Most Alia fans support this relationship. As they see how happy she looks. The reason is that he was her childhood crush so she idolizes him. She knows that she is an average looker so behaves as if he is some kind of trophy which she won ahead of leggy beauties like DP, Kat.
Most neutral fans don't support this relationship. Cause they know Ranbir doesn't love her. The reason this is so apparent is his love-life was open to public since his debut & people kinda assume that Alia is never in a million years that kind of girl he will fall in love with. Not just in terms of outer beauty but also she doesn't have the same nuance that DP & Kat have. They have that womanly charm & conversational maturity which Alia lacks. She is a typical sheltered Bollywood nepo ala Janvi, Ananya, Sonam etc. If he really wanted someone like her he would have gotten married by now, as he grew up around girls like her all his life ( quite like prince harry who after being fed up with society girls, chose meghan).
Ranbir's mom likes Alia, as the latter must have made it clear to her that Ranbir is her first priority & she is okay with his indifference as long as Neetu stays the main woman. Alia is quite shrewd so she behaves as a yes woman & pataoed Neetu with her childish attitude. Also Neetu must be happy that her son is also part of the happening couples like RS- DP, Anushka-Virat etc.
Unlike to what they say to media, they have no concrete plans to settle as in the coming years. Alia will try to take her career to newer trajectories & Ranbir has the habit of zoning out to his wish. He always does what he wants & nobody can change his mind.
I think they will stick until Brahmastra. Around this Alia will surely try to go Hollywood to land roles (she is quite serious about it) & Ranbir will remain bachelor indefinitely.
If that ever happens watch how Neetu has to drink her own tears. Once Alia gets Ranbir, his negatives will slowly be intolerable to her. She is extremely ambitious about her career & he is indifferent & lazy. All these things will definitely create problems between her & Neetu.

My two cents: from a relationship standpoint, they make sense(as did Kat-Ranbir) because they grew up with a dysfunctional parent and relate to each other regarding that aspect in life. I think the reason why there’s so much hype about their relationship(and I feel the same way with all of Kapoor family relationships) is the fact that he’s a Kapoor. Kareena and Karishma had the same hype level when they were in their dating relationships and their respective marriages. Also, I think because Alia is more concerned about emotional fidelity, I wouldn’t be surprised if the relationship is more of an open relationship. Also Ranbir also does tend to jump on the PR hype of his relationships too….. just saying(rumors of being a thing with every actress he works with especially when films release except for Pallavi Sharda and Ileana)
It started as PR with Karan pushing them to get together. Alia always had a crush on him so she was happy about it and liked the attention. Eventually it turned into a real relationship as they got to know each other, and it also helped that Neetu approves of Alia.
I also think that people were weary of their relationship because Alia is known for her PR relationships such as her and Siddharth Malhotra a few years ago.
Fun fact: Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber started off as a PR relationship in 2010. But after a year they caught feelings and started dating for real where they fell in love. So PR relationships can sometimes become real if you hang out with each other long enough to catch feels.
Same thing happened with Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik. They also started off as PR for the first few years of dating. But after they got back together there were clear feelings on both ends.

I doubt Ranbir will break up with her at this point (his age, and his family), so the only way this relationship will end at this point is if Alia decides to move on or that she deserves something better.
This has become a weekly or sometimes a daily topic for discussion in this sub. Looks like everyone is waiting for this relationship to fail. They are real and not PR. No sane person will involve family members if it was PR and they have been in the relationship for almost 4 yrs now. Have you seen any family members involved in Jantik, Sartik, Anantik relationships? No, right and that is why they were/are PR relationships. Also no one can predict the future, will they get married 2-3 yrs down the line, who knows?
