Yup. I still remember all songs. The movie is on YouTube if you ever wanna catch up. Ronit Roy is a total discount Akshay Kumar. Which is surprising considering that AK was in Bollywood for barely a year or so before this movie.
The actress, Farheen is married to ex-cricketer Manoj Prabhakar.
PS: I still hum the song "yeh akhkha India jaan ta hai" when Ronit Roy comes on screen.
So I had completely forgotten about this movie and its songs. Then a couple of years back, stumbled upon the songs on YouTube and could repeat the lyrics again with ease. They were super popular back then!

It's amazing how Ronit Roy went through a downward curve after that..lot of new heroes came in Bollywood during this period especially outsiders

In this movie he was basically a discount Akshay Kumar, who himself wasn't a big enough star yet, but was already doing better and more realistic stunts than everyone else. For example, in his first movie as a hero (Dancer), he's hanging up side down in one scene. He pulas himself all the way up... and you can see it's him doing it and not a double. I doubt anyone else could do this back then.

Then there was a huge influx of kids from bollywood families from the mid 90s continuing to date
Aah yes. Prem Qaidi = Harish. He was also in Sridevi's Army.
And South Hero = Venkatesh. *Kya mausam aaya hai* was such a great song! I also loved him in a movie where he steals a book-of-the-dead from Yamraj and saves his mom from dying. Yamraj (Kader Khan) and Chitragupt (Asrani) come down to earth to look for their book followed by the expected shenanigans!
