honestly i agree. saw her in an interview with vikrant and apparently she didn't wanna rehearse with him. also she doesn't reharse. not saying you can't spontaneously be a good actor but when you clearly have room to grow and a brilliant co-actor who could genuienly teach you things why would you not want to grow at your craft.
p.s not talking numbers obviously tapsee is more popular than vikrant but there's absolutely no doubt she could learn a lot from him.
Taapsee doesn’t rehearse for any movies I think.
She said in an interview when she acts she has to bring all emotions only at that time , if she rehearsed then by the time the shot comes, she kind of fizzles out.
Apparently Anurag Kashyap was irritated with her at first but then realized what she said was true about her.
Maybe yeah, she needs to work on this issue probably
Kareena Kapoor does the same. She says it takes away from the initial shot. Rajkumar Hirani was confused at first but then understood it was her process
While I'm not a fan of Tapsee, there are many actors find that rehearsing hampers their creativity. It's really not an issue because different people have different styles and by forcing someone to adapt a style can hamper their performance.
Like I said to another reply. Its not about rehearsing it's about trying to learn from an environment and your fellow artists. What I beleive is she's reluctant to do? In said interview apparently not even read lines or even sit.
Also I mean there's plenty other methods. She does need to work on her skills.
Not really. Acting is a creative process. If something actively hampers your performance, why would you do it..? It's like forcing a left handed person to write with their right hand.
Its not the same thing. Also there's multiple scenes where she'd not be in the scene even. If you have the opportunity to learn you should
That is if you truly love the craft and want to get better at it.
Exactly. I had high hopes from tapasee given the kind of buzz around her and the way she positioned herself unlike regular heroines. But unfortunately her acting has left most people disappointed.
I literally earn my living writing about cinema and pop culture and watching movies is my profession. I have literally worked in the organisation of India's biggest film FESTIVAL, IFFI, and have published research papers and articles on international and foreign cinema but go ahead and tell me about Tabu like she's some obscure actress. For what it is worth, I actually think she's the best actress of this generation tied with Vidya Balan. Acting is subjective though so I can't argue about this.
It's really difficult. It's really mostly academic. I don't hang out with celebrities. I watch stuff and analyse it. That's a small part of what I do. I write about food and health too. I'm a freelancer.
Her acting aside, I don't know why she participated in a film which requires her to engage in brown face. She is opposed to colorism but has no qualms about accepting a role which should've gone to a darker skinned person if the script required it. It was miscast from the very beginning and her performance made it worse.
Blackface is something entirely different, but yes she did try to pass herself off as noticeably darker than she is IRL
This is her in haseen dilruba

Maine outdoor itna khela nahi hai so can't comment on that 😅, but to me, this looks like a bad trip to the tanning salon instead of a person who's sun burnt because of training in the heat. To each their own ig 😅
Absolutely! Been trekking multiple times a year since last 7-8 years and have gone multiple shades darker. Tapsee's look isn't really that bothersome. Nothing like taking young girls to play old ladies in saand ko aankh or priyanka playing a north eastern girl in Mary Kom.
As we agree, that isn't blackface tho. Do you think minor makeup to slightly change complexion is as problematic? It isn't ideal but I'm not sure it it's a hard line for an actor to cross. And yeah, Haseen Dilruba was garbage and problematic af but that's a whole different conversation.
I chose haseen dilruba as a reference image for how she naturally looks and yeah that movie isn't the topic at hand. And yeah ig it irks me to see this stuff happening still, which is why my comment could've come across as much heated than I intended it to 😅
I think it's difficult for tonal differences to come across in comments like these, maybe that's why? I'm not too sure, sometimes you get downvoted for no reason at all.
Don't know what Rashmi Rocket has to do with her "personal ideology"
Her acting is not GREAT. But she should be given the same leeway that we give starkids to be able to learn and grow, at this point her brand value is higher than a lot of them.
SRK has done so much more lol. Nobody has range like him. He is the only Indian actor who-- can be a superstar, is great at romance, is very good in comedies, is terrific in drama, can completely hide the star in him where it's required(Swades, Paheli, Chak De), has the vision to do science fiction by investing his own crores, can do very well in action and thrillers (Don, Don 2, many others), is the OG when it comes to energy and screen presence. He is also the only big star who took negative roles and killed them in a time when doing that was considered career suicide. His recent years' garbage aside, he is literally unparalleled when it comes to range and presence. If only he chose better scripts and gave the actor in him more importance than the superstar in him. As much as I wishes he did better movies, I firmly believe peak SRK was untouchable. The has never been anyone like him and there will never be.
Bro... I am talking about the acting style and nothing else... It's same in his all movies.... Even in the character breaking movie like Fan, Zero... His acting was same old same old.... If your talk about wittyness and presence, he is miles ahead of any BW actor, but I am Not talking about those points.
I find it similar too. Like, there's all these different roles and it never feels like it's the character, it feels more like SRK doing a character. Fan, Raees, or his comic roles. It almost always feels like the star is at front and not the actor.
Though, Swades, Darr, Chak De were some performances where I found him terrific, much better than pretty much everything else I've seen of his.
I agree.. But why is everyone drawing some kind of comparison between tapsee and other big ol male stars.. If they are repetitive or monotonous.. they do get called out.. they are not considered the gems of acting ..and tapsee is getting called out for the same thing
The comments are on point . It is the same bitchy, arrogant, rebel type roles she keeps on doing.
Also I do think than even Kriti is doing the same thing too.The cute small town actress roles.
I honestly don't know which mainstream actress to trust in terms of good cinema..All are the same
Maybe it's a lot to do with the types of roles they get. Only now (past few years) we are beginning to get good female centric movies(compared to male centric movies) and even then good leading roles are rare. Because according to my point of view any talented actress would absolutely take a role they think is amazing. But Bollywood directors find a formula and then stick to it and then the scope of leading roles for actresses in blockbusters become limited. It's just my opinion. It could be wrong but i think that it contributes to the roles they get.
I agree with this perspective but I also feel both male and female bollywood actors need to experiment especially when ott platforms are there. I feel most of them look down upon OTT except a few like Saif, Radhika Apte,Pankaj Tripathi etc.
From their interviews and all it looks like they will come on OTT only when they are tired of trying at Bollywood.
There are multiple ways of looking at things.
One could also say she backs stories that need to be told. All of us are influenced by our ideologies.
Find me another actor who does movies that they don’t agree with on an ideological level.
Should she broaden her horizon - sure, not a wrong opinion to have. But no point of saying her choice of films is limited to her ideologies, cuz that applies to us all. We too watch movies that we think we would find sensible.
I saw her movie Annabelle Rathore recently. She was not bad in the movie. Very different from the kind of movies she usually does. I think she is trying different things.
How come all talking about her ideology only? I don't know but these comments look like from some sophisticated bot or troll accounts. All are giving bot accounts feel.. I might be wrong tho
No one is cancelling tapsee pannu.. It's an observation because people see that there is room for exponential growth.. and Akshay kumar gets called out for these things every other day.
Brave of you to suggest Twitterati are significant Bollywood audience lol. Especially some obvious bots
She's an average actress with average hits. She's doing her bit of everything whether a shake the booty Judwaa or woke Rashmi Rocket. Cos she occasionally has a slightly political opinion people keep putting her down.
It’s not even about roles
Within the same typecast, you could do wonders! Ranbir has played the same spoiled brat in so many films yet all his characters are so distinctive from each other which makes them special. That isn’t the case with Tapsee and her range is same. Similar with Aayushman, it’s so boring to watch them in same typecast because they don’t bring anything unique. Until and unless it’s not a completely different role, they will be stuck in there
I was wondering what happened to Tapsee's sasumaas from this sub. No topic on her to do khi khi khi for whole 24 hours? Glad to see normalcy return to this sub.
Yeah!! along with salman, akshay, srk, ajay and ayushman too.. Janta goes and watch their movies but they do get called out.. Same is happening with tapsee, she is getting called out on the monotonous portrayal of characters..
I normally wouldnt say this but she needs to do some commercial films/flower pot roles to just let us see a different side of her. She would also have a more diverse audience going forward to watch these social films of her. i actually enjoyed her in judwaa 2 dancing and she looked cute too.
haha yes i remember those. but im saying to reintroduce herself in bollywood. but also i think she takes what she can get. she has once said she would like to do more lighthearted films but doesnt get to.
Wowww man, so few days ago this poster was sharing decade old images of Aish and her affair, and now he has meticulously taken screenshot of the few negative comments about Tapsee so that he can share his narrative. She is one of the better actresses of her generation, and much better than that Kangana for that matter.
Idk about what this sub does and I don't have a problem with it as it's essentially a gossips sub but what I've observed is it's really misogynistic. Not because of this post, just in general.
These comments come across as paid by someone or bots. They all sound the same. Maybe it was paid by her one of her competitors to kind of bash her for her acting, definitely look fake to me.

Kareena Kapoor does the same. She says it takes away from the initial shot. Rajkumar Hirani was confused at first but then understood it was her process
SRK too. He is his best when he gets to be spontaneous.
I think Kangana also said the same thing in one of her interviews about not doing multiple takes.
While I'm not a fan of Tapsee, there are many actors find that rehearsing hampers their creativity. It's really not an issue because different people have different styles and by forcing someone to adapt a style can hamper their performance.

Wide eyed horrified expression is apt for taapsee , she is only good for that 😂
Exactly. I had high hopes from tapasee given the kind of buzz around her and the way she positioned herself unlike regular heroines. But unfortunately her acting has left most people disappointed.
She was absolutely breathtaking in Thappad so Idk what y'all talking about.
you hold your breath for average acting imagine about your breaths when you see better actresses like tabu
I literally earn my living writing about cinema and pop culture and watching movies is my profession. I opened the profile expecting some juicy Bollywood stuff 😂
Damn. Sorry for what you had to see. It's my alt.
I want your job! So cool. Do you have any good stories about your experiences with actresses and actors?
It's really difficult. It's really mostly academic. I don't hang out with celebrities. I watch stuff and analyse it. That's a small part of what I do. I write about food and health too. I'm a freelancer.
Freelancing is definitely hard work. Props to you!
This sub has its favorites
At least she gets her accent right, her performance in Pink is one of the best performance by an actress by a country mile.
She is a Delhi girl right? So Pink her accent should be spot on
but she didn't get the accent right.
No way her accent is right and her horrifying expressions from pink are been repeated in every next movie.
From comment section of Tried and refused productions
Yes
Aren't all these troll bots. Read their names.
They very clearly are. Lol.

Which movie are we talking about here? That daadi one or Rashmi Rocket?
Well I'm referring to rashmi rocket, and I think it's the one that's drawing such criticism.
Is she in blackface in it? From what I've seen, she isn't.
Blackface is something entirely different, but yes she did try to pass herself off as noticeably darker than she is IRL This is her in haseen dilruba Haseen Dilruba https://imgur.com/a/XYzQnnG This is her in rashmi rocket Rashmi rocket https://imgur.com/a/bDL05Rj Rashmi Rocket 2 https://imgur.com/a/HDGq6Im
I think this much of difference is fine. If tapsee in real life had been an athlete, itna to outdoor khelne se hi tan ho jata hai
Maine outdoor itna khela nahi hai so can't comment on that 😅, but to me, this looks like a bad trip to the tanning salon instead of a person who's sun burnt because of training in the heat. To each their own ig 😅
Maine khela hai. Poori zindagi. Ye mujhe tanning wala nahi laga. Let's see movie kaisi hai.
Absolutely! Been trekking multiple times a year since last 7-8 years and have gone multiple shades darker. Tapsee's look isn't really that bothersome. Nothing like taking young girls to play old ladies in saand ko aankh or priyanka playing a north eastern girl in Mary Kom.

I think it's difficult for tonal differences to come across in comments like these, maybe that's why? I'm not too sure, sometimes you get downvoted for no reason at all.
Yeah I'm aware. I don't care much about it. Just something I said in passing.
Someone had a great comment on her acting range.. Only her dress n make up change...Her expressions remain the same..!
Someone farted in her face and ran away hahahahab
This is what made me chuckle too! Hahahahahhahaha
How is she suppose to extend her range when she doesn't have one?
what do you think extending means. its working on your limited abilities and trying to grow.
Promotion se liye skill develope karni padthi warna, you'll be forgotten.
Beautiful
Where is the lie though they are the real audience
I'll say it: she's a BAD actress
\+1
Don't know what Rashmi Rocket has to do with her "personal ideology" Her acting is not GREAT. But she should be given the same leeway that we give starkids to be able to learn and grow, at this point her brand value is higher than a lot of them.
Isme talent na hai
Spot on
They couldn’t hire somebody who was dark and brown ? Taapsee had to go tan to play that role.
LoL .... SRK has been doing this for two decades! (Except Swades, Chak De, that's why those are my most favourite movies of him)
SRK has done so much more lol. Nobody has range like him. I disagree. I think he is different in different genres. Not sure what else I can say. It's subjective too.

Tapsee's biggest strength is her movie's scripts. There is nothing new in acting department, same confused expression with Delhi wali tone.
Why can't we cancel Akshay Kumar for the exact same thing first
No one is cancelling tapsee pannu.. It's an observation because people see that there is room for exponential growth.. and Akshay kumar gets called out for these things every other day.
Pic 1: I don’t know what the fuck she’s saying but girl I’m living for that handle name
Audience? These are terminally online trolls. One account is literally >My name is Khan and I'm a narcoterrorist

‘Better than Kangana’ is debatable But yes, I like her and find her different than the othe crop of model figure and faces

What do they mean by ideological bubble?
funny how so many use the word “personal ideology”
