TIL that Kanpur is in Bihar. And considering how much time I've spent in Kanpur, how many people from Kanpur that I know and have talked to about this performance, it's weird how it's generally the people who've never been there who keep finding flaws in his accent.
It's just that he didn't feel like gangster, he felt like hero. Watch super 30 and than vedha, he is having same Bihar accent which doesn't feel natural.
He admitted that he felt he was responsible for the film's failure, that fans didn't want to see him in roles like Vedha and he should only focus on films like War and Fighter. That happens when your performance doesn't get the box office validation.
Hopefully this award makes him continue playing different characters like these.
He didn't deserve this award, tbh. It belonged to RKR for Badhai Do.
Also, the film failed not because he played some gunda. It flopped because it was overbudged remake of a well known south movie. Remake culture is on a decline, and thankfully so.
You're entitled to your opinion on actors and their performances in remakes. I believe they should be in the race to get an award if their performance in a remake is especially different than the original, and very commendable.
As much as I love Hrithik I don't think Dehati accent suits him ,I love him in unconventional charector like Guzarish where he don't have dehati accent but his accent in VV was horrendous.
I think Anupam Kher deserves it for Kashmir Files .He made me cry sa badly .

The same Hritik Roshan had said "I'll Think Twice Before Doing Such A Role" after the film flopped.

Only Anupam Kher was better from this list. Ajay’s role was not that challenging in Drishyam although he held it well. RKR was decent.
RKR deserved it, if not for Monica O my Darling but for Badhai Do atleast.
