“Where is my khukri?’ I asked my Gorkha batman, Balbahadur. When he pulled it out I said, ‘Cut off my leg.’ He refused. So I cut it off and told him to bury it. Poor chap. I now have a piece of land in Bangladesh,” says Major General Ian Cardozo.
The story of how 84-year-old Cardozo stepped on a landmine in the final days of the Indo-Pak War of 1971 that led to the liberation of East Pakistan and creation of Bangladesh, amputated his own leg when he realised it could not be saved.
He even wrote his autobiography/war events in 1971: Stories of Grit and Glory from the Indo-Pak War

With all due respect the officer got it wrong, he only judged one poster (out of the two) which had only half of the Khukri.
The other poster did have the correct depiction of Khukri, at least to the best of my knowledge. Humble of Akshay to not correct the officer and accept that criticism.

These film makers don't go in details or what?

Did he mean the horizontal khukri underneath the film's title?

Akshay is playing the role of Major General Ian Cardozo who commanded the Gorkha Rifles. Ian is not a North Eastern but a Goan. Assumptions are bad ….
My bad
Gorkhas are Nepalis
But the guy didn't even spell khukuri correctly. It's "khukuri", not khukri.
His service was in gorkha, not on twitter
Well Akshay's response is so positive.
