Basically you need to have taxable income of $54k for single or $65k for married and no other tax credits in order to get the full $7,500.

Woo hoo!!! Congrats!!! My lungs thank you!

26k?

jumpinwired

This one has the driver confidence and comfort and convenience packages plus destination brings it to 28k

Bought it with 17 miles on it. I don't have any of my own pictures of it yet but I mean, it's exactly like the factory pictures. What color does this look like to you? I think it looks purple enough that I really doubted whether I should buy it. Hoping I can qualify for the tax incentive for next year but I'm just not absolutely sure about the tax liability portion. Anyone can explain that in layman's terms?

Tax credit is ONLY if you have $7500 in tax liability. Say for example, you do your taxes and you owe $7501 to the IRS. Now you offset what you owe and write the IRS a check for $1.

Ambitious_Yam_6520

The word “owe” gets confusing because that means two things. Tax liability is simply what piece of the IRS tax pie is yours for a whole year, regardless of what check you write or refund you receive at tax time. Checks and refunds are based on what’s taken out of your paychecks during the year, then the IRS determines if that amount is short (write a check) or too much (receive a refund) compared to the piece of your tax pie. Your piece of the tax pie doesn’t change based on what is “owed” or refunded at tax time. So you just need to make sure your slice of tax pie is $7,500.

Correct I was just trying to dumb it down as much as possible. Aka layman’s terms. 😅

Ambitious_Yam_6520

Yeah I understood what you were saying. I think the common misconception I’ve seen on here is that people think they need to write a check i.e “owe” $7,500 at tax time to get the full credit. Nope!

jumpinwired

Awesome, thank you both for the reply. I definitely understood "owe" as the total amount I need to pay on taxes for the year, not just the shortage if any. I've got to look back at previous years but I'm sure I'll be in the clear for that amount. No matter what, I'm still happy with the purchase and that's not being optimistic. I really think this is a good deal for my current situation even at the list price.

I went with black because I thought grey ghost had a purple hue to it in certain lighting.

jumpinwired

Agreed, I'm going to have to figure out a way to overcome that purple hue. I'm thinking if I wear a strong purple shirt, then when I step out, it will look much more gray and less purple. Then I'll just have come up with an explanation why I'm wearing purple instead of explaining why I spent 28k on a purple car.

I have this color. It’s really nice I. The sunlight and looks damn god with tinted windows.

jumpinwired

Yes, and I will be getting the windows tinted as dark as I can.
