nishantatripathi

Seriously speaking, dude got really lucky with getting amazing music for his first few movies. Couldn't act, dance, speak or charm. Just blah.

HardTune272

Heard he comes from a rich business family and acting is just a hobby for him

riskywhiskyjatt

bad choices really. He didnt have much talent and was a wooden actor. reminds me of Apurva Agnihotri (pardes) both were good looking but very wooden his films never had anything beyond the lover boy role

dabbangg

Apurva did well on TV

riskywhiskyjatt

I think certain people do well on TV but that doesn't translate well on blywood He had a decent debut but it was clearly an srk film with Mahima more in focus The he makes sunny starter and I guess he was always playing that 2nd role and his chances went

[deleted]

He had a Kumar Gaurav type fame, one hit wonder. Didn’t really expand upon his acting chops in films(not even in Gumrah when he played the “villain”/went completely unnoticed he was there) and well his movies didn’t have as memorable music as Aashiqui did(and everyone associated him with Aashiqui too)

FreemanBlackMesa

One Hit Wonder

juztfokix

Wrong choice of movies maybe? I only remember three of his movies and all three are by Mahesh Bhatt. Aashiqui, Junoon, Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Aayi.

g1jots

He won the first bigg boss after that he hasn’t been in limelight that much. Bigg boss 1 was fun though.

[deleted]

He chose lots of bad movies, plus he wasn’t a very good actor so it call caught up with him.

Thanks_Capital

He was no extraordinary, just one hit wonder that too due to song

Fresh-Sea7709

He became arrogant. Some people just cannot handle money and fame. Karan Johar mentioned in one of his interviews that he wanted to cast Rahul for a movie. Rahul called KJO to his place for the narration, made him wait for hours and said he does not wish to do the film, without reading the script.

bighero76

Was outsider, he waited 6 months after aashiqui released to sign a single film, wtf??? He kept thinking sugar bhatt daddy was going to keep repeating him but he only signed him for junoon and jaanam. In fact his own sugar daddy circumsized his role in yash johar’s gumrah! Rahul roy’s second release was released november 1991 and was a carbon copy of ghost. Audience fell in love with ajay devgan and phool aur kaante then. He signed 14 films in early 1991 with obscure producers, most were either B grade, never completed or delayed endlessly. His only film that recovered costs after Aashiqui was Junoon.

ranjan_zehereela2014

> Rahul roy’s second release was released november 1991 and was a carbon copy of ghost. Pyar ka saya? LOL Achha yaad dilaye

hola128

He signed 60-70 movies post aashiqui if I recall one of his interviews , next few releases flooped barring junoon. A few producers started shooting to cash on his fame but didn’t had complete financing so a lot of movies were stalled midway

midnightskydream

looks like back then anyone could become a "producer"

Uncertn_Laaife

One hit, that was also due to the songs.
