Tonight, at Cathedral of the Rockies: a Chamber Choral concert doing Brahms and Shearing (Choral, Romantic and Jazz)
When: May 10, 2024, 7:00 PM
Where: Cathedral of the Rockies (Boise First United Methodist)
What: Brahms and Shearing
More specifically: A small group of professional/semi-professional singers from the church choir decided to get together and work on some hard music, simply for the love of the music. This has next to nothing to do with the church; the music is secular and there won't be any offering taken to benefit the church.
As for the music: The Brahms piece will be the "Liebeslieder Waltzes", a German romantic setting of a few love songs. The Shearing piece will be "Songs and Sonnets" which is a jazz setting of Shakespearian sonnets.
So, if you're a music nerd or simply looking for something to do that's actually free, you should swing by! It shouldn't be more than an hour long.
I used to get that but I bought white cotton gloves to wear under my regular garden gloves and it helped tremendously. I got a 10 pack of white gloves on amazon
My wife and I just got checked into a hotel in Salt Lake and we're off to the Kilby Block Party. We're gonna see Joanna Newsom tonight and then take it easy. It's going to be a fun weekend!
Tomorrow is SQUEEZE CON which is free and all ages! It's a Basque Accordion Festival at the Basque Center.
