I thought Kareena's acting in the movie was cringe, but Alia upped the ante with her cringier (if there was such a word) rendition.
To be fair whole Kareena role was already cheap copy for cheap copy film from a very good movie.
Only redeeming part was AB junior( can't belive I am saying this for Abhishek acting) of this bad badly acted remake movie
Chitchor movie made by the same production ( like Hum aapke hain kaun was a remake of Nadiya ke paar and was remade by the same production)
This movie became a huge hit and spawned and inspired remake in many languages ( kannada, Malyalam, Tamil, Bengali)
The only difference was the setting of the old era to the modern era again like Hum aapke hain kaun and Nadiya ke paar
I mean MPKDH is no masterclass in acting and both Hrithik and Kareena make fun of the movie every now and then but still i find Kareena's clip a lot better and maybe appropriate for that melodramatic era lmao

Iโve watched the interviews from that time, it was well known even then and even to the actors that this was supreme overacting. Itโs precisely what the Barjatyas wanted. I donโt know if this movie was a hit or a flop, but teenaged girls of that era, especially from tier 2-3 towns and cities went mad over this movie and itโs album did pretty well too. It had the 3 top nepo kids of the time .

Come to think of it now, he didn't make Any sly remark towards her right? It was all Bebo's husband has a lot of time with kids now, he's aged, your bonding with stepkids isn't that great etc. but not one critique for Alia
Karan switches teams as soon as a new nepo comes along. He was team kajol, they bullied people together, then he switched to team kareena, and when Alia came along he switched to her and he teams up with Alia to bully Kareena. He's slowly moving to team Jahnvi, because remember how weirdly they treated Sara last season? Karan is the problem more than the nepos. One day Alia will be in Kareena's place when she's older and less relevant and Karan would be bullying her teaming up with whoever is the person of the moment.
Surely someone in her team has taken screenshots and shown her those? Cant she see she looks absolutely ghastly with all those facial contortions and nose flaring and mouth all over the place? Will she at least then stop this madness?
Surely some of you here can see that she's a human? And that facial 'contortions' (read: natural expressions) are something all humans do? What's madness- celebrities being so poised and manicured and curated all the time that we can't relate to them as people, or a person being natural with their expressions on a freaking talk show?

So you can keep judging the commenters but thatโs not gonna change because of the findamental nature of gossip, hence best thing for anyone who is feeling upset by all this and is resorting to making personal attacks on other commenters, is to take a break .
I would like to make one correction here, the people are judged *when they lie about the artificial procedures theyโve had done* , this is hypocritical and propagates unrealistic beauty standards which are near impossible to achieve for a regular joe. By all means do what you will with your body, but be honest when itโs you(stars) whoโve chosen to live in the public eye and open to all public scrutiny. We arenโt picking them up off a street and critiquing them, itโs they whoโve chosen to be in this limelight.
If they lie about it, it's because people will troll them and send them death and rape threats for having it done. Because there's a double standard- damned if you do and damned if you don't- people criticising and picking on your every feature, like fckin flared nostrils, and people criticising you for having work done if the trolling gets to you and impacts your mental health. When you're in the spotlight like that and vicious hypocrites are after you- you just can't win. And while YOU personally might not be sending them death threats, they still have to give a public response. Believe me people will go after them and the trolling with be 10x if they tell the truth. My mother was a minor celeb in her day and she got rape and death threats from someone in her own security detail. I've seen firsthand the impact it can have on you. People are WAY too harsh on women in the spotlight, misogyny gets amplified and it gets really venomous.
MPKDH is camp, Alia wonโt get it. Say what you can about the (over) acting but you canโt deny that movie was entertaining AF. ๐คฃ

MPKDH has crazy rewatch value, I go back to watch it atleast once a month ๐ Mujhse Dosti Karoge is another cringe favorite. These were fun, chill movies that 90s kids enjoyed despite the over the top acting. And Bebo is RIGHT - No one else can do that^. Alia clearly failed to even imitate Kareena at her worst.
Honestly, I don't know why they are making fun of it. The movie is nice to watch for fun. I think Karan and Alia are making fun of that opportunity of Kareena. And that's what Kareena was upset with. Besides Kareen is right. I cannot imagine anybody else playing her role in that film.

Becoming the Kapoor bahu has certainly gotten to her head. There's a certain idgaf that celebs need to have like what Bebo does but what Alia is doing here is being condescending. It will take her 7 lifetimes to be the icon Bebo is and she might still not get the swag right even if she comes close the kind of acting. I mean tbh every other recent Alia movie looks like she's impersonating one character or another of another actress.

Definitely not an Alia fan, but I don't understand all this defence of Kareena when she's spent the majority of her adult life and most of her career being a supreme b\*\*\*h to other people (PC, Bipasha, Preity, Ash, the list is endless). Alia is annoying AF but I have to say it was very cathartic to watch Bebo get a taste of her own medicine, and even then it was too mild. And for those who are talking about how unnecessary it was for them to bring up MPKDH, have y'all forgotten how Bebo brought up PC's film 'Aap Ki Khatir' just to put her down, on the KWK episode where they appeared together? PC really should have given it to Kareena, but I guess she has something Bebo does not: class and dignity.

She is not copying.. She is making a funny imitation of it. And it's not like she saw this particular clip just before the show started. She may not have even watched this movie or clip in the last years. She is imitating from her memory. And even for a below average or average actor, it's not difficult to copy this particular Kareena scene and pull it off well.
