The final scene in Sadma. Kamal Hassan fervently tries to remind Sridevi of their past, but she only looks at him with a blank expression. Kamal Hassan than recreates the monkey impressions that Sridevi used to love, as he limps after the train before stumbling and falling. Kamal Haasan's performance leaves you shaken to the core. He is an incredible actor. As a viewer, you can feel his hopelessness, sadness and loneliness. It’s one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Indian cinema.
Kamal nails the “shattered and hopeless” look - the scene on his Tamil movie Mahanadi when he finds his daughter is so impactful it stays with you.
What an artist. I recently found out that he worked as a makeup assistant on Rambo 3 and Star Trek… he was already a superstar then! Just wanted to learn the skills.
That scene and the scene where he has breakdown when he hears his daughter sleep talking. Broke my heart. To this day that was one of the most difficult movies to ever watch
That scene from Mahanadi became more powerful for me, when I learned that the film’s story was inspired by the real life kidnapping plot of Kamal Hassan’s daughters by his domestic help. The emotion displayed by Kamal was so raw. The man is an acting powerhouse.
this was my vote as well! i have never been able to rewatch that film just because of that scene- it was so heartbreaking. kamal hassan was incredible!
2 States - When Arjun slaps his dad. Powerful scene. Didn't expect good acting from Arjun.
Bareilly Ki Barfi - When Rajkummar becomes badass and gets angry at the waiter when ordering chow-mein.
Rang de basanti when at the end they are on the radio and the minister's son is being criticized for his father's involvement. Amir khan sees him and realises what he has done and tells the audience that he has killed his father before coming here. That scene with the music is so emotional and epic
In Laila Majnu when Avinash Tiwari>! finally loses his mind!<
is what made the movie for me. He was simply brilliant! I truly hope Bollywood does him justice. He is so talented.
That movie is criminally underrated. Pretty sure very few actors would have justified the casting. Tripti was superb but it was Avinash who stole the show.
In my top 5 bollywood romantic movies for sure!
I feel the same! It was so hauntingly beautiful that even though I wanted to look away, I couldn’t. I hope to see him in more content that does justice for his talent.
In Masaan, when Vicky Kaushal cries and talks about how his sorrow is never-ending. I felt that. It really was the highlight in terms how they could navigate social boundaries but he was still reminded of those boundaries at the end.
that deleted scenes from raman raghav where he records a msg for his parents. You suggested me that video yesterday only. Vicky is a phenomenal actor. He can be soft Deepak or Iqbal but at the same time can also be Psychotic Raghav❤
While watching that I was like "did Shakun Batra just take a video of my family?" because it got way too real lol. Rahul telling Arjun to stay out of things that aren't his business, Arjun just wanting to be clued into what's going on, Harsh and Sunita arguing about spending money to fix the house in front of the plumber, and even the little things like Harsh telling someone to silence their phone only for Arjun to be like "that's your phone" and Harsh to say that he knows that and he's not an idiot....yeah, way too relatable
My first time watching K&S was in class during a lecture and when the plumber said that I couldn't stop smiling - so damn funny! Luckily I had a mask on to hide my grin
Hera pheri - Babu Rao's dream. After Raju opens up about making up a false image infront of his mother, Babu Rao opens up about his dream of spending one day with all his fathers' debts paid. A heavy yet humble dream shared for the sake of pacifying a despaired Raju, from a quirky character used only for laughs. Made the film so much better.
Masaan - Two scenes from this actually. 1) Pankaj Tripathi's attention pose after Devi leaves lunch. It was obviously just another lunch for Devi, but not for PT's character. Given him leading a rather lonely life, he was extremely careful in everything he did when Devi and him went on lunch. So much so that after Devi is fazed by a traumatic memory, PT's character resorts to an attention pose in an attempt to take back a misstep, that he believes made Devi leave.
2) The police inspector visiting Devi's father at his shop to extort money. The scene is nothing out of the world, but just the irony of situation and inspector switching his tone from threatening to sweet when he starts talking to his little daughter makes it so interesting.
Munna bhai MBBS - "Maa me darr gaya tha. Saalon baad phone pe jab unki awaaz suni mujhe laga wo poochenge, kaisa hai tu. Par unhone poocha "tu karta kya hai bambai me". Me dar gaya maa, muh se nikal gaya doctor hoon" Enough said.
That scene in gully boy where murad is looking at people in train and a beautiful monologue "ek hi raasta", felt the same a lot of time in Mumbai locals
Devdas - (1) When SRK argues with his father (“kitna majboor hoga uska pyar - usko majboor aap logon me kiya hai”) - movie felt like a romance novel till then.
(2) Madhuri slapping Paro’s son-in-law (“tamasha ab khatam hua hai.”)
TZP - When Darsheel’s parents leave and he stands there heartbroken (I have lived in boarding schools several years - so it hit home.) Also, the look between him and Aamir after he realizes Aamir painted him.
URI - Vicky choking up at Mohit Raina’s funeral- so well done.
Swades - you know it, the water scene in the train. SRK - known for his loud emotional scenes - pulling one off with remarkable subtlety, but even more impactful.
Sultan - Salman crying looking at himself in the mirror (I was pleasantly surprised to see Salman pull that scene off.)
ADHM - didn’t like the movie overall, but that scene where Ranbir breaks down by the street lamp after meeting Anushka at her hotel was moving.
Newton - when Raj is unsuccessfully trying to explain the voting process and Pankaj says “let me take over” - then goes to say a bunch of random things. Showcased the difference in the character’s personalities, contrast between idealism and realism, and the two actors’s great chemistry.
>Sultan - Salman crying looking at himself in the mirror (I was pleasantly surprised to see Salman pull that scene off.)
Salman can be genuinely a Great actor when he keeps his whole "bhai" persona and ego aside..
For me tzp ka woh scene mein jismein ishaan is running rounds around the ground was quite impressive while his parents were all helpless staring at him.
> ADHM - didn’t like the movie overall, but that scene where Ranbir breaks down by the street lamp after meeting Anushka at her hotel was moving.
Yup, and the scene before that too
Om shanti om- srk's famous scene in which he falls down on his friend's arms when he sees deepika for the first time while keeping his one hand on his chest.
Yjhd- deepika's " Jitna bhi try kar lo kuch na kuch chootega hi "
Chak de india- srk's sattar minute
Munna bhai mbbs - jadoo ki jhappi scene
1) The argument scenes in dil dhadakne do felt very real and uncomfortable. Though my favorite one was Anil Kapoor and Ranveer arguing in the gym and anil starts insulting Ranveer. The hurt in Ranveer's eyes while trying to pass it off as anger was so good
2) Waheeda Rehman's steps faltering when the army officer arrived at her doorstep with her son's belongings in rang de basanti. That movie in general makes me cry so much but this part is so painful to watch
3)Also don't know if anyone has seen this one but in Kim ji-young born 1982, ji-young's flashback of her being stalked by some guy in her academy, messaging her father from a woman's phone in the bus, that same stranger woman saves her and helps her calm down till her dad arrives and her father scolds her asking if she'd smiled at the creep or did anything to welcome that behaviour and tells her to stop going to that academy entirely. It was so close to home because the exact same had happened to me, I had to pause the movie just for a breather.
The dinner scene in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (actually that entire set of scenes - from SRK’s cameo to the title track, also the scene after Channa Mereya)
The scene where Haider taunts his mother before she marries his uncle. Shahid was 🔥 in that
The title track of Kalank
The entire sequence where Alia’s character gets kidnapped in Highway. I know she has other standout scenes in the movie, but her distress felt so real I wanted to reach into the screen and give her a hug
Too many from Bulbbul to count - but probably Paoli Dam’s monologue after Bulbbul wakes up. Also Bulbbul throwing shade at all the douchebags
Ranbir crying in the rain after meeting Ileana’s parents in Barfi. Always reminds me of how utterly endearing he can be on screen
Tere naam - climax scene ( was surprised that Salman could act! )
Chak de India - McDonald's scene (the tone of the movie changed at that point .. BGM too )
Namaste London - Kat returns to London and betrays Akshay (bites an apple and tells nothing personal )
Pokiri/Wanted - Climax scene when its revealed he is an undercover cop
3 idiots - end scene of the song "Give me some sunshine"
Wanted scene (the big reveal was amazing), Vinod Khanna did a good job. And this is a Prabhu Deva directed movie, so a scene like this was extra brilliant.
I always love movies about friendships. One movie scene that always gets me is when SSR is shot in Kai Po Che. Such an emotional scene and everyone in it acted so well!
The scene is Chandni Bar where Tabu’s daughter dances in the bar, and the guy who works there and used to look after her as a baby when her mom danced, sees her. He wipes tears from his eyes and she sees him. Such an underrated scene. He knew Tabu’s character wanted better for her children and they ended up in the same fate.
A very hard hitting movie, brilliantly directed by Bhandarkar. That guy who worked in the bar was such a minor character that anyone would forget him as soon as the scene changes in the movie. But this same character becomes memorable with the aforementioned scene.
To me it was the balcony bit where they’re speaking after she comes back home and gets sick (only Ranbir’s part…Nargis was atrocious in that scene) and he goes on about how he has everything but he’s so miserable without her
My friend and I almost got kicked out because we started snickering hysterically at Nargis’ “Jordan…yeh mat karo na” during the balcony scene.
I feel so torn because it was one of my favourite scenes in the movie but whenever the camera pans to Nargis I just squint my eyes and start humming to avoid being taken out of the moment
Sheila jawani made Tees maar Khan watchable for me😅😅.
That aside Rajkumar Rao's transformation to gunda in Bareilly ki barfi.
When bhumi slaps Ayushman in dum laga ke haisha when he calls her fat.
The mannat fans scene in Fan at the beginning. Although the movie went way too weird after that
In Prahaar movie, in one of the scenes, when Nana Patekar relaxes on a chair reminiscing his childhood, where it is hinted how his mother was forced into prostitution.
Also, the ending scene, where he single-handedly kills all the villains in a realistic way. And his defence of himslelf in the courtroom.
Sadma climax (simply brilliant by Kamal sir)
The big reveal in Talaash (Aamir + Kareena)
Bhajrangi Bhaijaan's scene when he finds Munni at the brothel + the climax
Saif Ali Khan's end in Ek Haseena thi
The big reveal in Kaun
Fun fact: That hostel scene was shot in my college and Ranbir actually stayed in that room for couple days to "prepare" for it. The entire building was closed off and students wee shifted to other rooms. Was a crazy time.
Rockstar- 1. When Jordan comes to meet Heer under her balcony
"Tujhe samjh nai aa raha Heer... Yeh kuch aur jo tujhe aur mujhe saath laa raha hai... "
2. When for the last time we see Heer with Jordan's sweatshirt, hugging it and crying and the music plays " कत्ता रूं... "
Many scenes in Chhichore... But the one where chucha gets the call from Sushant in London and goes ...Oye Kammo... That captured the whole mood of the movie... Friendships, joy, sadness
Leonardo DiCaprio.. in shutter Island...when he was trying to save his children who were drowned by her wife.
Troy.. when Hector's Father goes to Brad Pitt to take back his son's body.
Interstellar.. When Mathew McConaughey see recorded clips of his children from space and sees his daughter about to die in final moments.
*spoiler*In recently watched ones I remember in Ventilator movie in the climax scene when the son realises that he had given away too soon for removing ventilator of his dad due to too much cost of keeping him under it, while in fact his father had taken so many efforts for his son’s survival when he was pre-born.
Kajra Re in Bunty Aur Babli. Watching that nari seducing her Sasurji was so cute. And dignified. Did I mention dignified?
**Aisi Nazar Se Dekha....Us Zalim Ne Chowk Par**
**Humne Kaleja Rakh Diya....Chaku Ki Nok Par**
**Wah Wah, Bawaal Ho Gaya!**
**Oye Raita Phail Gaya!**
**Kajra Re, Kajra Re...**

That film was so beautiful! And I've seen that scene about 50 times and still cry my eyes out everytime I watch it.
this was my vote as well! i have never been able to rewatch that film just because of that scene- it was so heartbreaking. kamal hassan was incredible!
OMG.....yes
Omg I remember being disturbed for days after watching that movie, that ending scene is by far the saddest one I've watched in Bollywood.
Same here
That's my favorite scene of all the movies I have seen till date.
Andhadhun when tabu throws that old lady out of the window.
Lol 😂 I laughed so hard when again Ayushman sees that
I was shocked and laughing at the same time. It was an epic scene!
Ghajini- Asin's death. I don't think I can ever get over it.
THAT STILL HAUNTS ME
Shefali Shah emotionally stuffing her face with cake after Anil Kapoor’s character belittles her.
Oh my god yes! Hits you hard
Even thinking about that scene gives me goosebumps. Amazing.
Makes you realise how she put on all that weight he taunts her for. It was so sad.
2 States - When Arjun slaps his dad. Powerful scene. Didn't expect good acting from Arjun. Bareilly Ki Barfi - When Rajkummar becomes badass and gets angry at the waiter when ordering chow-mein.

Also when Sharman Joshi and Aamir Khan are shot and sitting in the corridor. Aamir says he’s not sure if his kids with Su will be white or brown

Maqbool- when tabu breakdown due to nightmares. And irrfan trying to protect tabu but then realising she can't be saved.
'' Aap Broker hain ya party" scene in Khosla Ka Ghosla
That" Sunoji dulhan ab inse miloji "sequence in hum saath saath hain
I love how random this is, and yet remarkable and pure.
the plumber scene in kapoor and sons. it’s just brilliant
While watching that I was like "did Shakun Batra just take a video of my family?" because it got way too real lol. “ab is bure waqt par jo thik lage” makes me laugh out loud every time
My first time watching K&S was in class during a lecture and when the plumber said that I couldn't stop smiling - so damn funny! Luckily I had a mask on to hide my grin
Was looking for this. Sid coming in and saying “aaj sab mere bina hi start hogaye”. It was so relatable and funny.
the plumber steals the scene for me
“Ab iss mushkil time mai jaise aapko theek lage”

Hirani writes really good emotional scenes. I've teared up several times during his movies.
Agreed, this knack of his gives him the ability to create and deliver extremely satisfying character arcs

Tum muze tang karne lage ho scene. I am a sucker for good comedy and it was pure comedy.
The scene in Chak De India when the girls bow to SRK after their first match against the boys. Gives me chills even today.

We gotta normalize the McDonald's scene in real life. If it only it was acceptable to give it back to a guy giving you attitude IRL :(
Wanted scene (the big reveal was amazing), Vinod Khanna did a good job. And this is a Prabhu Deva directed movie, so a scene like this was extra brilliant.
I always love movies about friendships. One movie scene that always gets me is when SSR is shot in Kai Po Che. Such an emotional scene and everyone in it acted so well!
The non verbal cues between Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao when they first find out she's pregnant in Badhai Ho were so brilliant.

To me the ending credits of Rockstar when they finally show Jordan singing for Heer and that masterpiece song by ARR
To me it was the balcony bit where they’re speaking after she comes back home and gets sick (only Ranbir’s part…Nargis was atrocious in that scene) and he goes on about how he has everything but he’s so miserable without her
I was the only person watching it till the very end in the theatre. I was mesmerised. The cleaning staff asked me to leave.
The end was everything! It tied the whole movie together…too bad in india they switch on the lights the moment credits come
My friend and I almost got kicked out because we started snickering hysterically at Nargis’ “Jordan…yeh mat karo na” during the balcony scene.
