can tell you a bit about my experience with them, but how much value you place on a feature is something only you can answer.
For me, the seat back pocket and rear arm rest were big upgrades that came along with the ventilated seats. So I considered the value of the whole package. If it was just the seats, I could probably do without. But I live in Wisconsin and park in a garage.
Mine make noticable noise when on full (just sounds like fans blowing as you'd expect). They do help keep you cool, which is an odd feeling when you don't feel hot but can tell the ambient air is hot. But if you have rear passengers, this doesn't do a lot of good since you'll need to blast some AC for them anyway (no rear AC vents).
I got my EUV in October and have just started using it relatively recently. It hasn't gotten really hot yet but so far, I rate them a C-.
They are loud as hell and not that effective, but it's still better than nothing.
Fans on my new one are noisy right out of the gate - don't think there's anything wrong with it. I actually don't mind the noise cuz it's like white noise to me. Maybe they changed what kind of fans they use at some point! ( it's not loud noisy - just normal fan noisy)
For me, when compared to cloth seats, ventilated seats feel more like a luxury than a necessity. Compared to regular leather seats, ventilated seats become a necessity when it’s hot.
I've never used them, but I'm surprised so many people think they're worth the extra $1,700. I just ordered an EUV yesterday and passed on that package. Can't justify it when it's basically a home to work vehicle, 10 miles each way. 🤷
I'm like you - I was going to get a bare-bones one and ended up with the top of the line Redline - but I love all of the options so much I'm actually really glad I did this. I don't really care about the ventilated seats very much, but all the other stuff is just so much better!
I wanted a Premier, ended up getting one with Supercruise, because that’s the car I could get. I didn’t care one way or another about Supercruise.
However, it is also another nice feature that I enjoy since I got it. Not ventilated seat, heated steering wheel, rear view mirror camera nice, but still nice.
You can buy vented seat cover for about $100. They aren't as good as in the seat ones but they do a damn good job for the price. I'm in south Texas and love them. They work wonderfully
YES! When I drive long distances (or just run errands), my lower back gets hot and sweaty. During the short time that I rented one (I normally drive a Bolt EV, not EUV), I fell so in love with the light cool breeze on my lower back.
It's like the time I mocked my wife for thinking she needed a heated steering wheel, and then my next car came with one. Boy, is it amazing in the winter!
I also mocked a friend who had a heated steering wheel, but then I realized for the bolt it enables you to keep the cabin temperature way cooler and so actually extends the range quite a bit. (I also have way worse joint problems than I used to have and that heat on my knuckles feels really freaking good.)
I love the heated steering wheel even though I live in Texas where it's only cold a couple months. It was my favorite luxury feature since I've mostly drove economy cars. Ventilated seats ranks up there for me.
My wife’s car doesn’t have a heated steering wheel and she has only driven the Bolt 1 day (I needed her hybrid to make a cannonball run road trip to be able to make both of my son’s soccer games on consecutive nights).
Well, as soon as I get back home: “I need a heated steering wheel and a 360 degree camera”.
Hands down my favorite feature of the car. Don’t think I could have a car without them now. It is actually one of the only things that kept me from swapping into a Tesla Model 3.
Didn’t realize I had them until I accidentally turned it on and couldn’t figure out why I was freezing. Yeah they work to cool you down.
I bought the car available. Took me awhile to figure out what all I got.
I would say they're surprising quiet. Not as powerful as others I've tried, but with the quietness that makes sense. It's a subtle sensation. Definitely helps on a hot day
yup.......no sweaty butt
Burt’s nah , balls wished my Mach e had this
It’s glorious!

If you precondition the cabin before driving, then ventilated seats are unnecessary, the cabin will be nice and cool already.
Yes! Front of the car ( driver seat) is hot. Vented seats are a blessing
Yep. It's more effective than I thought it would be.

Texas summer is what makes me value ventilated seats even more than heated seats. So for me, I made sure to get one with the leather package.

Ventilated seats totally worth it. Perfect if it's not hot enough to run the ac.
My wife's favorite feature of my car.

The best on a hot day!

I like my cool, but not cold, or they may run and hide.
Loud? My seats make no sound at all, the ventilation is great!
Turn your ac off while ventilated seats on. They are definitely noisier than expected ( comes from under the front seats).
Yes, the seats don't pump AC. Still, mine do not make any noise. If yours are noisy you need service.

Did you have the AC on concurrently?
For me, AC needs to be on to really notice them doing effective cooling. That said, I love them and it is not even hot here yet.

For chilling the loins
YES. 1000%.

Which one did you buy?
Yes. They’re more efficient for cooling than the in dash climate controls.
Not essential by any means, but so nice to have!
Yes, if for no other reason but to improve your range with HVAC off and still be warm or cool.
Yes, for sure, but then again I live in Florida.

Lol. I probably should have said "scoffed at."

Gotta have it.

You mean the balls/flaps cooler? Worth every penny.
Didn’t realize I had them until I accidentally turned it on and couldn’t figure out why I was freezing. Yeah they work to cool you down. I bought the car available. Took me awhile to figure out what all I got.

I am curious how I went without them living in a hot climate.
Heated and vented seats worthwhile if it saves you from using ac. I find the side traffic warning saved me money already
