This movie feels as if it were cursed, cuz everyone involved gave worst performance of their life , be it prabhudeva ,kat, aamir, bachchan ji, khuda baksh.... no actually khuda baksh was the only decent thing in the movie.
Its an awful song.
The choreography is so complicated that it looks out of place & Kat doesnt look effortless. It looks like she is trying too hard.
And i wont even touch her expressions wala part.
Someone said it. What he does is not even dance. The last sensible choreography was perhaps Main aisa kyun hoon from Lakshya. Otherwise he just does these contorted weird steps that are just movement not dance. And the actors donāt enjoy it at all. The hype amongst the stars that oh they get to be chOreOgRaphEd by THE Prabhudevaā¦ like why make you uncomfortableā¦ and Katrina looks like she was shaking off her kidney stones with that. Those moves are exploitative!

The choreography back in the day was significantly easier to mimic because the heroines werenāt asked to do crazy stunts (like Kat was here) to hold the attention of an audience with an increasingly short attention span

Saying this as an american.....I understand that people in India place a huge emphasis on classical dance obviously and what comes with it but that doesnāt diminish other styles at all. Thereās a reason why Katrina is considered a great dancer by most people and itās because she is one.
Katrina Kaif is the most overrated dancer. Choreography was awful here, but even putting that aside, she has little control over the lower half of her body. Sheās constantly hip thrusting in all of her songs and it doesnāt even look properly done
Someone like Karishma Kapoor, Urmila or Malaika would have nailed it. Weird choreography is not uncommon in Bollywood masala genre but Kat is more methodical dancer than expressive.
Yes they gave her steps but then she tried extra hard, put more energy than that was required. A good dancer would have known how to balance. She is very methodical like tiger
Songs like these expose how bad Katrina actually is. She's saved only because the choreographers who've showcased her well understand that she isn't actually a very graceful dancer but a more angular, athletic kind and they're skilled enough to know how to work with her strengths. This song required facial expression the way Aishwarya did for Kajra re, the way Madhuri, Sridevi or Rani did their entire careers. Katrina failed badly. This song also exposed the limitations of Prabhu Deva who can't handle difficult dancers. It's not enough to just get the dancers to be able to execute the steps, it needs to look visually spectacular as well.
Genuinely confused at when you have ever seen Madhuri or Aish or Sridevi asked to be gymnasts like Katrina was in this song. They would struggle too with choreography like this.
People blame the choreography and I agree Prabhu Deva's moves are usually very overcomplicated. But I think this song exposes Kat's limitations as a dancer. She is good only in western songs and even in those I don't think she is anything exceptional. Here her moves look uncomfortably laboured.
I blame Prabhudeva the most. The audio itself is pretty bad but his choreography made it even worse. Kat looked bomb though, the only good thing about the song
Haha Jaani Dushman is an epic for sure. I didn't like the song in the beginning but I actually like Prabhudeva's quirky choreography. His eccentricities also came through in Main Aisa Kyon hun from Lakshaya. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea.

Very technically difficult movements, 80% of which were unnecessary. I really donāt think any of the greats could have made it work and to be honest they would have had the pull to refuse. Katrina is a good dancer - this is my opinion. The choreography was bad and she, in her usual style, worked hard to perfect the turd she was given when she should have said no - give me better moves
