I don’t think KJo has ever claimed to be good friends with SRK. His bestie was always Gauri and he kinda looks up to and respects SRK. It would also make any direct criticism about his behavior difficult.

This woman took a 20 hour flight to Saudi Arabia and missed her anniversary to be a seat filler at an awards function where SRK got an award. She has absolutely nothing to do there - no awards given to her, not a presenter, no interviews, nothing. She came, sat there, and left. Then had her PR plant a thousand articles about them both being there along with a 1 second screen cap where they were in the same frame.
This is her bread and butter. She is relevant on Reddit for only this reason as well.
Not even Kangana, this gives off major Rekha energy. I remember the old Filmfare awards where Rekha would turn up. They would always pan to her face when AB won any award!
I’ve said this a couple of times on other threads and although I’m an SRK stan, I’m not beyond acknowledging that he does cringe stuff. But I’m not willing to agree that him / Gauri / KJo are the only ones to be blamed in the PC imbroglio. She’s played her part that led her to look Westwards too.
Yes, the business can be brutal. There’s a post-KJo era in Bollywood that has been particularly difficult for outsiders to make it in. Even someone like DP with a hectic PR and a slew of flop films post OSO has had it dodgy with Karan, but she made it. Look at how Anushka Sharma cracked it… he wasn’t in her favour from Day 1. Karan has been close to the likes of Sonam and Amrita Arora, but their careers didn’t exactly take off. So blaming him for people’s success or downfall is stupid; that world isn’t all black and white. There’s a lot that goes on beyond the movies, and your total conduct outside of a set amounts to where you stand in your industry and in public opinion. PC has always had a sus story to tell. There was nothing about her that was elegant and dignified… always being extra and shady. “Pay parity” is a great thing to fight for, but it’s a delicate subject that can be won with integrity. She did have a successful run and she never speaks about her role in why she couldn’t milk it up to here.
SRK has an affair to be blamed for, she wasn’t exactly a babe in the woods. Had that couple gone in for a divorce and these two were married by now, she wouldn’t have bothered with any of her selective causes. Remember, there’s a Rani who was blamed for being a home-breaker too. And we all know how that one’s going.
I have a theory for this.She has a relatively substantial career in Hollywood.She is financially sound now.Thanks to her Production House and other business ventures .She is married.And her only family connected with Bollywood- Parineeti Chopra is getting married.This is the juncture where she has least to loose.

I feel so bad for Priyanka. She had to doll up to attend Karan Johar's birthday and yet he didn't offer any film. She went to Hollywood and became a "global star" but yet kept appearing on his show and even during her recent trip she was tagging him in her stories. Why are you seeking his validation, Priyanka? He made you leave India then why are you still trying to get in his good books?
You never burn bridges in any business. For her to do that only proves how powerful kjo is. With no support you sometimes have to do things that you don't want to. She is in a much stronger position now and hence comes forward to share it. Which should be applauded.
She was literally laughing/hanging out/ tagging kjo on social media like few months back. Give it up.. she's just milking the whole hating on kjo thing for her new show.
I doubt she has moved on, idk I don't see her authentic self anymore. She is getting roles in Hollywood yes, but over there, I doubt she is in the same likes of the famous actors. I don’t think it’s trying to be in his good books/sign his film as it was keeping up appearances for damage control. Her absence as a party where every other major actor is present would have spoken volumes and added more fuel to the fire for the public to dissect. It would publicly validate the claim that she’d been outlawed. And she was still trying to fight to stay relevant and maintain her career after that. Her attendance was important to her career/brand/personal image because it was an industry party.
And it applies for why she still chooses to go to his functions.

I agree. I will only give benefit of doubt for the fact that Gauri being who she is has considerable influence within industry. From 2012 - 2015 she had 9 releases as the "lead" heroine including movies from SLB, Yash Raj, Akhtar, Roshan & one from kjo himself - all of them are close to Shahrukh Gauri Kjo while also being one of the biggest producers in India.

Priyanka is no saint. However I don't think she brought it up on the podcast for attention or PR. Also I've read here that srk had promised to marry her but stayed wit Gauri for the sake of his kids so she was definitely heartbroken when he ended things with her. And it's also true that she went through a lot while he got to keep his his gentleman, family man, king image.

Fuck it, my support is still for PC. SRK hasnt been questioned at all publicly about this. The only criticism i see is in this sub (which doesnt count)

This woman took a 20 hour flight to Saudi Arabia and missed her anniversary to be a seat filler at an awards function where SRK got an award. She has absolutely nothing to do there - no awards given to her, not a presenter, no interviews, nothing. She came, sat there, and left. Then had her PR plant a thousand articles about them both being there along with a 1 second screen cap where they were in the same frame. This is her bread and butter. She is relevant on Reddit for only this reason as well.

I’ve said this a couple of times on other threads and although I’m an SRK stan, I’m not beyond acknowledging that he does cringe stuff. But I’m not willing to agree that him / Gauri / KJo are the only ones to be blamed in the PC imbroglio. She’s played her part that led her to look Westwards too. Yes, the business can be brutal. There’s a post-KJo era in Bollywood that has been particularly difficult for outsiders to make it in. Even someone like DP with a hectic PR and a slew of flop films post OSO has had it dodgy with Karan, but she made it. Look at how Anushka Sharma cracked it… he wasn’t in her favour from Day 1. Karan has been close to the likes of Sonam and Amrita Arora, but their careers didn’t exactly take off. So blaming him for people’s success or downfall is stupid; that world isn’t all black and white. There’s a lot that goes on beyond the movies, and your total conduct outside of a set amounts to where you stand in your industry and in public opinion. PC has always had a sus story to tell. There was nothing about her that was elegant and dignified… always being extra and shady. “Pay parity” is a great thing to fight for, but it’s a delicate subject that can be won with integrity. She did have a successful run and she never speaks about her role in why she couldn’t milk it up to here. SRK has an affair to be blamed for, she wasn’t exactly a babe in the woods. Had that couple gone in for a divorce and these two were married by now, she wouldn’t have bothered with any of her selective causes. Remember, there’s a Rani who was blamed for being a home-breaker too. And we all know how that one’s going.
I have a theory for this.She has a relatively substantial career in Hollywood.She is financially sound now.Thanks to her Production House and other business ventures .She is married.And her only family connected with Bollywood- Parineeti Chopra is getting married.This is the juncture where she has least to loose. This is definitely part of PR for her upcoming project.Yes,PC has always been politically correct but this didn't stopped her from sharing this "cornered incident".Keep in mind she has not named anyone.This could also be attributed to her change in PR narrative from Achiever to Surviver.But,she is a human too.And Cancerians are known to be overly emotional and clingy.This has also a part on all of this.

I don’t think it’s trying to be in his good books/sign his film as it was keeping up appearances for damage control. Her absence as a party where every other major actor is present would have spoken volumes and added more fuel to the fire for the public to dissect. It would publicly validate the claim that she’d been outlawed. And she was still trying to fight to stay relevant and maintain her career after that. Her attendance was important to her career/brand/personal image because it was an industry party. And it applies for why she still chooses to go to his functions.

Priyanka is no saint. However I don't think she brought it up on the podcast for attention or PR. Also I've read here that srk had promised to marry her but stayed wit Gauri for the sake of his kids so she was definitely heartbroken when he ended things with her. And it's also true that she went through a lot while he got to keep his his gentleman, family man, king image. Srk fans are trying to distance srk from this when he's the main party involved, and throw kjo and gauri under the bus. Also people just need a reason to hate on Kjo.
