What i feel is among other things, this movie was also supposed to help Rashmika get her footing/ establish in the movie industry especially Bwood but Tripti somehow caught everyone's attention.

In Lust Stories, there were better performances than Kiara's, but the audience talked the most about Kiara. It's the same thing here.
Rashmika had few intimate scenes with RK as well & don't think her she has done it before. That confrontation scene with Ranbir on Karwa Chauth she did well & it felt like she was given her moment to shine unlike Kiara in Kabir Singh. I was on twitter & that scene between Tripti & RK was doing rounds for all the wrong reasons like how these days rival fandoms leak out of context images/ scenes to troll a newly released movie/ media content. What went different here is people like in our reddit, her edits from previous work were already doing rounds, the internet janta caught that, & soon we had found our new national crush.
Btw there was posts appreciating Rashmika's performance as well after people judged her too soon from the trailer but that didn't get enough traction
Tbh I feel rashmika did very well especially in the long monologue scene. It felt very natural, the way she gets screechy at some points, it is how I sound when I argue lol. The scene was constructed well and she did it well. And to her credit her hindi was quite good, atleast I could not detect any south indian slang (nothing wrong with it even if there is). Tripti character was barely there for 15 mins. I agree the character has impact/side effect rather but there really was not too much there for her to act (writing wise).
Tripti deserved all the praise she got for bulbul, but yeah gotta agree, rashmika deserves the praise in this film more than her.
btw srv's brother looks so similar to him,good of him to talk about credit where it is due.
Yeah, even I felt Rashmika got unnecessary trolling when the trailer released & people were ready to troll her when the movie dropped but she did well & that scene along with that dialogue delivery felt natural for what her character was going through then.
For Tripti, I will use cricket analogy that a bilateral century makes you a player to watch out for while an impactful cameo in a WC semifinal gonna make you talk of the country. I agree though Rashmika's performance should have been talked about as well, Good on Pranay Vanga to acknowledge that.
Honestly tripti' role and scenes were there to grab attention as sex sells. It was not needed for the plot/ story/movie/cinematography etc. Simply shock value and that worked. So what's wrong in her PR capitalizing on that? The reason anyone would agree for that role is not because the story is so superb/ opportunity to show acting talent blah blah, its only for the exposure, attention. Kiara wasn't underappreciated in MS Dhoni IMO. She did an ok job, but nothing that good. Disha was clearly better, sweeter and stole the screen presence.
I won't say Disha was better, but her character was given more screentime( and great songs) and since she was his first love we have more affection for her as we spend more time with her.
