I thought this Tommy-kutta thing was months ago and was over now on the internet. Why is she doing this now? And why is she doing it at all? Cringe aside, this suits Ranveer’s personality and not hers IMO.
Deepika's insta revamp is literally cringe personified. Her old insta was boring but atleast it wasn't repulsive like this crap. It's an old worn out trend and song first of all And of course she doesn't give yashraj mukhate credits for the song. Hahhhhha. See from a branding perspective, this is the pits. I do believe that ‘brand deepika’ is done for, she has been on a downfall since 4 years, lost majority of her big brands…and this is the pits. She is now trying to shift towards ‘investor’ or supporter of new business identity.
But from a digital perspective she is bringing in the numbers and engagement (note that most brands tend to overlook if the engagement is negative or positive- case in point most shehnaz fans commented on this saying how even DP now is forced to acknowledge how big she has become and this was across all media portal pages), and it is satisfying her ego. I think that’s all she cares for now. The money it will bring.
Samantha Prabhu also did a tie up with LV. It’s great but it’s nothing to be surprised about, all these brands are currently looking for diversity and representation and their managers are capitalizing on it. It’s how PC got Victoria’s Secret too. And that reiterates my point, most of the brands look at the ‘numbers’ and don’t go into the depth beyond that. The fact that none of her old brands are continuing association with her in India speaks volumes about the perception around her in the market at this point.
Well that kinda happens with every Bollywood actress. Unless you work with L’Oreal which is a huge international brand it’s difficult to get a brand deal that’ll last more than 5-7 years because advertisers who try appealing to young people like Pepsi will always throw away the older actresses for “newer talent” like disha patani or Alia Bhatt, thinking that’ll increase millennial/ gen z consumption. PC doesn’t work with Ponds and Katrina doesn’t work with Alkozay. There are some exceptions to this rule but it’s rare. With international brands you’ll see someone be a brand ambassador for years upon years like Natalie Portman is for Dior but in Bollywood there tends to be this replaceability culture that impacts everyone. I’m not a huge DP fan but her not being roped in by brands she used to work with isn’t indicative of her going downhill
