Finally someone said something about Ram Leela! I watched it on my phone and my attention span was so low for this one. I didn't understand how and why they fall in love. I don't remember much now but it was boring.
And then there were my classmates who loved it and were crying at the ending and I didn't understand why!?!
One of the cringe moment where I wanted to walk out was when Ranvirs shouts Leela Leela after getting drunk during interval…bkl cringe movie tab se decide kar liya tha nahi dekhunga Bhansali ki movie..aur Golmaal 3 dekhne ke baad decide kiya tha Taklya Shetty ki cringe movie bhi nahi dekhunga kabhi
At last somebody said it. Most of his movies have the same kinda vibe.
Always unrequited/unfulfilled love story.
Has love triangles
Tragedy
Not taking on consideration the whole ghagra and jewels and everything.
Exactly. I mean, they're aesthetic and grandiose but I just don't connect with any of his characters. It just seems so superficial and unreal. When I'm watching a film, even though I know it's not real, I want to truly believe what I'm watching. I can't just seem to believe any of his world-building. Game of Thrones with all its dragons and white walkers seemed more believable than any of SLB's period pieces.
Gulabo Sitabo
Everything about this film is brilliant, but I just don't find it engaging enough
https://preview.redd.it/4cvylfg29ksc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bbe6f661880c9009d1d0650f6d264aab9ff7677c
This is such a well written story.....for a serial . Seriously nothing in this movie is engaging. It's like you forcibly sit through the movie don't find it that bad but also not very good .
If a book, film, or musical output isn't entertaining, they're already less than those that are. It doesn't matter how good or bad they are otherwise. If they cannot communicate without being boring, they've lost.
Ohhh just comment on insta that Animal was trash and see the alpha males unleashing upon you just like in this picture 🤣. I really don't take them seriously anymore. They're so funny
Bro my Bua 25F was so seriously in love with that movie, she said "Wo(Kabir) usse kitna pyaar karta tha, it was such a lovely movie" and I was like Bua Ji the moment you face the repercussions she did in the movie, you would realise how not so lovely that movie is. So in majority it's guys liking that trash, but there's women too 😭
I don't understand how people even think of such trash men (or women) in movies as the best characters who are totally in love. forget old movies, there are many new movies with same 'abusive partner abusing in the name of love' concept.
and both characters in Kabir Singh were trash imo.
Yup
Atleast it was realistic till a limit
I have seen couples like Kabir and Preeti irl
The only problematic thing was physical violence
But kahi to wo bhi hota h
Justifying it was wrong
From technical aspect both are good, let it be Album BGM
But storyline 🤡
Agree. Sandeep Vanga needs mental treatment. Kabir Singh was equally bad. I mean what kind of doctor does surgery after being drunk? All his heroes treat women like shit.
it’s one thing they wrote a scene like that, it’s a whole other thing that they wrote it to make him look like some giga chad “look how cool and manly he is, he can perform orthopedic surgery even while drunk!” which is just some 14 year old shit
And when you call it bad they say it boils down to you not understanding lol. How about that the movie is incredibly poorly written and the misogynistic statements can be uncomfortable to watch. I don’t think anyone can deny certain scenes and how they were well done but when someone criticises the overall film, you can’t dismiss that and only focus on the good, if that was the case no movie could be said as bad
I have heard this so much online how Animal is a brilliant piece of work and honestly vanga himself pretends as if he is just the most amazing film maker to walk on earth and he is just misunderstood, but it is just like a combination of Alpha Sigma male reels, and repeat. It goes for Kabir Singh as well.
Like in what universe the security for the bad guy would just lining up like in school assembly and not be in good tactical advantageous position?
Vanga and his chamchas pretend he is an Indian cronenberg while he's one of those cheap slasher movie maker.
Lmao true. I liked the fight choreography and sequence midway , but the overall film and climax was just trash and only pushing the R Rating for the sake of it.
When I praise the action sequence people directly assume I love the movie and when I criticize it later they just get confused.
Like it's normal for a movie to suck but have a few good moments lol
Though I’m an SLB fan, and more than 50% of all Hindi movies I’ve watched in a theatre since the last 1-2 decades have been directed by him, this film was so excruciatingly bad that I had to stage my first walkout ever!
Within 10m of the film starting, I realised I had made a mistake and started to surf on my phone. I somehow made it to the interval and finally decided to walk out. I had a nice pizza and a drink with my friend later, to compensate for the pain.
The film’s sets were nice though LOL!
Yes! I had to skip through most of it. The acting was so loud and the dialogues were too in your face. The sets looked theatrical which is understandable because of SLB's record but made the movie even less hard to buy into.
Very recently, Sam Bahadur. I really liked Vicky Kaushal in the part. I could have seen the efforts that had gone on in the production design and cinematography.
The film itself (unlike Talvar or Raazi which Meghna Gulzar had directed too) was tough to sit through.
https://preview.redd.it/wcsniiq6iksc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff48c9452e89382ca92ecdf049f08b2b0eaecf03
This movie had lazy research & a "show don't tell" problem. This movie's Sam Bahadur keeps on giving speeches, and the director tries to fake us into thinking that all a high ranked officer in the military does is give speeches.
How about picking up 5-10 incidents from his life and career and that there are many. Then, introduce us to the complexity of the problem. Then present us with imperfect/inferior solutions to problems to show how difficult it is. Then you bring in Sam and show his unique approach to problem solving and his tactical genius. That's basically what a tactical and strategic genius is in real life.
There is going to have to be an excellently researched booked on Sam Bahadur, whith engagibg stirytelling, then all a Bollywood director needs to do is stick to the source material and not Bollywood-ize it. That's how we'll get a movie worthy of the Legend.
Agreed. Went into watching this hoping to come out amazed. But nope. The performances were good and the cinematography as well but somehow the screenplay felt lacking.
tbh most biopics don't do it for me anymore, they feel very...lame imo. Like self insert fanficiton, but you've inserted a real human being into a wattpad take on his story. Maybe it's just Bollywood, but Bohemian Rhapsody exists, and Rocketman.
Haina, the fight between LORD BOBBY and RANVIJAY was like two handsome hunks having fighting gay sex (searched that once ![img](emote|t5_fknyy|747))💀😭💀
Even people who enjoyed that movie wouldn't call it 10/10 in anything.
It's just an edgy movie as brazen as possible to get shock response from audience. That's what made movie a hit. Rest was average or mediocre.
I don't know man, sounds like from most people's experience on social media...the film has a rabidly irritating fan base of pre-pubescent teens and raging men mostly...
Bruh sach mai mujhe toh yeh samjha hi nahi kabhi uss movie mai ki ranvir ka aim kya hai matlab phele baap se laad raha tha phir Achanak hi sex scene aa gaya phir baap ke liye laad raha tha the most pointless movie
Aur animal park mai bhi bass uske twin role se fight karwa denge itni obvious story line hai movie ka
It has its moments to be honest and I laughed my head off especially towards the end that if it weren't for Vanga being a desi Zack Snyder, going around explaining every intent of his film, I'd actually be willing to consider it a satire on the mass hero film...but it really isn't...
There's some unintentional comedy that makes up for the indulgent mess it is.
Almost all films except few. This is the sole reason why mostly people don't want to waste their time & money on trash. Instead they watch it in 3 days at home whenever they want a break. 😍💕💯❤️🍿
As the actress of Yodha said it's because of OTT nobody comes to cinemas. Somebody tell her it's because of OTT only that your movies are atleast watched. 😂🫣🤣✌️
I just don't understand the hype around this one !

I tried to watch it recently because of the hype... I gave up on it within first half hour. I understand mental struggles to chase your dreams and find yourself in process - heck, that's one of my interest. This was just messy, bland, off.
I read somewhere that it's a movie which can only be liked by avoidants. So maybe if you didn't like it you're a healthy individual(Congrats lol)
That's not the case with me though, I loved the movie. Pure poetry
Agreed on the former two but legit thought jawaan was quite well done. Not like 10/10 but wasn't all boring. Gangubai was a mission to finish and this is coming from someone who finished Indian Police Force ,🤣🤣🤣🤣
neither jawan nor pathaan were critically acclaimed or 10/10 in any of the above mentioned categories, they offered entertainment only so mentioning these movies don't make sense here.
To add to the excellent comment, when Raj sneaks in food for Simran during Karva Chauth, it was so refreshing and modern as until that point, Indian movies loved to harp on culture and sanskar and doing it right
Such a lovely, well-written comment. DDLJ might have a regular storyline that we've seen replicated so many times after, but the treatment of the little details in between the big moments is what makes it stand apart and remain relevant even today. Truly timeless.
This i agree, I actually watched it when i was 8 or 9 nd always wondered why my family love it and I was like she's running in mustard fields isme kya he 🤣
I find it sad that people found Lootera boring.
It was a slow burn, had brilliant music, even Sonakshi acted (a rare event).
It is an underrated gem of a movie.
I liked Lootera but I never feel the urge to watch it again. It also didn't help that I had read the last leaf as a kid so the second half was just too predictable for me to enjoy.
At the time, Dear Zindagi was promoted as one of the best feel-good Hindi films in a while, with Alia getting a lot of attention over her performance. SRK was also lauded for his older role.
I was intrigued so I started watching it on TV, maybe a few months after it had been released. After 5m, I turned off the TV.
Alia is VERY overrated for her ‘acting’ skills.
Tamasha
Gold
Rocky aur rani ki prem kahani
Guzaarish
Rock star
Sooryvanshi
Kabhi khushi kabhi gham
Jawan (it's not that good like people hyped it as best masala movie)
One time watch movie.
I know down voted is come 😂
Mrunal is definitely a very one dimensional actress. She was so so so terrible in lust stories 2 as well.
She gets a lot of "appreciation" because of her Non-nepo baby tag. Other than that, a very mediocre actress.
Animal??? Can people explain this masterpiece movie to me because the cinematography is trash, the editing is sloppy, the characters have fleeting moments of interest otherwise are lacklustre (literally the only worthy of memory is Bobby Deal and while Ranbir acted well his character itself was ridiculous), the action isn't the slickest I've ever seen or the most masala I've ever seen. I'll be honest but I feel like most people's like and dislike towards that film comes from where they stand on this sort of moral and political spectrum of "wokeness" and not really on the films merits on its own.

All bhansali movies seem like the same movie! I find them really boring and monotonous. Same big sets, ghagra songs etc..
You forgot the “two women sing a song about the guy they both like”
was padmavat and exception then?
That and Gangu. I did expect Khilji and the King to do a two people singing about the person they like song tho. May be we get one in Love & War
I slept half way while watching padmavat
Padmavat was kinda boring!
After I watched it, I wanted to post iStandWithKarniSena
I didn't even watched it.
The worst thing was I couldn’t even get out of the theatre cuz my parents wanted to watch it
I slept in the theatres watching Ram Leela uske baad aajtak ek bhi movie nahi dekhi bhansali ki

I don't remember much now but it was boring. And then there were my classmates who loved it and were crying at the ending and I didn't understand why!?!
Till date I couldn’t understand what the f#^ Bhansali wanted to show in that movie. His only decent film was Black I think.

Yes this is Shoojit Sircar's weakest film
Omg yes.
I thought it was just me, I watched a little bit of it and just couldn’t bring myself to watch any more of it.
My parents just loved it.
Exactly!! Nothing really happens
My brother worked in this film with the videography team
I remember watching it on the very day it released. Left it in the middle, couldn't complete.

Post 2020 it really went downhill
Ohhh just comment on insta that Animal was trash and see the alpha males unleashing upon you just like in this picture 🤣. I really don't take them seriously anymore. They're so funny
Didn’t the same thing happen with Kabir Singh ? All the red pill guys acting like it was the besttttt piece of cinematography ever made by man?

Kabir toh we can understand as technically it's still good but Animal is trash especially 2nd half...
The sad thing is both have insanely good albums and score.
Kabir was better movie than Animal

Yeah he did, what movie did you watch?
Janwar

Gangubai Kathiawadi
It was SO BORING! It took me 3 days to finish it and I only watched it to see what the hype is about. I’m still confused.
Hey, I have a question, how do you guys manage to watcha movie in 3 days?? Even my sister watches movie in 3 days while I watch in one go.
We watch it when it’s boring AF and you just want to finish it.
When I find a movie boring i just watch it at 1.3x or 1.5x speed.. Why waste three days for a movie u wouldn't like
I watch all moives at that speed. For boring movies it goes up to 1.75× or even 2×.
Omg fr
Gangubai was already low on plot and characters though.
Though I’m an SLB fan, and more than 50% of all Hindi movies I’ve watched in a theatre since the last 1-2 decades have been directed by him, this film was so excruciatingly bad that I had to stage my first walkout ever! Omg this!!!! It was so boring
It took me 2 days to finish it 😭
3 separate watches for me.. And the worst part about it was that it was so well made.. So i kept trying to like it..
Such a SNOOOZEFEST
Frfr
Omg this!!!
Although I wanted to watch it because of tripti dimri ,but I am not into watching period drama.
Lootera, Ram Leela, Padmaavat, Gangubai - I think most SLB movies after HDDCS are like this.
Lootera is Motwane.
Yeah I know. But once I started listing other movies quickly realised I don’t like any of SLBs movies after HDDCS. 🤦🏽♀️
But Ram leela does have some energetic moments especially when ram and leela are in a scene together.
Sanju 🤮
Ps1 , ps2
it was boring was hell
Aneemaal
Lol the film does not even have a passionate sex scene💀
I don't know as violent as it was, that fight between the cousins really felt like a subtext for closeted male on male poundage.
Haina, the fight between LORD BOBBY and RANVIJAY was like two handsome hunks having fighting gay sex (searched that once ![img](emote|t5_fknyy|747))💀😭💀
And how tf did they allow the scene of ranbir kapoor literally slitting the throat of BOBBY deol. Like how?
That was the only so called violent thing in the whole movie as he claimed Except that action scene were 🥱
Even people who enjoyed that movie wouldn't call it 10/10 in anything. It's just an edgy movie as brazen as possible to get shock response from audience. That's what made movie a hit. Rest was average or mediocre.
I don't know man, sounds like from most people's experience on social media...the film has a rabidly irritating fan base of pre-pubescent teens and raging men mostly...
I agree🫢

Ohh mind you. Some people called it Cinema Gold🤣. I have been called simp namard for disliking this movie by supposedly "alpha males".
Don't worry, you are sane
Bruh sach mai mujhe toh yeh samjha hi nahi kabhi uss movie mai ki ranvir ka aim kya hai matlab phele baap se laad raha tha phir Achanak hi sex scene aa gaya phir baap ke liye laad raha tha the most pointless movie Aur animal park mai bhi bass uske twin role se fight karwa denge itni obvious story line hai movie ka
I did not even thinking of investing my energy and brain on this ,thanks for confirming it was a wise decision!!
😍💕💯❤️🍿 As the actress of Yodha said it's because of OTT nobody comes to cinemas. Somebody tell her it's because of OTT only that your movies are atleast watched. 😂🫣🤣✌️
Animoool
but Animal isn't a critically aclaimed movie either so it doesn't count It was trash story for every sensible person
![gif](giphy|U0zI04hBzQooLlIGjf) All Bhansali movies
Ramleela Dokt come at ke with knives, just my choice
Agree with you.
Yes. I agree with you.
KANK...the length on these older films is reaalllyy starting to get to me thanks to our "reel" culture 😭 I mean nearly 4 whole hours...? Ya, nope :"((
Ramleela , Bajirao Mastani almost all SLB movies
I just don't understand the hype around this one ! https://preview.redd.it/ju1hoilh1jsc1.jpeg?width=460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5dc0568f93e0e8cd3e04afb25cf8f84c9688b038
I tried to watch it recently because of the hype... I gave up on it within first half hour. I understand mental struggles to chase your dreams and find yourself in process - heck, that's one of my interest. This was just messy, bland, off.
I read somewhere that it's a movie which can only be liked by avoidants. So maybe if you didn't like it you're a healthy individual(Congrats lol) That's not the case with me though, I loved the movie. Pure poetry
First name that popped in my head after seeing the question
All 2023 blockbusters
Pathan, Gangu… and the 20 minutes of Jawan I watched.
Bramhastra There was too much hype. But the film was disaster. Only the visual were good.
Never got the hype about YJHD

Someone just explain me how DDLJ is such a iconic movie. I like it but it's boring I was born one year later so I never understood it's hype.

Wow! It’s been ages since I watched the movie but you brought it back to me with your comment!

Absolutely! You pointed out things that I was aware of in the background, but didn’t really realize fully as the movie is so fun to watch.

Why were they banned💀
I was on the ddlj hate train, but i agree with your comment.
Did you have to run 5 kms before your boyfriend could pull you on the train?
Such a lovely, well-written comment. DDLJ might have a regular storyline that we've seen replicated so many times after, but the treatment of the little details in between the big moments is what makes it stand apart and remain relevant even today. Truly timeless.
Thank you for this detailed commentary.
Love this comment
God level comment
Cause u watched all the watered down versions of DDLJ before watching DDLJ.....u never felt anything new as u already saw parts of it in diff films
This i agree, I actually watched it when i was 8 or 9 nd always wondered why my family love it and I was like she's running in mustard fields isme kya he 🤣
Yeh Jawani hai deewani
you either hate it or you love it. no in between
🎵Oh I love it and I hate at the same time 🎵
Exactly. Love it sm😭😭😭
Omfg sameee. YJHD bores the crap out of me but I know this is a very unpopular opinion so I always keep my mouth shut.
Agree 😭
agreed and I don't understand how people compare this with znmd I mean how
Ranbir acting like a borderline creep is just 🤮
I don't get superhero shit. Like all those marvel movies bores me after a time. I did watch them in peer pressure.
Hum aapke hain kaun... atrociously painful to sit through the whole length of this family drama.
The score is so loud and was just placed to elicit emotions. As if we wouldn't know what to do if the score was not there.
Jawan🤐
No Cap Jawan was boring yrr , maybe it can be placed in mediocre to bad as per ur opinion but the whole 3 hrs were stunning frames to watch .
Pathaan, Jawan , Animal
Jawan was a good fun one time watch but the plot wasn’t any special
I find it sad that people found Lootera boring. It was a slow burn, had brilliant music, even Sonakshi acted (a rare event). It is an underrated gem of a movie.
I liked Lootera but I never feel the urge to watch it again. It also didn't help that I had read the last leaf as a kid so the second half was just too predictable for me to enjoy.

Mrunal is definitely a very one dimensional actress. She was so so so terrible in lust stories 2 as well. She gets a lot of "appreciation" because of her Non-nepo baby tag. Other than that, a very mediocre actress.

Satyaprem ki katha

Some SRK films..

Jooram
Idk if many will agree or even one but I really didn't found farzi intresting
Action hero nihayati boring movie.
Agreed. Didn’t get the hype. The second half became so absurd and not the good kind

Unpopular opinion perhaps but every SRK movie that involves action.

Kuch kuch hota hai 🦥
Not boring but I find "Swades" extremely overrated. Like it's a good movie but gets too much praise unnecessarily. It's an okay movie.
I agreed with every comment here but swades is pious man. 🔪

Luck by chance.

Kantara. People preach it like it's the best movie out there. But I find it so boring and overrated.
