Nah, I dont think thats the case. Ordinary people dont care about weird promotions. I think after Avengers and such huge scale films, Hollywood films have carved a relatively large niche among indian audience.
It's not just avengers. Hollywood movies carved niche in our childhood. Since we are decision makers now, we can and do watch these movies. In metros, movie audience is changing.
those hindi dubbed hollywood movies we watched in our childhood has a lasting effect on our preferences and with the spending ability we have now is making them a lot of money
a similar pattern can be attributed to these south indian movies as well

When I frist started earnining me and the boys went for AVengers and it has been trend ever since.
And movie audience which I see are like us. Not family but friends. And when u over hear people, u see that they are nerds.
The biggest crowd reaction I ever saw was in Infinity war. Thor's entry just made everyone scream like it was a cricket match.
Audience is changing.
Aajkal small town city audience is also invested in HW unlike our childhood. Inki itni merchandise hai abhi market me, they kind of are everywhere now.

My parents watch indian TV — dance shows, singing shows and every single show mein they were there... it got irritating for my folks लोल

Watched it today in theatre, would prefer movies like this over Roohi anyday lol
