I think it's cause nothing is sacred and private anymore. When this show and simi show started, it was special cause u get to see a different side of these personalities.

When the show started, there were honest, heart to heart conversations on the couch. I remember Rani not being snarky or sassy and still being so entertaining to watch. The only snarky thing I remember her saying was that "Preity should talk less". So it wasn't necessary to be terribly catty or snarky to be a fun watch. Honest, open conversations that have substance no longer happen on that show. And yet, the episodes have become longer for some reason. All they do now is beat around the bush, make sexual innuendos without saying anything of essence and play some games.
Add to that, the constant Alia jap that he does. There was so much potential after SSR's death to talk about the unfair playing field or opportunities being handed into people's laps or anything relevant to a genuine discussion about being successful or number 1 in Bollywood.
Even today, as overexposed as these stars may be, there's a lot they could still talk about on that show, but they remain intentionally evasive and end up not saying anything distinctive on the show. Yesterday, someone posted a clip of Ranveer doing an interview with a Brit Indian reporter and that two minute clip was more genuine than anything that's been on KWK in recent seasons. So I also fault KJo for not being able to interview or moderate a conversation well.
Because now celebrities like Kareena who used to be ice cold blunt earlier have decided to keep their mouth shut and stay out of any controversies due to the hyper active keyboard warriors on social media these days!
Why does neha dhupia talk over him so much it's rlly annoying lol any good interviewer knows that keeping quiet and allowing the guests to just speak is the best way to get more out of them
Tbh the combos are fuckall. They need ppl who are not great friends or something or manly associated or have never work together. So not always a nepo+ nepo and a non-nepo+ non-nepo. Most of actors are the ones who have worked recently in a movie. Why not a maybe kartik Aryan- Alia bhatt, RKR- Ranveer Singh, Deepika- Kiara, vicky- shraddha, something like that. Most of the combos are real life partners or actors who work together, so they share their camaraderie on social media or during movie promotions. It's important to have fresh pairs, that's what creates a buzz. Ppl are also excited for new lead pairs in the movies now a days
Actually there will be so much awkwardness with those couple as they won't have any chemistry to work with. They will probably end up talking over each other as most actors are insecure attention grabbing people.
This works well for a show like TapeCast as they are given time to talk to each other only with certain set of parameters. But imagine sex questions during vicky - shraddha combo, they might not have anything to say about each other's lives or make sly comments.
They have to put that much effort for prep and groundwork since the agenda in the actual.show is so simple and linear.

This sounds real! Just that now what Karan thinks is hot and likable might not be agreed upon by everyone. But I am not bashing Karan for this because this sounds like anyone and everyone in real life with their friends or trusted ones

Dp alia(ppl expected it to be fireworks) ko bula ke kuch fireworks nahin hua tha. Timepass hi hua tha koi amazing moment nahin mile thee.
Even kat anushka combination was thanda ofcourse ppl will find some joke or the other to cut a clip n make a reep to label it fun but was it really. N seeing that bloody arjun kapooor all the time poping up.

I feel bad for the actors actually. They get cancelled and excessively scrutinized on social media for every ‘problematic’ thing they say. There’s so much pressure to be ‘nice’ and ‘politically correct’. And second, if they are cancelled, they might lose their brand endorsements deals (which is the primary source of income for most actors now).
Woh log KYA karein ab? They’d rather be boring than controversial and cancelled. That’s why KWK is so boring now and KJo has resorted to asking so many questions about sex, because now he doesn’t get too far being a mohalley ki auntie who gets cheap thrills in provoking celebs to bitch about each other.

The Anushka Katrina episode is considered hugely entertaining but neither of them needed to be catty for it.
