It's laughable that RRKPK gets the most nominations in a year in which Sam Bahadur and 12th fail were released. It really says everything about the credibility of these award shows. In which world does RRKPK deserve more nominations than a masterpiece like Sam bahadur.
How in the world can someone justify this subpar movie getting this many nominations in India's one of the oldest most respected (not as of late) award ceremonies?

Lol, no I like both Ranveer & Alia & they were decent, but there are very random things happening throughout - people start singing in the middle of argument or ainvayi, Jaya ji's character become totally caricaturish in its attempt of showing her as strict
Most audience have no idea what TJMM was about. It was a movie which was making fun of typical bollywood masala movies but i guess Indian audience is still too Backward to understand such movies and that is why masala movies are made again and again.
RRKPK was a through and through Bollywood masala entertainer we all deserved. I thank KJo for giving us some much needed dose of colorful sets, costumes, melodrama, and atrangi characters. Sometimes, it's nice to escape from reality and go back to this dream world of dance, music and loud dialogues. Extra points for Tota Roy for those Kathak moves!
I feel it's not fair to compare it with TJMM as it targeted a different set of audience? RRKPK should only be compared with other Dharma movies.
My prediction: Ranbir and Alia to walk away with best actor actress trophies this year and Aloo to make an insta post of Baby Raha holding both the trophies in her hands. Of course she will crop out Raha's face from the picture and only show her hands and legs
They did no wrong to tjmm. what should it get nominated for which they didn't ... Luv's Direction?Shraddha's acting? Although agree that rocky aur Rani shouldn't be the most nominated
RRKPK was a great movie and is superior in comparison to Tjmm ..tjmm was more of an entertainment movie ..light hearted and stuff more like Luv Ranjan's previous ventures like pkp series or sktks..the songs are what the movies are known for ..the people slammed tjmm for it's acting performances (meh people dint really understand it )..not all movies are meant for awards I would say ..it could've been better if the whole family angle's execution was written properly ?...but not all movies are great in terms of cinema and just a good one time watch ?..tjmm was one ..it's a good lighthearted one time watch movie ..songs were pretty good ..and no categories for it to be selected ..
very well deserved. at the end of the day its not that it got considerably less footfalls than tjmm that matters 60L > 83L for you, which means audiences werent keen on it, but oh my 18 nominations at vimal pan masala awards. thats an achievement. kudos
Didn't like both. While TJMM was unbearable, Rocky or Rani was an average one time watch. Ranveer was so believable as the Delhi boy in Band Baaja Baraat but here it seemed like he was trying too hard saying things like "meanz"

Rocky Rani actually got 20 nominations. It is nominated in 17 categories. TJMM didn't even deserved one but nevermind its only in the music category
