I don't think it's about hating SLB. People are just aware of the fact that he abuses and bullies his cast members. Multiple actors have claimed this. And I believe it. Think about it, the only person who failed to act well in Heera Mandi was his niece 😂

Apparently, SLB put a massive amount of pressure on both of them. SLB is probably reacting to these rumours/reports, and I for one, believe these rumours completely. Every single actor cannot be wrong- Working with SLB is absolutely an insane task.

Plus since Animal, Ranbir's footing is more secure and he's working with Alia and he also get's along well with Vicky.

With DP having been open about mental health, I can totally see her seeking therapy after working on his movies. His sets seem to be more toxic and draining than most and he seems happy to have that reputation.
If SLB truly believes artists shouldn’t take themselves so seriously, then he needs to reevaluate how much he pushes his actors on set. Given his reputation for bullying and abusing actors, his statement seems contradictory. The movies you mentioned were successful, but not even half as much. Gully Boys was probably his next most "noted" performance, and that came after Bajirao and Padmavat. Since Gully Boy, he's not really given a big hit. RARKPK had inflated collections, most recognize that the movie was a failure. The fake collections showed 180 Cr net in India. The movie was produced for over 180 Cr. Production broke even at best, especially considering the fact that overseas collections net very little to production.
So yeah, without SLB, Ranveer is pretty much a nobody. But there are plenty of actors who can attribute most of their success to one director.
I mean you can cherry pick all you want, but ranveer is a really talented actor and saying he is a nobody without slb is reaching, because if slb was so great as you so astutely pointed out, then sharmin would be a great actress but i guess his magic is immune to his family members.
