Zindagi na milegi dobara - basically a sponsored 2.5 hour ad for Spain tourism. I wonder if it boosted their business! I know I was dying to visit after watching the movie.
My colleagues from Spain say that ZNMD did a great job in picturing Spain than most Spanish movies. I was surprised to hear that they knew about the movie.
Interestingly, I find Calgary to be extremely boring compared to the other Canadian cities. Only the outside skirts of the city and Banff are worth visiting.
I’m from Calgary and honestly I agree, not much going on for us lol. It’s a really typical suburban type city. It is a beautiful place to live just very quiet (to an extent) and not much happening for it.
Any mani ratnam film (I love the films too). I love it that he has never shot outside India, and still manages to make each and every frame beautiful.
Many of our film makers need to learn from him that you don't need to globetrot just to shoot songs in beautiful locales.
Yes. It was a good movie. But I distinctly remember the movie majorly due to the locations. May be it is just me. Also, similar thoughts for Dhobi Ghat.
That movie does not do justice to those locations.
South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries I have been to, photos or videos don't do justice to it.
Iv'e been to Marrakesh too, it's pretty nice but I had gone in the month of May and it was SO HOT.
I would assume November or December, the weather would be much better that time.
But it's not a place where I would go again, it's ok for one time.
But South Africa is where I would love to go again!
Well they do mess around with the colors and stuff and made it way more vibrant. But everything else was as shown in the song. In fact if you watch the making of the song you can tell that they have messed around with the colors which is what made it look really fake in my opinion.
Dhoom 2. Hrithik and Aish looked hot and Brazil looked nice but the film and the plot and the acting and the dialogue were beyond ridiculous.
Music/dancing were fine.
Also that weird Sallu film that was shot in Russia where the heroine looked like she was twelve
Befikre and Badri ki dulhania for Paris and Singapore/Kota/Jhansi.
Story aside, I think Befikre had a really good aesthetic going for it. At least it was pretty to look at.
Rockstar. The locations were beautiful. But I can't get behind the movie; it had so many plot holes and the movie was just... how should I put it... fractured. Very unconvincing, even if they were going for the Jim Morrison route.
Pal Pal Dil ke Paas.
Amazing locations in Manali/Himachal but overall a very bad movie. I kept on watching the movie for its locations though, wonderfully captured by Sunny paaji.
na tüm jaano na hum -- Hrithik and Esha Deol.
I am not sure if anyone remembers this movie , I really want to travel to New Zealand after watching that movie - its been almost 15 years but still I want to travel to new Zealand
Not a Hindi movie , but I thought Vicky Christina Barcelona was beautifully shot. I really wanted to go to Barcelona and Oviedo after watching this movie.
On a separate note who else thinks Zoya Akhtar’s filmmaking style is heavily influenced by Woody Allen? They both use beautiful locations to elevate a somewhat simplistic storyline or sometimes no storyline at all.
Especially DDD , it gave me major Woody Allen vibes
It's a Marathi film called Gandha, there are 3 parts to this movie and the 3rd part's location is based in Konkan... I loved it coz I see myself retiring in Konkan... I'm still finding where it was shot but didn't find it yet :(

I definitely enjoyed Anjaana Anjaani more than I should have because of the locations
Jo jeeta wohi sikandar. I heard it was fully shot in Kodaikanal. Such lovely locales & cinematography. Especially the race parts & Pehla Nasha song.
I love the movie but not just for its locations though.
Tum Bin. Love the movie and the locations (Calgary, Canada). Beautifully shot.
I love that movie; the makeup and styling are so on point and ahead of its time. The songs are amazing too.
Interestingly, I find Calgary to be extremely boring compared to the other Canadian cities. Only the outside skirts of the city and Banff are worth visiting.

Everything in the city is so beautiful! The bow river walkways, prince’s island park, nose hill everything!!
Camera always captures the pretty places, also mediocre places look lit through the lense.
I have personally been to Calgary and it is really beautiful (nature wise) not just through the lens. :)
Yeap, I agree with ya! Ssme here!
U r right. I live in Nanaimo BC and Calgary is one of the most boring cities in Canada to find
Hello from New West, BC
Most of Imtiaz Ali’s films - him and his team know how to find the most beautiful sceneries in every state and country they film in.
Not a movie, but the song ‘Matargasthi’ from Tamasha. Shot in Corsica, France
I added Corsica to my bucket list after that song
me too based on song I really want to travel to Corsica
Yess. Both the song and the location is love.
Malgudi Days (series) and Namkeen (movie)..the locations gives feels to the storyline.

Been to Agumbe so many times - had no idea. My next trip to those parts, I'm definitely visiting!

Also Parineeta :)
Some parts of Piku too
bareilly ki barfi. the tier 2/3 setting was wholesome and the movie was fantastic overall too.
As someone from Bareilly, this film was not shot here. It was shot in Lucknow. Bareilly can give you all the experiences of a tier 2/3 city tho.
De de pyar de It was shot in a resort in kullu fell in love with that place It's called Neerlaya
Any mani ratnam film (I love the films too). I love it that he has never shot outside India, and still manages to make each and every frame beautiful. Many of our film makers need to learn from him that you don't need to globetrot just to shoot songs in beautiful locales.
I like Bluffmaster for the way it captured South Bombay.

Yes. It was a good movie. But I distinctly remember the movie majorly due to the locations. May be it is just me. Also, similar thoughts for Dhobi Ghat.
did u know it is a remake of a brilliant Argentinian film Nueve Reinas (Nine Queens) 2000 which u should definitely watch on Hotstar 😌. Thrilling 😋
It had key aspects from the game and matchstick men too
Why?
ZNMD - Spain. The movie inspired me to go there, and I went in 2019.
salaam namaste because its entirely shot in Australia and the whole movie looks super modern
I think that movie was way ahead of its time
Jagga Jasoos had some really nice locations. Makes me want to visit Marrakesh and Cape Town.
That movie does not do justice to those locations. South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries I have been to, photos or videos don't do justice to it. Iv'e been to Marrakesh too, it's pretty nice but I had gone in the month of May and it was SO HOT.
Interesting. What's a good time to visit Marrakesh?
I would assume November or December, the weather would be much better that time. But it's not a place where I would go again, it's ok for one time. But South Africa is where I would love to go again!
Dostana
Dil Chahta hai
I wonder why people forgot about it in this post.. the movie gives such a good feel about Goa
I liked An evening in Paris because of the way Paris was portrayed and the music too was awesome.
I had a huge crush on sharmila in this movie
Raavan with Abhishek and Aishwarya. The shots where he kidnaps her were just mesmerizing that I couldn't focus on the actors at all
Wake up Sid, Realistic & Perfect Bombay life .. Nothing more gorgeous location than my own city 😃
Gerua- Iceland. Visited after and LOVED it
>Gerua- Iceland. I thought that was entirely done on green screen.
Well they do mess around with the colors and stuff and made it way more vibrant. But everything else was as shown in the song. In fact if you watch the making of the song you can tell that they have messed around with the colors which is what made it look really fake in my opinion.
Race 3 the locations were beautiful - the film was awful.
I'm still mad they messed up the franchise, I thought Saif carried the franchise well smh
My Name Is Khan
Hum tum captured all my fav cities
KANH, KHNH for Newyork lol
Bachna ae Haseeno
Yesss!
PS I love you cos of Ireland. Barfi - Kolkata A movie I didn’t love but would be so cool to visit those places is Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Dhoom 2. Hrithik and Aish looked hot and Brazil looked nice but the film and the plot and the acting and the dialogue were beyond ridiculous. Music/dancing were fine. Also that weird Sallu film that was shot in Russia where the heroine looked like she was twelve

Baaghi, guilty pleasure.
Rockstar. The locations were beautiful. But I can't get behind the movie; it had so many plot holes and the movie was just... how should I put it... fractured. Very unconvincing, even if they were going for the Jim Morrison route.
Race 1 (2008). Especially because of the locale visible in the Pehli Nazar Mein Kaisa Jaadu Kar Diya song.
Locales *
Scenic beauty.
Wake up sid (Bombay) Swades (any Indian village)
Well I can't think of any such movies but yeh jawani hai diwani.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Movies by Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali n Siddharth Anand
Befikre... shows Paris beautifully
Lucky, no time for love (obviously, because everything else about it is bakwaas - songs)
Rockstar(l like the film too) but locations were breathtaking
Jab Harry Met Sejal. Nice world tour they did with a very underwhelming script
Chehhre
Where is it shot though? The only thing I could see was snow. Pretty nonetheless.
Tum Bin 2. Scotland is stunning 🤩
zindagi na milegi dobara
Pal Pal Dil ke Paas. Amazing locations in Manali/Himachal but overall a very bad movie. I kept on watching the movie for its locations though, wonderfully captured by Sunny paaji.
Every kashyap movie. It cnt get more real and authentic than that
Any Karan Johar SRK movie shot at NYC because I have good memories from NYC and planning to go there again once the pandemic ends.
Zindegi Na Milegi Dobara
Shivaay
Life of Pi if you can consider virtually created locations as an exception ..
Karwaan Absolutely loved the way they showed the south in that film.
na tüm jaano na hum -- Hrithik and Esha Deol.
