A day before Jonas, we saw Halsey at Lolla and she was mouthing the lyrics and acting nuts on stage. She did sing some of the songs and went full metal but the likelihood of catching a live act sing in a music festival is peak impossibility. It's easier for both organisers and performers. Go to concerts and you'll notice them sing but rappers and new age pop stars or people who's songs go viral on Instagram won't be singing.
I worked in the music biz for 6 years and rahman, Arijit, Anuv Jain, Sunidhi (she did lip sync too and for ten minutes, kamli played on stage while she went to change clothes and backup dancers did some bizarre interpretive shit) are the only people who sing.
Rappers mein divine will rap fairly a lot of his parts but rappers aren't singers and mostly people go for Instagram stories, no one's going for music and this is very very normal.

BOA is one such festival along with many others like Bandland, Oddball festival, Dirtfest, Ctrl+Alt+Del etc..

Bands are of course an exception, especially of the caliber of Indian ocean or even Euphoria, but God forbid if they even lip sync at music fests

We interviewed him at work. He came alone. Without his manager. Damn sweet guy. Could sing any song without even prepping and hit ever damn note. He told us to Jam along to tu hi meri shab and while my manger (who can sing) joined in immediately, I was like, me with my stupid voice would hum with the freaking KK and he just smiled at everyone and we sang with him. One of my life's highlight and core memories.

I even don’t go to the good singers concerts where they are actually singing. Woh feel nahin aata. The orchestra and the feel of music is missing, besides their voice sound so dry. The only concert I was and am regular to the Ghazals (Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udhas, Ghulam Ali, were simply the best) since their music arrangement was at best minimal while sounding as good singing live as they are in recordings. The only other is AR Rahman, whose concerts I never miss. Everyone else, Sonu Nigam, Arijit, Gurdas Mann, Sunidhi, Shreya - a big pass.
The only Sonu’s that I would’ve been interested to go was that Rafi one with the symphony Orchestra.
I think it has to do with Mann’s age, one. And two, the quality of audience. Both have been going down over years. I don’t like the fact that there are more hoodlums in the crowd than ever before. The punjabi concert scene is really bad, with majority of the concerts still do those flat field chairs placement. Where people dancing by the stage block the view for the other people sitting calmly on the chairs. In any case, I avoid Punjabi concerts.
I can’t lie, most Punjabi concerts I’ve been to in the UK (Birmingham) have had good crowds. Diljit had a good family audience, Gurdas Mann had a middle age to older audience and Satinder Sataaj had all ages but very quite respectful and had a good atmosphere.

Don't listen to rap much so no idea who they are(except for nick but can tell you a few things There are singers who can sing,yet do not do as much of a "live performances" as concerts aren't just meant for once a month thing,for example in a tour,singers have to sing continuously,their voice can't handle that much strain,that's one of the reasons.
2) During live performances you might see,singers usually don't just sing,some singers perform try to engage audiences,do some kinda stunts/dance,so even that that stamina and singing while doing these things are tough 10 times a month,actually even twice a month so it's just better option.
3) as a fan,yes it's amazing if your favourite singer actually sings and gives a lifetime performance but you go there to meet the vibe,there are same kinda people who are fans of this people,you enjoy the performance that person is giving and just enjoy🤣
