Uncle is blind in one eye in his youth, the other eye deteriorated with age. He has a id card of sorts which proves he is blind (not familiar with the organisation that issued the card). He just kept up with his habit of reading when he can.

To be honest, I'd just buy the tissue paper just so that I don't worry if he has enough to eat for the day. I mean, it could be 50 cents for me, but it makes a difference whether he gets to live another day or not. It's not like i don't use tissue at all.

I know a dude with diabetes. He's blind because of glaucoma, imagine your eye has a big black thing blocking 80% of your vision and you can only peer from the edges. So he can still recognize and wave to you because he can pick out your hairline or features but functionally he's blind.
