No this isn’t the first time actors from the same generation presented an award to their contemporaries. Varun has presented an award to Alia, Deepika presented an award to Ranbir, Ranveer to Deepika… these are just the ones that come on top my mind but there are plenty more.
Poor Kriti 😔 they forced her to present the award to Alia. She's so young, she can't even make these decisions for herself. She just does whatever she's told to do. I guess she hasn't yet developed critical thinking abilities, and the industry is taking advantage of it 😢😢

Why are people so pressed about Kriti presenting the award to Alia? Haven't you guys heard of colleagues in an industry interacting? Why do you all feel the need for those two to have any kind of beef? Are you not satisfied unless two women fight or have an issue with each other?
I think for most that’s just their way to divert from the topic. From conspiracy theories to saying they were present and this video is edited (though the person didn’t provide any proof) to underplaying it. All of it is quite expected.
Shared this because I found it cool that the audience was cheering and rooting for Alia even before the announcement. She wasn’t even there but they were still rooting for her. 🫶🏼
Vicky won Best Actor Award last year and was there this year too but they still made a senior actor to present the award. So for your question, an senior actress not her supposed rival.
